Another thing I'd love to do. I use Notepad so much that without the scroll bars I've had to stop myself from thinking it was an actual window. I use Notepad for anything where the formatting doesn't matter. It's also handy if I have to save since the file size is always tiny.

The problem with the scroll bars is that if I increase the size of the text box......... I just had an idea Time to test it.

BNuge : This might not work for you since your problem isn't the same as mine, but it is a little similar. I fixed the problem in my code by switching the code base around a little to < td ... style="background: transparent url('your pic url here') right" > The right at the end is to shove the entire layout to the right most side of your computer screen. That way, you can make your bg bigger without cutting part of it off. Like I said though, your problem is a little different so it might not work.

NOTE!!!-- The ONLY thing I did to break the code in my post so it would show is to move the < and > one space out; all the other spaces are supposed to be there. Oh, and you can use the spot where I put right for other alignments, but it might be better to just use another method if you want align left or center; this way is only really better for align right when bits of the bg get cut off.

Oh yeah, you can tinker with how the bg is formatted after the "right" part too; that's where I put that I wanted my bg not to move at, etc.. You might be able to find a different way looking a little into this code.

I'm not overly concerned with stretching the image anymore. If I did, then it would also stretch the words in the bar (file, edit, etc). That would sorta ruin it.

BNuge : Would it be possible to cut the center third of the image out like you do to make your other layouts tile well and just fold that 1/3rd over until it's the right size? I don't know much about picture editing, but I think that's possible. Oh yeah, I pranked leggy in a newbie thread if you want to see it. Thought you'd want to see someone else get zapped with the good old fashioned name color change prank.

That's a lot better. Unfortunately, the Layout Creator doesn't have a feature for a transparent box, so you won't be able to do that.

BNuge : Warpstarferret was on the right track, but it won't exactly work right because of Aero's weird window borders. Now, if you were using Windows Classic things might be different...

Lazlo Falconi : I'm trying to get this layout to look good; I have the base code down for now, but I'm missing a few things; first, I need a tile-able bg (Doesn't matter much what, as long as it is seamless) for the 'back wall', and maybe a pointer or two about how to turn the left 2 panels into one without making a mess of the code; I could probably figure the second part out, though, so don't worry too much on that if it's a headache.

One more thing: What's the ratio for yellow in the (##,##,##,#) format? The bottom right panel is the closest I got.

By the way, this is a simpler variant of the layout up ^ there. That had 5 tables, this one is just 2.

Oh, and don't freak out too much on the color scheme, that's just a placeholder to show where all the table stuff is at.

WarpStarFerret : I can't really help you on the background, you'll just have to find something you like, but if you do find something that doesn't tile, you can send it to me and I may be able to help you out. As for finding yellow? Too easy. Pick the color you want, then use the values from the R, G, and B fields as the first three numbers in your rgba() string, then set the final value (Alpha) to how transparent you want it to be.

Anyway, to get the left two cells to merge, in the first row, you have to put the first cell (td) with the rowspan="2" option, then delete the first cell in the second row.
