Maybe I am just extremely bored right now and nothing will turn out of this. But, does anyone here think the Battle Arena will ever take shape with David being so busy with his job, family and other tasks around here? Probably not. There has always been talks and discussions about it but nothing ever takes shape. So here is a concept of it. We'd have a separate site for it to better market it to the world. It would be php based for now until we can upgrade it to better technologies. We'd probably use Davids graphics for the weapons, battle scenes and what not since I suck with that sort of thing. I could do the framework of the game and website using PHP. I don't know how fun it would be in php but hey... it's at least something to start with. I have not told David about this nor has he endorsed it in any way. He probably wants to make it himself BUT when... 5 to 10 years? Noooo... we can't wait that long we already been waiting 10 years for it LOL!

Overview - Every user starts out with nothing except their arms and legs. They can punch, kick, block as a beginner. After a successful fight they plunder their opponent for weapons and win battle coins in the process. This money can then be used to buy items in an item shop. Tactics are gained through fights, so the more fights you are in the better your agility's get. If your opponent has weapons you will be able to acquire them after a successful battle against them so be careful what you bring to battle with you. Each battle win will earn you certain amount of battle coins based on fight difficulty. The more difficult a fight is the more battle coins you acquire during a successful fight.

Energy - Is needed to conduct a strike against an opponent. For example, punching takes more energy then say a bow and arrow or firearm. You can regain energy by using energy packs during combat.

Health - Once your health reaches zero you will lose a battle. Med packs can be used during battle to prevent your demise. These med packs can be purchased in a item shop.

Tactics - Are acquired during battle. The more times you punch, shoot, dodge the more tactical points you will gain for future fights. So each fight you get stronger, faster and better at something ONLY if you win. If you lose, you don't gain any tactical points.

Currency - Viz Battle Coins are earned during each successful fight. This is not related to Viz  because some users have millions of it and it would make this game really unfair. Everyone begins with nothing and works their way up.

Player vs Player Mode (the only mode that will be available at start) - will enable you to fight anyone even if they are offline. So what this means is no one necessarily has to be online for you to fight them. Fights by the person offline will handled using AI (Artificial Intelligence).

Available Fighters - Fight over 600,000 members. If they are registered on Vizzed then you can fight them no matter if they are offline or online it does not matter. No separate registration required to play.
What do you think? Should we attempt to make it? Give up on it? Wait for David to make it? People keep asking every year when is it going to be made and the answer is always either we don't know or never *-*

Seems to me you'd need to regiment it a bit more than that if people get better through victory but not defeat. There are people who could and most certainly would brawl the inactives until any non-grinder would discover that fighting this guy would be like trying to win against Undyne the Undying, no items, with a pacifist character's stats. It wouldn't mean any Viz nor any real bragging rights outside the fighting circles, but that's all some people would need to justify completely breaking your system.

Well, wasn't user level and a few other stats be used for this arena? I know it would be unfair for those of us beyond level 100 against recently registered users, but just wanted to see if my memory wasn't playing tricks on me yet again.

I kind of like the concept of it, whether or not this was always the original concept David devised. Maybe we could include character classes, in a more RPG-esque style, so users can attempt to have an edge over their opponents. For example, a class of characters can have more energy, another can have more health and things like that to add variety to character stats beyond one's own performance.

I'd personally prefer it to be up sooner rather than later. This idea could attract new users and veterans alike to insufflate new life in the site, or at least this separate site of it. Maybe, connecting back to my initial question, activity on the forums could be linked to this arena so both sites help each other, though balancing that link will probably be harder than creating the game itself xD

Also, this thread reminded me of another user's idea back in time that could also see some development. The original idea never implied anything more than transactions, but it was implied by some (me being one of them) that it could be turned into a game which could probably be easier and funnier than the always delayed battle arena.

I was wondering when David will eventually get to the whole Vizzed Battle Arena, since he had it all planned for years like you said. Unless David started the whole Battle Arena on the Minecraft server, although I can't really tell if he has or not because not being associated with the Minecraft Server for 3 years and 4 months.

But scratching the whole Minecraft Server, and go with the whole original idea of having the Vizzed Battle Arena on the site. Because since I joined, this seems like a really nice concept that has never been implemented towards the site (if you don't count the Minecraft Server)

EX Palen : I have no clue what the original concept was so I just decided to make up my own. With my concept a player could bring 100 med packs to battle and take one hell of a beating from a very strong player. That is one way to get weak players a chance to defeat stronger players. Whether we'd limit amount of items one can bring to battle is unknown. Limiting items once can bring to battle would definitely take more strategy.

I don't know how the original game would even work when there are users on here with millions of Viz and post experience. This doesn't make sense to me because they basically beat the game without even playing it. Someone could donate $100 to vizzed and get the sword of vizzed right off the bat. That is no different then entering in cheat codes to beat the game.  Plus someone like legacyme3 with lots of post experience would clean the floor with every user here without even having to lift a finger. The game would be no fun for him because no one besides maybe geo or Davideo7 could legit beat him unless they cheated through donations.

This is just one game concept though, we could create a completely different game and call it something else. Depends on what people want. I think the TDV already is a game tied into posting to where a Vizzed Battle Arena would not need to be incorporated to the posting aspect of the site. I think we should ask Davideo7 what the original concept of it is lol!

Davideo7: Care to explain the basic concept of the original Vizzed Battle Arena?

IgorBird122: I have no idea how mincraft works but I agree Vizzed needs original games for people to play. It sounds like no one plays minecraft on here from Davids last post about it that is why he was wanting to upgrade it to a newer version. I'm sure there are other places to play minecraft but there is only one place to play an original vizzed game.

