I'd like to know what kind of instrument you play and if you know, how expensive the instrument was when you bought it. I have a trombone and a guitar, the guitar was around 250 and came with an amp(it was one of those beginner sets ) and the trombone was a lot of money i don't really remember how much but i think it was around 200 something dollars a month, I had to rent mine before I could own it.

My guitar was $200, my piano was $500, and my trumpet was $150...

In all, my instruments total up to a good sum of money...

The keyboard is 50,000 php. ( philippine peso. Go convert it on your own. )
The piano, I don't know. It's older than me. ^__^;;
The acoustic guitar is 11,000 php. Though I don't use it that much. No offense meant, but I don't have any interest on improving on guitar.

I dont know the others' prices...

I converted your PHP into USD
Your keyboard is 1,124.86 USD... wow that's a lot XD
And the acoustic is... 224.972 USD(how do you have 972 cents? lol) which isn't that expensive, but still more than my acoustic lol.
and none taken on that about guitar, everyone has their interests.

My Alto Saxophone was about 800 dollars, but I forgot. I got my Trumpet from my cousins for free. Yah apparently, he stopped playing the Trumpet and gave it to me.

My brother plays a clarinet, which costs about 200 dollars.

My entire drumset was free since my cousin didn't want it anymore. He bought it for 1,500. It was a collectable apparently.

My acoustic guitar was around $600 I think, but I got it for free. My dad bought it, got bored with it, then gave it to me.

I play guitar (rock and roll, metal, acoustic). I have two semi-pro guitars both running $700 and I have two semi-pro amps. One amp was $600 and the other amp was $400. My final piece of equpment is a multi-effect processing board which was $500. I've spent entirely way too much money on it but it's actually not as bad as what some guitar equipment can run. I'd like to trade some of my stuff for a nice tener sax one day.

I got my trumpet on Ebay for $300 (pricey, yes, but it is a very good one) and I got my Coronet (which is virtually a trumpet, but just squished with a slightly different tubing system) for virtually free, since it was my dad's... way back in the 1960's, and he got it a garage sale for $25. Still works like a charm, although the valves tend to stick a bit after playing for a while.
I envy all of you musically inclined people who can actually play your instruments and make nice sounds. : )

~sakura~ : Actually, I'd say 300 is a pretty good deal for a trumpet... I'd think it would be a lot more expensive since my trombone was probably over 1,000...

mdynasty926 : I'm assuming you bought your trombone new and not from ebay though, correct? (A new trumpet is upwards of $2,000 depending on the quality, and since I don't do it professionally or anything, the one I have suits my needs just fine). Of course, if you got your trombone from ebay for 1000, meaning that it was used before, you can rest assured that it is a very good trombone.

~sakura~ : My trombone was bought from a music store. The owner or whatever was nice enough to let students who were entering band for the 5th grade rent theirs before buying, so it seemed less expensive(or, it was a lot easier to pay). I don't remember how long it took, but it probably was about a year. And I think it was 200 a month so it's roughly 2,400? I'm surprised my parents actually approved of buying one... XD

mdynasty926 : I'm not. A trombone is a great musical investment, and if you are really keen to learn, it is well worth the money you pay for it. Brand new instruments are expensive, that's why I stick to ebay if I can.

mdynasty926 : I was involved in my school band, but I had to quit before I start high school because my schedule was out of periods. It's a useful skill though, and hopefully it will stay with me (and you, if you decide to quit) for a while. And for all you know, you may find that you have a passion for it and you love it a lot, or you may hate it. Try to like it though- since you're taking a curricular class, you'll be stuck with it anyways, so you may as well enjoy what you've got.

My keyboard was about $100, and no I can't play, but I would like to if anyone has suggestions on how to start learning.

I got looking and realized that this is my 100th post!
