EX Palen : Yeah, that's a huge problem I have with my own self. I wake up and don't really feel like moving or doing anything so I basically stay in bed and accidentally drift back to sleep, even though it's like... 12 PM already. I'm a heavy sleeper when I do so it's basically hard to wake me up until my brain does it for me and then OOPS it's accidentally 8 PM lmao

I never really had this problem when I was younger since I had to go to school and I woke up at like either 5-6 AM since I didn't want to miss the bus (Which I did a lot btw because I was really bad sometimes about my sleep schedule.) and that's probably where my problem lies.

It doesn't help that my room is my workplace so really I don't ever have to go out unless it's for groceries and sometimes sleeping just feels a lot better to me because I'm just not feeling awake that day.

I do not really struggle with sleep. I get on average about 8 hours of sleep a night. For me I have to have 8 hours of sleep. However, I have weird sleeping habits compared to others. I have to have a cup of coffee before I sleep. I cannot sleep without my cup of coffee. I guess Coffee has a reverse effect on me.

Now, If I do not have my cup of coffee I usually do not sleep as good. If I haven't had coffee I have intereptions in my sleep. I don't feel like I have much energy the next day.

I don't struggle with sleep often. Very few times i can recall lately having trouble sleeping. I do sleep a bit worse when i have wake up early in the morning sometimes for work because my normal sleep schedule is pretty late at night (3am-11am).

I find it kinda interesting how i can change my sleep schedule when needed and still get some decent sleep, sometimes my schedule consist of me sleeping 11:30pm-6:30am for a few times weeks.

tornadocam : How long is it usually for you from drinking a cup of coffee and going to bed and what type do you drink? I'm genuinely curious.

tornadocam : Ah that makes sense. Caffeine usually tends to make you tired after the effects of the high wear off so it's probably due to that.

I used to suffer a lot more with being unable to fall asleep, mostly because I have RLS, which makes it very uncomfortable to be still when trying to sleep.

Over the last few years, I’ve gotten much better at getting to sleep quickly after getting in bed. I used to sit in bed for at least an hour or two every single night trying to get comfortable, but as of late I’ve been getting to sleep in under half an hour. I think it has something to do with being extremely sleep deprived, and since I no longer take afternoon naps I am always very tired by bedtime.

I used to take melatonin the night before something important, but I felt it would just make me extremely tired but not actually help when trying to fall asleep. I remember some very weary nights where id sit in bed unable to move because I was so tired but I just couldn’t fall asleep.

I hated those times, and to be honest I am so glad and lucky it’s gotten better.

I usually have to give myself 10 hours in bed because of how badly my body does with sleep. If I need to wake up at 8 AM, then I need to be in bed at 10 PM and I might still only get 6 hours of sleep because it would take me more than an hour to fall alseep and I would wake up a few times throughout the night for no reason. Even on days that I'm tired, I just can't get enough sleep even if I'm in bed for more than enough time.

So am I the only person who has lost sleep over computer issues? I remember early in my gaming empire when I was struggling to get my virtual machines working that I had lost sleep over it and even if I could manage to get some sleep all I could see was the virtualbox and me struggling to drag stuff into it

For me, it really depends on how much is on my mind and how well I can push that off to the side and just think of nothing so it varies but lately I've been doing pretty well with sleep I'd say but there have been times when it'd take me ages to fall asleep like after being used to falling asleep talking to my ex it'd take me hours to fall asleep but I try to watch a YouTube video on my phone until I pass out and that normally does pretty good nowadays.

A bit of an update to add to this, I recently gotten a few new pillows and tried them both out for the first time. The MyPillow since it was highly recommended to me from friends and family, with it's price being a main selling point, and a Pillow from Kohl's called the Big One which is a Memory Foam Pillow that's seem to be pretty good from all the online reviews I read of it, costing about 70 dollars. I also happened to of bought some Melatonin recently in order to see how that works out for me.

So for the first night of having the pillows I basically did it all without Melatonin and the results are a bit varied for me. I used The Big One pillow first and this was the day I woke up due to head pains so I figured I would get better sleep anyways and I really did. Even though I slept like 5 hours it felt great, probably the best sleep I had in a while. I did it again the next night since the last night felt so good and sadly didn't get as much of sleep as I'd of liked. My head felt pretty awkward. While I did get another few hours of sleep a bit later I don't know how to feel yet about the Memory Foam Pillow but we'll see with time.

Now the MyPillow was a pretty interesting case for me, at first it was a bit unorthodox and didn't feel that great to lay my head on, but once I started to sleep it felt a lot better over time. Not as good as when I first slept on the Memory Foam Pillow but I'll try to keep these factors in mind when I start to take some Melatonin over the course of the nights to see how I'm feeling after all of this.

Can't say I'm happier though, I really am sleeping a lot better then I was the previous nights with my Serta Pillows so I think I'm doing something right. Hopefully this improves my sleep schedule and makes it easier to go through the night without waking up. Eventually I'll get there. I'll try to update this Thread particularly as time goes on just to see how my progress is going.

classgame : No sadly, although that was more due in part to me building a new computer at the time and I needed it to draw art so I wouldn't go to bed until it was finished. Took like 2-3 hours but it was pretty late at night cause I just had got home and was wanting to go out to eat. Easy to say I got really terrible sleep.

Recently I have found myself losing sleep (or rather waking up in the middle of the night) over something that could have been repressed in the past, like I was supposed to be put in charge of something pre-COVID and yet somehow everything changed up and eventually I forgot what task I was supposed to be doing, but I am pretty sure it was just a dream or something or I would have had a better memory of what it was I was supposed to do

I wouldn’t say I have issues with sleeping, but more so that I tend to stay up longer due to my work schedule. I usually be able to fall asleep quickly when tired and wake up with no issues at all.

The only time I’ve been losing sleep or struggle is when I have caffeine in my system for drinking an energy drink after 2 am at work or when it’s really hot where I start sweating. A/C fixes the problem for the sweat but caffeine, that usually causes me to power sleep so at least I can rest a bit with some minor restlessness.

Well now I'm going to have a reason to lose sleep tonight, the sound completely disappeared from my laptop and the people at memory express told me more than 6 months ago that my motherboard was on it's last legs

UPDATE: it's working again, it better not do this to me again because I am off work until September and I well shopping at torrid a year ago made me comfortable about shopping with the body I have and it unleashed the shop-a-holic kraken within me

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