Noyb42: Yeah your right, they should gain tactical experience no matter what even if they lose. That sounds better. There are lots of ways we can make the game fair for people.

From what I remember of the original concept, I think it could help the site. It would promote activity (good activity, that is, to boost your stats).

As for your idea... I'll admit, I don't like it that much. It requires people to start from scratch, and then it seems like grind A TON. I feel like that would drive too many people away from the game, and thus, the site, as a whole.

The original idea was to use your posting stats for your character stats, hence the reason for the old stat bar section on your personal page. Perhaps implementing something with the RGR and TdV, maybe like number of high scores (or top 10 in high scores), and how many points you got in what in the last Tour de Vizzed, would be a good idea. If the game is easy enough, then posting or playing the games in the RGR is a better, and in my opinion, more fun way to grind for stats.

JigSaw : yeah, not a whole lot of people have been on the Minecraft server as of late, it's not because no one is interested in the Server, personally, I think the server is going alright after I stepped down and no longer wanted to associate with the official server, but personally, I think not a whole lot of people are big on Minecraft now a days unlike 4 years ago when it reached its peak.

But setting Minecraft aside, I think David should return to the original Vizzed game concept that he had planned for all those years.

thing1 : All games make you start from scratch though... by not doing that creates a totally unfair gaming environment for everyone. All the current active users have YEARS of experience ahead of any newbie + millions and millions of vizzes to buyout the entire itemshop. What fun is that for the newbies and what fun is that for older members who don't have any sort of challenge?

Do you think anyone would find that fun to spend years posting and playing RGR games in order to get to the level of your stats? The forum is so dead, no one would find that fun at all except maybe you and whoever else posts a lot. Another problem with that concept is if it's based on posts and the forum is dead, there goes the game itself. It dies with forum activity. Not a good idea in my opinion to tie the two together.

You also say it would drive traffic away from Vizzed. How? If it uses Vizzed's members and is one a completely different site it would bring in new registered users in not take them away. It would cross-promote Vizzed just like GYR did back in the day and brought thousands of new users.

Maybe the old concept of post experience = battle experience was a good idea in past. But I don't think it is at this point in time when no one posts and the forum is dead. You would also be limiting yourself of players to a maximum of what.... like 15 casuals and a few newbies?

IgorBird122 : Yeah, I'm not sure any of us know the full details of how it was suppose to work but thing1 said it is based on forum activity. I just don't feel very confident about that concept when this place is dead and only limited amount of people who bother to post not to mention the fact the game just sounds unbalanced for all involved.

thing1 has double post experience than me. How am I suppose to defeat him in a battle using half the forum stats he has and the highest quality of weapons in the item shop? It can't be done unless I am missing something important like magic or divine intervention in battle.

The sad part is David just doesn't have time to make it, but I do have time to make something. Doesn't have to be Vizzed Battle Arena... it could be named something else. We desperately need some sort of original Vizzed game going though, with his approval of course.

JigSaw : I wouldn't mind something along the lines of "Slay the Spire". You did mention a card collecting game or something like that in another thread, didn't you? Maybe some high ranking users could even offer to be "boss fights" or something during special events.

As for the forum based game, I get where you are coming from in terms of fairness. Maybe there could be some kind of balancing thing in the background based on ranks. I could be full power when I am against somebody else in the Top, say, 25. But, against somebody else, I would be scaled down to meet their level bracket. But, I think it would make the board active active because it would bring activity back to this side of the site (at least, we would hope). z

I don't really know. However, I would like to be a part of whatever you end of doing if you get the okay from David. I can't code, and I can't draw. However, when it comes to guiding, managing, and executing my vision, I can do that very well. Before I switched to History from Computer Science (I thought it was fixing computer, not coding), I was the lead developer on a game we had to make using Greenfoot for a basic coding class that used Java, and I usually tended to take the leadership role for group projects in grade school. What am I am saying is that I have some managerial experience when it comes to executing projects. So, if you ever want to bounce ideas off of me or get this thing going, let me know. I'll be more than willing to lend a hand.

thing1 : I'm unfamiliar with how card games work, if someone could teach me how they work or if they have an idea of how it would work we could do that probably and I'd be able to code it and possibly do the graphics. Games are difficult to make by yourself so I could use all the help I can get with any sort of game we decide to create. If you want you can make separate thread for your card game idea (we should probably start a new thread on it) and the concept of how it will work and we can get rolling on it.

JigSaw : Just look up "Slay the Spire" on Steam. I haven't actually played it, but I want to. I've just seen the few episodes that jacksepticeye did of it on YouTube.
Either a format like that, or something similar to Magic: The Gathering or Hearthstone would also suffice.

JigSaw : Agreeing with you saying that the Vizzed Battle Arena won't really work currently right now due to the low activity of the site, that is true because not handle anyone will be on there to do any battle, although we made get luck on a day or two to actually have 2 users on the battlefield. You are right, until Vizzed does pick up in activity once again, to a point that the site is back to it's glory days (back when we had like 30, 40, 50+ users on at the same time), then yeah, we can go for the Battle Arena.

Until we get that activity back, getting the Battle Arena live would be pointless. But I like to see it finally get going though.

IgorBird122 : Yea I think we will put this on hold for now. It's one of those games that would be most fun in real-time with other players and would probably require a team of people to make (graphics, audio, animations and coding it all up). In the meantime we will be working on the card game which is progressing very nicely. After that is complete we can come back to discussing the battle arena or potential other games people would like to see.

It's a shame because I'd like to see a battle arena but we just don't have the activity or resources for it to where it would be fun
