So I'm sure you are probably wondering why aren't I doing a review for this game? well here's the thing, there's a rule about the review that say you have to at least finish the game before you post a review for it, and I haven't been able to do this, mostly because there is no way you can play a coin-op version of this game online (the RetroArch on the game page for the Revolution X game won't load) Also I'm not sure if it is still residing at the Jackpots fun center near my end of the planet. So since there is no way I can play the coin-op version online and I don't really want to go there if I'm not sure I'll be able to finish the game, I figured maybe I should tell the story of the first time I discovered this game...and how it made me a fan of Aerosmith

See I already knew the band existed as, oh by the way I forgot to bring up the fact that Aerosmith was another one of those acts/celebrities I have heard of thanks to the Simpsons. I had heard a handful of their songs, and saw a few of their videos, I knew they were in Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band and in Wayne's World 2 but I had no idea that they took part in a video game, I mean only one other musical act has had their own video game and that was Michael Jackson (at the time, eventually Aerosmith had gotten their own Guitar Hero game (remember that?) and the Beatles had since gotten their own Rock Band game). Bummer if the game existed when Wayne's World was still relevant I'm sure he would have had a ball playing that game. Guitar Hero that is, I don't think he would have played Revolution X. But here's where my story of my awareness of the games existence begins

It all started in May of 2005 Victoria Day Long weekend, I was with a group of girls we were supposed to be doing a respite thing at the zoo but I guess it was too hot or something so we ended up going to a bowling alley in St.Vital (it no longer exists, the bowling alley I mean, St.Vital is still alive and well) and for some reason I felt more drawn to the arcade than to actually bowling, I did get an opportunity to play the game but I didn't get to go very far, I mean I got as far as trying to get to the Car, before we had to leave so what made the game so drawn on me? well I guess the surprise and shock of seeing Aerosmith get abducted by a terrorist organization must had lingered on me, even though afterwards we went to see a film at the cheap seats (we were seeing Miss Congeniality 2) and then we went to the house of the respite worker to meet her furbaby, needless to say we were late getting home, my parents had no idea that the plans were changed we never called them, and I did not have a cellphone at the time.

So anyway knowing the game existed and the fact that I now wanted to hear the rest of what Aerosmith had to offer (I got to THAT certain song eventually around the same time I got to see THAT movie), but I wish that Much More Music didn't drop Pop Up Video from their schedule, it was very abrupt, it would have been all fine and good if they had given the band their own MMMProfile but they didn't. For awhile I had owned an SNL video tape that had three of Wayne's World's best sketches and one of them being THAT sketch the one where Aerosmith appeared on Wayne's World, so there it grew deeper on me. I did get to go to St.Vital Bowl again to play the game two months later like a day or so after I came back from a road trip to BC. And again in May the following year (it was an anniversary playing) though I don't think I went back another time, by the time I did get to go to St.Vital Bowl the game wasn't there anymore, and that was in about 2008, but I did notice that the game did show up at Jackpots where I think it currently is at but I don't know if it's there I haven't been there in forever. Now here's where things get interesting, later that year I actually got to see the band for the first time on December 8th 2005 (which is an easy date to remember because it was on the 25th Anniversary of John Lennon's murder) and I had already told a couple of my teachers ahead of time that I would be late for school (yeah the concert was on a school night I'm just sorry it wasn't the day before the inservice). I got to see them again in 2010 (I was going to see them in 2009, but Steven Tyler fell off the stage in Sturgis before they were to play in Winnipeg, they were promoting their rock band game, ironically I think I heard they were performing Love in an Elevator....going down indeed) like a week before they announced that Steven Tyler would be replacing Simon Cowell on American Idol, and for two years, the show was suddenly watchable to me, and he was entertaining to watch.

So eventually I found my way to emulators and well at the time in 2010 again like I said in a previous thread everything was powered by Java at the time, and a good chunk of games were plug-in exclusive, I didn't get to play it on a Genesis Emulator until 2014 back when Game-Oldies was still functional. Even if there was a way to play the coin-op version online it would have been complicated, it's not just about saving the world from New Order Nation, you gotta save Aerosmith as well, you have to do certain things in order to rescue them (like you gotta hit those sword fish and then the big screen to get Steven Tyler) I would have to have notes on me at all cost, I probably wouldn't have the proper patience for it.

So that's technically my story of how I discovered Aerosmith had a video game (though we don't play as them, and I learned an interesting factoid not long afterwards, the game was actually offered to Guns n' Roses but they turned it down and it was also offered to Public Enemy which is kind of a better fit considering their content but they didn't get it either) and made them part of my music rotation between Queen and MJ...HEY HOW COME QUEEN NEVER GOT A ROCK BAND GAME?

So I gotta ask for those of you that played, how did you discover the game?
