The movie that's already 7 years in the making is finally on the way. That movie is Sherlock Holmes 3.

In 2015, the movie was confirmed.

In 2016 the actors and writers were signed.

https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=93955

Then silence.

But now things have changed. Robert Downey Jr wasn't really able to work on the movie because of Marvel but now that he's nearly done, Sherlock Holmes 3 is moving forward full throttle.

It's not even one of those small rumors like "we have an idea for the script." No, the production company has officially set the release date. The movie will be coming out on December 25th, 2020, 11 years to the day that the first movie was released.

This is going to be a lot of work for the director Guy Ritchie, as his movies are usually spaced out a lot. He did Sherlock Holmes 2 in 2011, The Man from UNCLE in 2015, and King Arthur in 2017. He'll be working on Sherlock Holmes 3 and Aladdin back to back, to be released in 2019 and 2020.

I'm super excited for this and know there's at least a few others who are as well.

Finally, some Robert Downey Jr action that won't involve being Tony Stark. I kind of liked him better portraying Sherlock than Ironman, so I couldn't be happier about hearing these news.

Judging by its American release date, I believe it won't come here until early 2021, but this could very well be the first movie I go to watch in theaters in years. Like, I've never had any real interest in recent movies (and now that I've watched them on TV, I regret nothing lol), but things could change next decade with movies like this one.

I'm currently studying to be a voice actor and should become a pro either this December or in early 2019, so I could perfectly have my chances to provide a voice for this movie in our dub. It wouldn't be a main character one, since most actors already have a signed VA, but I would absolutely love to be a part of this.

EX Palen : Will you tell me about how to audition for roles when you learn how? I'm great not only with impressions, but voice acting in general. I have noticed how well I can capture the essence of a character, and I practice sometimes. I've grown rusty, though...

EX Palen : Don't movies that take place outside of America have their international release date first? I know James Bond and Fast and the Furious movies usually come out in America like a week later.

supernerd117 : Things may work differently in 'Murica, after all they don't have such a big industry since they're the creators of most stuff that gets dubbed elsewhere. I'll probably make a post about my first steps on that world when they happen, but it's going to take a while.

zanderlex :  There are several factors that may alter the release date of a movie: strategic release so it doesn't collide with another possible blockbuster that can overshadow it, third-party involvement (producers or distributors pushing the release date for whatever reason), series popularity (James Bond, being always British, has a special treat in Europe), and of course the dubbing process, which some producers may not want to wait until it's done everywhere else.

The previous Sherlock Holmes' movies premiered first in the US, and specially in the second one Spain was one of the last countries where it premiered, nearly one month later than the US and UK. It would be incredibly strange to see this one premier earlier here, things haven't changed at all (or at least not for the best) since the first two came out.
