What do you all think of it? They are talking about how its going to change the face of the zelda series and blah blah for the skyward sword. It looks way more innovative than other games with that motion control though, personally I'm intrigued.

I'm NOT intrigued, however, by the re-release of OoT. It seems like they want to dumb down the water temple(again) which is just for the lamest wiener people ever, I'm sure. Also, i dont think there's a way to change it significantly enough to do a remake without hurting it in some way, know what I mean?

Thoughts?

Grr... I tried replying to this earlier but then something went wrong, so I have to start all over now -.-
For Skyward Sword, I'm amped. I really want to see some more footage, it looks great, looks really fun, and I'm so excited that I went to play Twilight Princess again hahah
As for the OoT remake, I'm also excited, even though I probably won't get a 3DS when it gets released :/. I have heard of the "dumbing down of the Water Temple" though.
I agree that it shouldn't be any easier than it was in the original, but I heard something else, not exactly making the temple easier, but making the game itself more accessible. And by that, I mean using the touch screen as a way of switching inventory. Switching from normal boots to iron boots over and over again in the original was a pain. You had to go into the menu and select it, then go back out of the menu and do something, then return and take em off. It's annoying. So, I heard they were using the touch screen to switch inventory. Miyamoto himself(or one of his associates... it was in a roundtable discussion) said that he was planning to do something like that. He didn't say he was going to dumb down the Water Temple, but he used it as an example for his idea of accessibility.
Knowing him, Miyamoto has a great track record that proves that he knows what he's doing(most of the time anyway.). So, I have faith that Nintendo will do a great job with this remake.
Does that help? hahaha.

im not to keen on seeing a other remake of ocarina of time but remakes seem to come out often these days and they don't seem to wreck the game too much so it seems ok for now.and the skyward sword looks good and a bit dark for a zelda game which i think is going to be a positive move for the legend of zelda series.also the motion control ha been implemented into the twilight princess but maybe the remake of ocarina of time will implement some slight motion controls with the gyro sensor and the other motion control feature.

The Oot remake is cool in my opinion, because it gives younger gamers a chance to play a great game. I can't wait for skyward Sword. I's going to be an awesome game!

Looking back, OOT was limited in graphics. Don't get me wrong, at the time it was state of the art, but now, large areas like Hyrule Field look empty. If you compare it to Majora's Mask (which uses the expansion pack), the environments and textures are much fuller. A graphical update might be nice (wow, I can't believe I just said that). Another thing was that the inventory could be cumbersome to flip through frequently, and this was especially irritating in the water and shadow temples. Streamlining this would be great. But they had better not change the temple layout. That would be crossing the line .

I remember i got OoT from a friend that said that his mom said he had to get rid of his n64 because he played it to much. i played and replayed and played again and replayed that game till it literally didnt work. now adding a 3D element to it will make it so much better. and i did find the water temple annoying at times because yes the menu was tedious to go threw time and time again and i hope all the items are just on the bottom screen. and what are you talking about the water temple is always hard and the longest and biggest temple. thing of TP its HUGE and confusing. it took me days to get past it the first time because i didnt know where to start (the boss key especially was hard to get). Miyamoto knows what he is doing and does think if he were playing how would he want it.

As for skyward sword i have been waiting for another game since TP. its sad that it comes out next year and not this fall like promised before but it gives them time to improve on it and make it even better. i need to get some motion plusses now.( i never got any because i though they were a stupid idea but now its for zelda...so ive got to go get some) i do wish that it didnt use the motion plus so that anyone could just pick it up and play it.

catutie1 : Hey there
I believe that it was announced that MotionPlus will be bundled with Skyward Sword, which is great news for both of us, since I don't have MotionPlus either XD.

I really do think skyword sword will be really good and change Zelda. I'v whatched the trailer for it and it looks very good with all the wii motion plus. If it's possible to put the Wii remote in the sword then it will be awsome. Oot looks pretty good on the 3dsi but I never heard of anyone talking about dumbing down the water temple but I might need to check agian. Anyway they both look like very great games because Oot will always be good and Skyward Sword is making me exited.

To tell you the truth guys, I'm not too exited about Skyward sword. I dont know what it is. I'm usually excited for a new zelda game. I'm just afraid that they're not going to focus on the story and be more about the new gameplay. I'm a story person. I was sorta expecting more out of twilight princess, but they fell back on gannon. I want to see where they will go with skyward sword though. Some one correct me, but I thought I heard that they will release and official zelda time line (or announce that there isn't one)

As for the 3DS OoT remake, I am PUMPED! I finished Oot again just a few days ago and I think it'll look great in 3D. Plus I will be able to take it with me. As for dumbing down the water and shadow temple, hmmm... I don't know how I feel about that. I've always been able to get through both. The water temple is actually one of my favorite places because of the environments and difficulty. I'll be happy if they fix the key problem. I've gotten stuck there too where I used a key at the wrong time and had to restart the game. As for changing the layout, I would actually like to see what they come up with. It will be like a different game (but then again that could be a bad thing)
As for adding new things: It always bothered me how zora's domain never unfroze. I was so curious about the doorway at the bottom near the platform. There was always something somewhat mysterious about the OoT. There was so many secrets you could find and rumors about things in the game... and I swear, if they lose that I'll be so mad.
I would like it if they would actually unfreeze zora's domain after you defeat the water temple.

