Okay, so this is pretty much going to be a rant on my parents...

I hate them. Plain and simple, no exaggeration, I hate my parents... particularly my father. They fight constantly over the dumbest s*** (tapes, remote control not working, potato preparation) and they have since as long as I can remember. My dad is incapable of talking quietly unless it is to his family or best friend... but to me, my siblings, and my mother he talks loudly and like we are dirt. Things are quiet for the most part until his ass walks in the door from work and immediatly starts b****ing about something. Makes my mother go from "okay" to "shrew" in 5 seconds, and I am not kidding.

My mother is old, I mean 66 years old and I'm only nearing 21. She b****es that I don't dress girly, because in her eyes things should be like they were when she was my age in the late 50s/early 60s. It's because of her that I do not have my liscense yet, because she refused to help me get a car and insurance, yet b****ed at me if I asked her to drive me anywhere. I haven't been able to get a steady job because I need a car to get to any possible job I can get. Also she b****es about everything if it's not done her way. She never really does much around the house all day except watch TV and drink Coke, rarely cleans... at least she cooks.

Now the fun part. Mother recently had surgery, so she pretty much needs to be taken care of because she can't do much lifting, which means I am the cook now and I have to do a bunch of other things. I also have to do my schoolwork... but with those two going at eachother's thoats every 5 seconds for practically nothing, I can't get anything done. I mean, honestly I can't even go the the damn bathroom without them yelling at me to do something for them. I can't take this much longer... they are fighting more than they have all year and it's driving me crazy. I hate the arguing, I hate the yelling, and the very sound of my dad's voice makes me want to kill him and my mother's makes me want to scream. I hate living here, but I have at least a year and a half before I can get the f*** out of this hell hole... ARGH!!!

Everyone hates their parents. It happens.

Meh...I just hate my dad. He trys to be to controlling over me, and thinks he's the god of everyone else....he's so stupid...I don't know how Davids dad could've actually hung out with him lol...

The best thing I can tell you, Elara, is to move in with a friend. You've lived 21 years with a couple psycho people. That's too long. Get out! Have a friend drive you to the DMV or something so you can take your driver's test and such... Be dependent on them for a couple weeks, then you can start being independent again. It's the only advice I can really give you... I would say try an invisibility charm against them, but that could lead to bad things...

this is sad. I know exactly what thats like. But i deal with it. All i see from you is that you think you are way better then them. If you don't even know what its like to be them why judge?

Well, I guess if they were my parents I would try sitting down with them and telling them how I felt. I really don't talk to my parents though. Mabey a good choice would be to join the Marines, and then after that you could live on your own. I know the frustration though. You want to leave yet a big part feels responsible to stay and help take care of them. Be strong till your mom gets better. My dad is 58, and I thought that was old. Your probably a single child Elara?

I totally understand the hating your parents thing....

but, the moment I moved out... I started to love my parents... they are so much more fun and what not now that I don't live with them... and they don't tell me what to do all the time... it's so great

Its kinda the same thing with your siblings. My brothers and I get along infinantly better now that they are out of the house.

Actually I am only a single child as far as my dad's family is concerned... I have 4 older siblings from my mother's previous marriages... the second youngest is 15 years older than me. I would move out, but there is that lovely thing about rent and me not having a job thanks to not having a car. I plan on being out of here in no more than 2 more years though, since I'm getting married (they don't know yet)

More joyful ranting... today I had a major test for my Wildlife Biology class, so me and my boyfriend were trying to study for it last night (he has the class too), but every 5 minutes my parents would be b****ing for me to do something. Usually they leave me alone when I am studying, but they didn't seem to give a f***. I've been working my ass off around here cooking and cleaning, answering the phone and doing s***; and just because I chose to study for a test for a class for my MAJOR, my father started b****ing saying I am lazy and don't do my share of the work, that he has to do everything (which is a lie) and that I am basically worthless. I actually started to cry at that point... and then my mother had the audacity to get mad at me when I said I didn't want to make my dad a birthday cake at 11PM...

I can only say one thing "get the hell outta there" it sounds like in many ways they're destroying you. I cant say I know what its like because I like my parents.

I dont get get nearly everything I want nor all the priveleges but we have mutual respect for each other and thats what matters. Really they've been greating at supporting me so far.

All I need is a car and a decent paying job and I will be so gone from here.

Well, at least my mother is mostly moblie again so I don't have to deal with her too much. I still have to make my dad and brother's lunches it seems though, since my mother is just plain lazy. I hate making their lunches... I can make food for anyone else with no problem, but I hate doing it for them.

And tomorrow I get Cinderella duty, aka cleaning the house by myself, and I have to get it done before 2PM.
