I'm back with another review of a Nekopara game. This time it's a review of Nekopara Vol. 3, or NEKO Para Vol.3, that's how its name appears in the Nintendo Switch UI. Another review of an M rated game (and rated C 18+ here in Mexico), but one that isn't very enjoyable. I got Nekopara Vol. 3 on sale last month (February 2022), and again, I got a Nekopara game just to have something to review, I wasn't interested in Nekopara Vol. 3 in the slightest and I'm still not a Nekopara fan...let's begin.

Story: Like the last game in the series, Nekopara Vol. 3 begins with everyone working in La Soleil, we quickly find that in Nekopara Vol. 3 Maple and Cinnamon are acting strange and appear to be more distant than ever, and yeah, by the end of the game, they grew closer and are even better friends and what not, Nekopara Vol. 3 actually has what I would consider the best story in the series so far, even if that's not saying much, unlike the previous games where one aspect of the story is ''2 specific catgirls are in heat and they will become Kashou's catpanions'', here we don't have that aspect and it doesn't happen like that or whatever, unless one counts Cinnamon as a catgirl who's in heat all the time...something mentioned in the game, putting her aside, this game is more focused on Maple and Cinnamon, and what can I say? It's an emotional and moving story/narrative, not bad. This category is an 8 at most.

Graphics: Still the best part of a Nekopara game unfortunately. The 2D art looks really nice and the characters with the exception of Kashou and background characters (or characters that aren't even shown on screen and don't always have a name) are animated, the animation throughout the game is a really nice touch. The backgrounds look really nice (at least at times), the CG images look amazing, and the chibi designs used in a lot of images are charming. I don't have complaints about the graphics and art style, Nekopara Vol. 3, like the previous games in the series, looks amazing.

Sound: Like other games in the franchise, most songs in the game are recycled, and I hate that. The music of the Nekopara games isn't even that good in my opinion and in fact, the music of the first Nekopara game (and by extension, the other Nekopara games of course) is unremarkable and the soundtrack is not memorable, it works for the game and genre (comedy and slice-of-life, maybe. At least it's a comedy for sure), but not much else. At best, the music of Nekopara Vol. 3 is good, but not more than that...honestly, the best part of the soundtrack are the vocal songs. Without spoiling anything, Nekopara Vol. 3 has more vocal songs than other games in the franchise, not just the credits sequence and that sequence used early in the game (the opening one could say, but it's not used every time you play the game unlike other Japanese games), and yeah, I like those vocal songs, but even so, because of the recycled music (a lot of recycled music), and the fact that in my opinion, the soundtrack isn't even that good, the highest number I'm willing to give this category is a 6, maybe a 7 if one is feeling very generous, but that would be from someone else, not me, and that's without even mentioning the voice acting...like previous games, Nekopara Vol. 3 doesn't have English voices (unlike the anime, available in physical format), and the voice acting is annoying, even more so than the previous games. Because this is Nekopara Vol. 3, Cinnamon speaks a lot throughout the game, and I have never liked her voice, Cinnamon's voice is annoying and I don't like it, but other characters, specifically a few characters without names, are also annoying or have annoying voices (that character who says ''pachi pachi pachi'' or ''clap clap clap''...ugh). I played pretty much all the game without Cinnamon's voice, as always, I have only heard her voice during very specific moments or specific lines, but yeah, I played without Cinnamon's voice (even though she has a bigger roles in Nekopara Vol. 3) and I have no regrets about that...

Addictive: I don't think that this game has a lot of replay value...like other Nekopara games, it's a (kinetic) visual novel worth reading once, but after finising the game, I don't know if I would want to read all that dialogue and text again, and I say it as someone who can say that the game made me laugh a lot...Nekopara Vol. 3 is a game with a lot of funny moments and scenes (the fan service complements the comedy and humor), but because of the lack of choices, the fact that visual novels are still my least favorite genre in video games and who knows what else...I Wouldn't say that Nekopara Vol. 3 is particularly enjoyable or fun, and I'm not very willing to play it again...a 5 (at best) is fine, at least in my opinion. I want to be able to give these games good numbers and not just something like a 5/10 or less than that, believe me, I do, I'm well aware that the Nekopara games are more popular than other visual novels and in fact, they are loved and for the most part people really like the Nekopara games, but I can't because of my preferences and other things I've already mentioned and what not. There is also the fact that Nekopara Vol. 3 is another visual novel with sex scenes or hentai but only if we talk about the original PC version...there is more I can say about that, but I'll leave that for later.