I'm pretty hyped to get a chance to see a 3d OoT. I'd like to check out Skyward Sword, but I'll probably not invest $50 in it.

Karnella : I know it's been a while since you posted in this thread, but I'd just like to point out that the possibilities for the story in Skyward Sword are pretty vast, considering how it's a prequel to OoT. It could really show some insight into how everything was put into place, since a lot of people think that OoT is the start of the timeline.

Oot on 3ds, I remain neutral because I still have my N64 and I see no reason to buy the same game really.

Skyward Sword, on the other hand... Yeah I'm super pumped! I love the graphic style for this game because of the fact that the 1:1 sword control and the new battle style would be difficult to handle, I think, if the colors weren't so vivid (which is really what causes the cartoony-ness. However, I think in future games, once players are used to the style, realism is better.

I'm getting that game like day one though, soon as i can preorder I will.

I can't see Skyward Sword hurting the series in the slightest. It looks to be a worthwhile game and I'm excited to see how they are going to deliver the gameplay of TP with the graphics of WW. I'm also pumped for the release of OoT on the 3DS. Although they may try to dumb it down, I would still love to take OoT with me, and be able to play it wherever I want, after all of these years playing it on my N64. As long as theydon't ruin the game, I would be fine with that (infact the whole reason I decided I would buy the 3DS when it came out was because I could get OoT on it)

Best Keep your concience as clean as you can, or charma will come with a blade in it's hand. It will strike all those who seek to gain without giving, and spare all of those who are weak and forgiving.

catutie1 : Water temple was significantly easier in the GC remake of OOT (not master quest). But it could also be that I'd played it so many times by then that it was just muscle memory =P

Also, I'm the exact same with motion plus! I was like eh... til I found out Skyward Sword uses it. Now I have to get it!

cob : I've actually have been following this since the day i heard about the Skyward Sword. It's going to change LoZ because this is pretty much the story of the master sword and how it all began.
Now the next topic---
The 3DS:
This is definitely the greatest idea nintendo has come up with. It has been confirmed that Ocarina of Time will be on the 3DS. I think this is a major milestone in LOZ graphics because to solve a big puzzle such as the fire temple or water temple in 3D makes it feel like you yourself are in the game. Personally, I would like to see Nintendo take the 3D graphics further and try to move the same kind of graphics to the TV or even have systems that project holograms.

Sorry if i got to into this but if you would like to know more go to:

cob : I've actually have been following this since the day i heard about the Skyward Sword. It's going to change LoZ because this is pretty much the story of the master sword and how it all began.

I'm all for OoT 3D. Don't get me wrong, I love the original, and they already have the GC remake... but the game has aged, and pumping new life into it while simultaneously working on the backstory is an intriguing combo. As for the Water Temple, all I've heard is they're making it a bit less tedious... which I understand where you're coming from, but can you honestly say you didn't get a little frustrated? Plus with the good chance of touch-screen inventory, I say it'll work fine.

As for Skyward Sword... mindscrew! AH! Now it's before OoT? Eh, whatever. At least there's no chance of the plot getting Hijacked by Ganon... right... right?! Er, anyways, being set before Ganon's original attempts at power, it should (hopefully) have a new, non-Ganondorf-related plot... unless I'm totally wrong and the explanation for only Link and Zelda realizing Ganondorf was evil and him totally slipping through the other people's filters is that they're all just idiots.

I have always been a hardcore zelda fan, and I just can't wait for either of these titles. This year's E3 showed that Nintendo still knows how to make gamers rejoice and sharpen their skills in preparation for classic franchises. My opinion on OoT 3D is that it gives the older crowd a chance to take a trip down memory lane, and to provide the younger generation with the sweet necterness that the rest of us tasted. Although there has been plenty of skepticsim on whether this game will perform as good as it originally did, but I think that the magic is still there. Whether it be in the irrating water temple that challenged us to actually utilize our brain, or the first time you traveled into the future. If you combine aspects like this, and add more graphical and technological potential, then this could be a remake worthy of the "Legend of Zelda" title. AS for Skyward Sword, this installment in the series will of course innovate, showing what the Wii Motion Plus add-on can do and what other tricks Miyamato has up his sleeves. Either way, I'm just ready to take another trip to Hyrule!
