So I have already seen Jordan Peele's newest movie Us twice. I really liked it for a number of reasons but one thing about the film really angered me.

The ending is trash.

I guess if you haven't seen it, throw your electronic thingamadoo away and stop reading. Because spoilers? Maybe.

The ending is just so bad. I'm not talking about the climax, or the final battle, or whatever. I'm talking about a quick 2 minute scene that takes place after the day is saved.

There's a mega plot twist. It's a mind blowing plot twist and it does allow you to connect a few loose ends but it makes almost no sense.

You leave the movie with more questions than answers and this brief scene pretty much retcons most of the movie.

The plot twist is that the supposed real person was actually the fake version all along and vice versa.

They could have just ended the film right after the final battle and everyone would be happy. They didn't have to confuse everyone by adding another layer that makes some scenes and events non-canon.

Thank you for attending my TED Talk.

zanderlex : Yeah I do feel like there were some inconsistencies and plot holes in the film. It was busy and complex and not in a good way. I need to watch it again in light of the ending to see if things make sense that seemed off to me in my first viewing. I did like the ending however and how there were many clues throughout the movie that alluded to it. It explains why the woman can talk but the other "shadows" can't and why the woman couldn't speak as a child after the event. It was a well made movie and captivating to watch but not everything clicked with me. In my opinion "Get Out" was a more well-rounded movie.
