Because I injured my thumbs 3+ months ago, I've had to avoid playing video games. At first I injured 1 thumb so I was playing games 1 handed for a little while but that eventually put more strain on my other hand and thumb since I was doing and carrying everything with one hand, but then that thumb also got injured so I had to stop playing games all together for a while.

I still browsed through a few games just using my fingers but I didn't really actually play anything during this time. My thumbs aren't fully healed yet but I'm pretty close to being able to play video games again, I think. I'm hoping to get back to playing on the Vizzed Minecraft server. I'm also hoping to start streaming with Vizzed users again.

This is definitely the longest I've ever gone without playing video games. Although to be honest, over the past 5 or 6 years, my life has been too busy to play video games so I was really only playing video games around 10-20 hours a month. But still, I'm really excited to play some games again. It's frustrating to have to sit back and watch others play, especially when it's a competitive game and it gets my competitiveness going. Gives me a greater respect for those who are handicapped.

What's the longest you've gone without playing video games?

I think the longest that I've gone was one or two years but that back when there weren't any games to play. Earlier this year when I stopped having internet, I went two months without even turning on my TV at all, but during that time, I still played the Switch in handheld mode a couple times. I don't think I've played a PS4 game this year though.

The longest I've ever gone without playing videogames... That must be two weeks, most probably.

I've had times where I've played videogames for several hours a day, other times where I barely played them. But either way, I think I've always dedicated a few minutes a day to a videogame of any kind, be it on a console, a handheld or in my PC.

There have been two times where I was hospitalized for a week, and in my teens there were the summer holidays when we were out of home for two weeks straight. That's basically the only way to keep me away from videogames xD

I could do without playing them, though, and maybe one day I'll have to test it. But it's very hard to do so when the best hobby I have for killing time and keeping myself active is writing guides for videogames. Maybe when I have my hands full with life and very little free time for myself I'll drift away from videogames, time will say.

I think 2 weeks is about the longest I've ever gone I realized a while back one of my biggest fears is having something happen to one of my hands where I couldn't play for a while because I know in terms of skill I would lose so much and I would hate the grind to regain a lot of that lost muscle memory and just hand eye coordination at the very least it would likely end my pvp days in Minecraft because I just can't see myself taking an extended time off from games and coming back and thinking "alright let me grind to get my pvp skill back for a month or 2" I'm glad to hear your starting to be able to play more again and regarding streaming I hope to also be apart of some streams again in the future.

Probably a few months considering I often get caught up in something for weeks and just cease everything else.

I'm sure if you were into strategy/simulation style gameplay, you could've done a decent bit of gaming with a mouse. That stuff seems to be an acquired taste though.

That sucks that you injured your thumbs; I know how that it is from having actually both my thumbs injured (one broken and one fractured). It was a while ago though, like 5 or so years ago.

"What's the longest you've gone without playing video games?"
It has been for the past 7 months that I have been in school for my job... no time for anything but work and school.

Wow, I can't imagine having both of my thumbs injured. I believe the longest I've gone without playing any video games was about a month. Most of the time, I don't bring my video games to college with me since they could be a huge distraction. And this school year, I was in my college dorm for about a month before heading back home for a break. During that time, I didn't even go online to play any video games. That wasn't very difficult since I had so much else to do and a few friends to hang out with!

Davideo7 : you mean other time between Christmas and Hotel Vacations in the 90s? I can't think of a time period probably because I'm from an era before smart phones, at this point it will be a real life The Last Of Us.....technology wise. Sorry to hear that you are injured though, being injured or sore is no fun no matter where you are hurting
