Light Knight : Despite going much of the year without it, I have to vote for Sony… I’ve been a Sony gamer for 15 years and it seems they just keep getting better. I just hope that when I get a ps3 slim that I won’t have to worry about the YLOD… Nintendo would be my second choice but it’s been so long since I’ve played a Nintendo console. I would probably buy an N64 console if I had the chance though.

I'd have to go with Nintendo. I've got every one of their main platform consoles except the original Nintendo console. I'd like to try out Kinect, though.

I like Nintendo the best. Their games are awesome! Atari almost killed video games. Play Nintendo loud!

SilverMaestro : Um... Nintendo isn't using old school gaming as a way to make more games? This is news to me. They have allowed tons of Pokemon remakes just for money, and those New! Super Mario Bros. games started out as what I would consider technical remakes, but just much more sneaky.

Sony is not the ones even producing the games oftentimes. The SOTC and Ico remakes are under the development of a company that is probably part of Sony's first parties. Maybe it's a second party. Besides, Nintendo isn't all too creative themselves. How often do they recycle ideas in a Mario game over and over? How often are they never hated for using the dead and old "save the helpless princess" plots?

If anything, Nintendo is only able to get away with this because the fanbase is so rabid, and the fanboys are almost verbally violent. Insult Mario? Better hope you did this on a Youtube video and have a partnership, because you'll make some good money. Insult Zelda games? Possible death threat warrant to the typical fanboy. Now never. EVER. Insult Nintendo. Unless you have a partnership with Youtube, and can make money off the views.

Okay. That rant aside... Sony was always being used as a host. These guys are busy making the systems, and a crapload of other electronics. I don't think they'd be the ones making games. Notice how Square(Enix) ran to them like a hungry puppy? Sony was giving good money, as well. Besides, aren't most games we have now clones in some way? Creativity often fails in reality. Just look at the game Psychonauts. Great game. It sold badly.

KlawedFlaw : I am well aware that Nintendo itself is not the most creative when it comes to this itself, but I simply chose based on how I felt about each game company, and some of the games that i had recently played on there consoles (I'm also aware that just because it's on their console, doesn't mean they made it).

Here's the thing, regardless of anyone's opinion, I'm basing my vote on this fact. Anyone born before the 80s who sees you playing any console will call it Nintendo. Period. If they don't, theyre faking like theyre hip ha! =P

Nintendo. No competition. The expansive library of great games, the nostalgia, and they're the ones that saved video games after the crash in the 80s. Plus, if it wasn't for Nintendo, there wouldn't have even been a Playstation.

i say microsoft because they have a good product and the games for it is really, really fun

I personally like Nintendo the best. Sure they've had some downers (Virtual Boy, blech) but many, many uppers (Nintendo 64, Wii, etc) Sony is pretty awesome too (in fact I have more games on PSone and PS2 than on any other console) but their games aren't that mind-blowing.

I like Nintendo, but i personally have to go with Sony I have always liked their systems, dont get me wrong i have all of the original systems from Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, and so on but i have stuck to the gaming quality of some of the ps3 games that i have had for over 2 years and still find them fun to play.

KlawedFlaw : One of the things I love about Nintendo is how they can recycle great games and make them fresh, yet keep the elements I like.

Example Super Mario Bros.:

The first Super Mario Bros. NES title is the in my opinion the best platformer that had been made to date.

SMB 3 on NES was amazing. It recycle much of the first game but polished the graphics (obviously due to the times) more enemies, more Mario Enhancements, an overworld. And the gameplay was similar but even smother with a more natural "feel" than the first.

SNES series: Got a little repetitive, but kept the platformer fans happy.

64: The first 3D game developed for a home console. Need I really explain how this wasn't a revolutionary game. Not only was it 3D, but it was actually full of fantastic gameplay, puzzles, and adventure.

Galaxy: While it kept the Mario 64 feel, this game blew my mind. The spherical worlds and creative ways to accomplish the objective were fantastic. Even the way they recycle old classic music. One of the most creative series games I've played.

Basically what I'm saying is, some people love the classics games, but want completely new games with no "old" feel. Some people(me) love the classics, and love to re-experience them in extremely creative ways. Which is what I find Nintendo does perfectly.

Light Knight : Very good points, and completely understandable why you'd feel that way. I love the Pokemon series, and find that it needs no revamps outside small ones. Of course, I also often prefer Sony games, so... Meh. Guess I'm a bit biased. Go figure.

I like Nintendo because of how they make games. They actually put effort into the games.

Personally, I think Nintendo is the best. I've also only played one NES game.

I have two favorite things about this thread:
1. Nintendo is winning by a lot
2. Microsoft isn't even in second. I'm kind of anti-Xbox.

I can see where you are all going with Nintendo and such, I mean, Nintendo is what we all think when Video Games come to mind.

But, I believe, with my highly biased opinion, that Sony has made it's share, and possibly even more "epic" games than Nintendo, which give it the title of best Video Console.

This may be a bit biased, but I"m going to say Konami.
I mean, come on. You got Contra, Metal Gear, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Castlevania, the list goes on. The company knows good games.
