I'm sorry I didn't see all of the first part of your question, and the way you phrased the rest of the response on the experiment made it look to me like it was being taken out of context to show that people are going to be cruel whether there is someone there calling the shots or not. Once again I apologize for not seeing all of the original sentence in which you asked if he was familiar with the experiment that proved the point he was making.

If you want to call any death at all at humans hands murder, than you might as well call someone who killed to defend his/her self a murderer simply fro protecting their life or even their kids lives.

This poll needs more options. There are so many things that could happen. A surgeon at a hospital messes up, a burglar has your children to knife point and you have a gun, a serial killer just killed your family and now you are alone with him with a gun, a man deserves the death penalty, an accident (that's a stretch...)
There are so many options here, murder is too broad of a word. Are you seriously going to tell me that if you were alone in a room with a man who completely killed your entire family and you have the chance to kill him, you wouldn't even think about it?

first of all, we should classify what "murder" is, as under ceartain circumstances, there are two general classes of murder that i would consider murder. pre-meditated murder and accidental. pre-meditated means that you have planned it all out. and accidental means maybe driving over somebody on accident, its still murder but it was not youre fault. now abortion is a different matter. people say abortion is good because its getting rid of a baby when they didnt want one. still murder. taking a life away from a poor defensless baby. but anyways, there should be no circumstance for pre-meditated murder. self defense is a different matter entirely
