A couple hours ago I read something about how Gamestop is closing nearly 100 stores throughout the country. I read that people were getting crazy deals as a result in those stores and I found out that one of the stores that was closing was nearby so I checked it out and I was shocked at all the CRAZY deals going on.

The 2 biggest deals going on at this specific store was all games that were $20 or more were 70% off and all games that were less than $20 were $1 each if you bought multiples of 5.

The first thing that I did was I picked out 20 PS4 games that I already own and I asked if they could be held for like 20 minutes. I also asked if they will be accepting trade credit. They said yes to both. So I quickly went to another Gamestop because I secretly brought all my PS4 games with me and I traded in the 20 that I found.

I only got like $2.50-4 each and I got $68 in total for all 20 games. Then I went back to the closing stores and bought the same 20 games for $20 and after tax I had $44 left to spend on other games. I took advantage of the 70% off and picked up a bunch of recent games. However I bought the games pre owned because pre owned games were buy 2 get 1 free.

After using the $44 leftover, 2 rewards certificates, and 10% off pre owned for being a member, I only had to pay $55 after tax for the following 8 PS4 and Switch games:

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
Zelda: Links Awakening
Fire Emblem Three Houses
Witcher III (Switch)
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Death Stranding
Tokyo Mirage FE

And because it was Buy 2 get 1 free, I got the following 4 games for free:

The Outer Worlds
Days Gone
Borderlands 3
Slay The Spire


Then I stocked up on a ton of the under $20 games. I picked up a bunch of games that were $10 and $19.99. Many of the games that cost $20 and fall in the 70% off category also had pre owned that was less than $20 so I was able to grab some games that are normally $20-30 for $1 each like GTA V, Fallout 76, Madden 19, Far Cry 5, and more.

I picked up 20 games for myself and then another 30 games with the intent of trading them in for $50.

So, in the end my total out of pocket expenses was $105. Then after I left I traded in the extra 30 games and chose cash and was able to get $75 back. So in the end, for those 12 big PS4 and Switch games along with 20 $10-20 games I paid $30

How do you do this sorcery? :o I have probably only gotten 3 or 4 max with that amount. I still really want to give tokyo mirage fe a go but I never get around to it. XD

I went to the same Gamestop as before as well as another one that was going out of business and picked up a few more games.

For the PS4 I picked up a Risk of Rain bundle which comes with the 1st and 2nd game. For DS and 3DS I picked up Pokemon Ranger Guardian Signs, Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon, Pokemon Y, and Animal Crossing New Leaf. For all those games, I only had to spend $13.69.

I took my friend to the same store and he got a Switch Lite, Fire Emblem Heroes, the original DS Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, and 2 other games and he paid around $190 in total.




I'm thinking of going back and picking up some more games before the places all close. One was selling South Park The Fractured But Whole for the Switch for only $15 and the other was selling an Sealed XBOX1 CoD Infinite Warfare/Modern Warfare Remastered Legacy Edition for only $10. I don't even have an XBOX1 but I would love to keep the Steelbook and then trade in the games.

I really added a lot to this over the last couple days. I grabbed about a dozen DS and 3DS Pokemon games, they were nearly all $5 each. The only ones that weren't were Omega Ruby ($6) and White ($7). The only game I'm missing now from the DS/3DS set is Soul Silver.

I also traded in a couppe games, used that money to buy a ton of discounted games, and then traded those games in with a pre order bonus to get a ton of 2020's biggest games for free.