Depth: The highest number in this franchise so far, Nekopara Vol. 3 is longer than the previous games (especially Nekopara Vol. 0) and unlike the console versions of Nekopara Vol. 1 and 2, Nekopara Vol. 3 doesn't have an unlockable game (or story) that can be read after finishing the game, which means that all the unlockable images in the gallery are of Nekopara Vol. 3 and not two different games. Nekopara Vol. 3 is a game that can be finished in at least 10 or 11 hours if your reading speed is average or something like that, the game really is longer than other visual novels out there, which is something I appreciate, but that's not saying much, it's still a shorter game than other visual novels, and it has less content than other games in the genre.

Difficulty: A blank space for this category is fine, as always...let's leave it at that.

Nekopara Vol. 3 is an enjoyable visual novel (more or less) and it's slightly better than other Nekopara games, but that's not saying a lot, it's still not a game that deserves a 6/10 in my opinion, and something a little less than that works for the game, as I said, I want to be able to give higher scores to these games and all that stuff, I really do, but unfortunately, I can't. Honestly, after 5 reviews of Nekopara games and the fact that I'm not a Nekopara fan, not to mention that in all these cases, I bought these games just to write a review...I'm tired of these games...I'm fatigued...if I ever write a review of Nekopara Vol. 4, it won't be until October this year at least, but not before that month. Visual novels really aren't for me, but I can say for sure that these games should be amazing if you are a fan of the genre unlike me, but I want to ask, what's the point of a Nekopara game without the sex scenes or explicit content? One of the main selling points of Nekopara, if not the biggest selling point, is the fact that the games (on PC) have sex scenes, and sex scenes of catgirls no less, but if you remove the pornographic content, the games should lose one of the main appeals or reasons why people are interested in this game...it would be like watching a pornographic movie without the porn...if a Nekopara game doesn't have sex scenes, then what's the point? I'm asexual, and I can easily say that these games have more in their favor than just the explicit content, but I've said it before and I'll say it again, if you remove the porn, the game suffers as a result, and that's probably one of the reasons why I'm not very enthusiastic about the Nekopara games. I don't play them the way they should be played we could say, and without giving spoilers, there are several parts in the story where a sex scene would make sense, and in fact, in one specific part of the game, it's implied that 2 female characters did something really intimate with each other but it happened off screen (''Uhh, that was a mistake... I can't believe it...'')...maybe in the PC version we see something more between those 2 characters? Probably, but I'm not sure, that said, it would make sense and be fitting considering the dialogue. Cinnamon is a pervert, that's how she describes herself and it's true, I really like her, she's a funny character who speaks in third person every once in a while (or rarely, but it happens), and that makes me like her even more, characters who speak in third person have a special place in my heart but...yeah, if we don't really see ''hardcore things'' (Cinnamon's words, not mine) in the game because of the fact that the sex scenes have been removed...I'm not sure if I'm willing to recommend this game then. I've realized that I'm willing to promote visual novels that were developed specifically for consoles and as such, don't have (and never had) explicit content or sex scenes. Games such as Youkai Poetry, Xblaze Code: Embryo and Collar X Malice...yeah, why not? I'm also willing to promote visual novels developed specifically for PC (and maybe ported to consoles later) if even the original PC version doesn't have sex scenes, Sable's Grimoire I think, the PC/Steam version is the original version but it doesn't have explicit content, not even the original version for PC...why not?...if we talk about a game like Nekopara, where the sex scenes are probably the main reason why people are interested in the first place, and then a console version is released without that content...What's the point?...if you are interested not just in Nekopara Vol. 3 but also the other games, play the original PC versions with the sex scenes, if you somehow are in a position of ''I'm interested in Nekopara but I don't care about the sex scenes and/or I don't want to see those scenes''...the best thing I can say about this version is that you should buy it when it's on sale...do not pay full price for Nekopara Vol. 3 on Nintendo Switch, and that's if you are interested in this version, in which case, why would you be?...It is difficult for me to recommend this game, like the other Nekopara games...Cinnamon probably enjoys the sex in the PC version...anyway...I don't have more to say I thing....that's all. See you next time.

Hmm, this review is good enough, but it seems that I posted it on the wrong page, and it's a review of the Nintendo Switch version, not the PS4 version. Staff: Is there a way to move the review to the page of the Nintendo Switch version? This has never happened before, and I'm not sure if moving a review to another page is possible.
