Maybe we will wait one year, or two years, or three years, before we have our wedding ceremony. Right now we aren't going to worry about when and how, all that matters is that we've made a promise to become married, and we are moving in together with that promise in mind.

I don't care about "Mrs.", or the wedding reception, or wearing a ring, or being able to say I am married - Although I know all of that will eventually happen. I only care about my commitment to Brian. A commitment like marriage feels completely natural, effortless and right. I don't know if I will ever meet someone like my fiance again. Furthermore, I don't know if I will ever find someone who understands me at such a profound level.

I understand that people change. My fiance and I have discussed this at length. We are prepared for change and hope to grow and change together. We want to be there for each other (a constant for each other, if you will) as we go through life. I can't imagine any situation where I wouldn't want him to be there with me, and he feels the same way. He wants to be with me as I get older and discover more about myself. And vice versa.

But in the end, no, I can't "know". You can't be sure 100% because nobody goes into a marriage being able to predict the future. If we ever do separate, it will be heartbreaking beyond belief, but that is life. Sometimes, life happens, and the marriage is not able to survive the change. But we are both prepared to put everything into this in order to make it work and I don't see that happening very easily at all.

I don't mean to boast, either, but I am pretty mature for my age. My parents were not surprised. They are thrilled and announced it to my whole family. My mom even said, "Well, it only makes sense." Most (if not all, nobody has raised issue) of my family approves and is very happy for me. I've had a few skeptical friends, but so far nobody as "attacked" me. I don't consider your post an attack either.

However... In the end I don't need to convince anyone, or care what anyone thinks about my relationship, except for Brian.

I usually pop in to chat at least once a day. Most of the time the conversation is slow. I don't like to keep the window open because having a flash application running needlessly lags my browser.

seanne : I don't know if there is any big "reason" behind it, besides that is simply what I would prefer in a partner. It seems more like my personality type. I like to be with people who have similar views, tastes & interests. Of course it's good to have some differences to keep things interesting, but I would not sacrifice compatibility.
