Tour de Vizzed Updates

Jerseys and Banners Affect the Vizzed GO Cards
Competitors of the TdV competition can be caught with their card styles and those cards will eventually have special purposes. More information can be found here:

Here's some brief TdV info:

Each day there will be 4 Jerseys you can compete for:
Yellow Jersey: Most words in a day
Blue Jersey: Most posts in a day
Red Jersey: Most CP in a day
Green Jersey: Most CP actions in a day

If you get 1st place in a Jersey for a day, you get to "wear" that Jersey the following day. To "wear" it means that the background of your username will have a unique background graphic. Only the top 5 places of each Jersey gets points, 1st gets 5 and 5th gets 1. Whoever has the most points for any Jersey at the end of the competition gets to wear that Jersey for the entire next month. If you have more than 1 jersey, your jersey receives stripes for each jersey color you own.

Along with the Jerseys are Banners that change your username color. They basically represent who has the most points total:
Rainbow Banner: Whoever has the most points so far in the competition
White Banner: New member who has the most points so far in the competition (anyone who has signed up in the past 3 months)
Gray Banner: Veteran member who has the most points so far in the competition (anyone who signed up more than 7 years ago)

Tour de Vizzed Rules:

You'll be DQ'd if:
-More than 25% of your daily posts are made in one of the following forums: Crazy House, Vizzed Market, Polls and Questions, Video Game Craziness, Newbie Forum (unless posts are made in your own thread then it's 50%)
-You copy content from other websites or other posts
-You use the "tabbing" technique to make a bunch of posts in a short amount of time
-You're caught cheating or unfairly earning Contribution Points
-More than 25% of your daily posts are made in the same thread (your own thread and staff threads are an exception)
-If 50% or more of your daily words are posted in the final hour of the day
-Staff members are not allowed to feature their own reviews during the Tour de Vizzed

Additionally:
If you get DQ'd just once from a Jersey, you can no longer get points for that Jersey for the rest of the month. We will be very strict from now on with the Tour de Vizzed. Only CP actions which you earned CP off of count toward the Green Jersey.

If you get DQ'd from too many Jerseys in too many TdV competitions, you'll be DQ'd from the TdV forever. Also, if you get DQ'd from a single Jersey in too many competitions, you'll be DQ'd from that specific Jersey forever.

Also, if 50% or more of your daily words are posted in the final hour of the day, you'll be DQ'd from the Yellow Jersey. Too many users have waited until the end of the day to submit a bunch of reviews to the site and that's unfair to users competing.

Moving Ebay Listings for the time being does not count toward any of the Jerseys. The price guide feature hasn't been retrieving ebay listings in nearly 2 years because of ebay updating their scripts and me not finding the time to update my own scripts to reflect that so what I've been doing instead is, every few months, I buy a price guide from PriceCharting.com and batch add the data to the games. There's no reason to allow it to count since it's not beneficial to the site at all since all of those ebay listings are very outdated and those prices no longer reflect what's current.



Additional Tour de Vizzed Info:

Some CP actions only count as 1 per day. In other words, any action in the below list can only increase your Green Jersey points by 1:
Forum Navigation, Review Rated, User Referral Posted, Video Rated, Post Spell Checked, Visiting Vizzed, Screenshot Rated, Post, Game Commenting, Thread, Thread Reply, Chat Room Minute, Staff Forum Post, Staff Forum Thread and Screenshot Details Added.

These CP actions do not count toward the Green Jersey: Game Content.

Each day there will be a specific CP action which will be worth doubled the points which benefits the Red Jersey competition. Below is a list of which actions are worth doubled on which days this month:

I have a few small goals set for this TdV but I'm not going to go all out like the ones in 2019, looking to pass the crown to someone else (hopefully a new winner!!!).

I know competing for TdV is great and all, as for me, I'm not competing this month.

I figured I wouldn't compete, but I suppose I have some energy right now, so we'll see what happens. This is about strategy for the most part. There's no way I'll keep this up all month though.

I'll be going away on a trip for a few days, so I'm not sure if I'll do much of anything for TdV in the beginning, but I think I'll try to win at least one jersey this month. No promises though. I was surprised to win a few green jerseys over a year ago.

I always thought the yellow jersey was obtainable as long as a person is able to write one giant game review and post it. Write one review every day = Did anyone ever win with that strategy? Maybe I'll get off my lazy internet butt and do that lol.

Although I may just compete a little bit this month (maybe go for a jersey or two), but as for winning it this entire month, I'm not planning to, as for the next one in July, it's hard telling on what happens between now and then, I may, or may not.

Since I won grey back in the Summer, My only goal for the month is to finally reach the 10k post milestone. I've been putting that off for a long time. It's time that I do just that.

I'm interested to see who'll be the TDV winner this time around.

Hitting one of my small goals day 1 is pretty neat :3

I recently qualified for the Gray banner so I wanted to see if I could snag it for a few.
Probably won't be active enough to keep it the whole month though.

Pushing through the screenshots is a challenge for sure but honestly getting to see the rainbow banner on myself for the first time makes it all worth it.

I have no idea on how I end up scoring 2 points yesterday, but meh.

The competition has had a great start. I was away the whole day and couldn't do much, but glad to see several users fight it out despite massive advantages in a couple jerseys.

I hope we can keep these numbers going for a while, or at least keep a few users fighting for the top for at least 2/3 of the month. Those things have been lacking in TdV lately, and it would be a nice change to start the decade.

I could probably compete on select days, but it will all depend on my availability. Accidental points will surely come, and why not start today xD

I've enjoyed the challenge so far so I look forward to see how everything plays out throughout the month. I'm hoping my schedule will allow to be active enough to compete through the month cause I might have a few things going on this month but only time will tell.

This is my first one ever so I guess I'll give it the old college try. I'll do my best to make sure the posts really make a contribution and help spark conversation.

New User Blacksmith84 joins the competition.

It's nice to see someone wearing the white banner, even if it's someone who can't hold onto it for the whole month and win it overall. At least it's a good sign that newcomers may join in at any given time, so let's hope we have other contenders for that banner.

I have a couple milestones I could aim for this month. One is to reach 50 Red jerseys, because being the top user in Red jerseys is still far away and I can't compete that actively, but it's still a tough one because Red is fierce competition everyday.

The second could be a bit more doable, since it's 100 overall jerseys. Still, with the fighting going on right now, maybe t'd be worth waiting for specific days to participate when I know I can give it my all.

Anyhow, loving how the competition is unfolding so far. Let's hope we can keep this up and going for a while.

It's been so weird seeing how I always told myself I would be better at Blue and Yellow and had no idea how I'd get Green and Red and here I am having a lost easier time with those jerseys then I am blue and yellow.

I do like seeing the competition have new members so it's pretty cool to have to fight like I had to yesterday with a new member to try to win jerseys.
