I can't get Avast to stop blocking the RGR plugin. Everything will go fine for a while, then when I go to play a game, the game will load like normal, but all of a sudden, the controls stop working, the sound cuts off, and the screen goes black. Down at the bottom of my desktop the Avast icon appears. I click on it, and it says that it isn't responding and asks me to End Now or keep trying. Avast basically freezes up my Web Browser until I choose to end Avast. One time it blocked the plugin, it told me the exact file path it was blocking, but most of the time it freezes the game and browser and just says not responding.

This keeps happening even after adding the exclusions to Avast, but I added the exclusions to the File Shield also. I read somewhere that the spaces in the file path could be preventing it from working properly as well, so I took them out too. I re-installed the plugin, but had to restart my computer because of an error writing a file to the directory: C:/ProgramFiles(x86)/VizzedRetroGameRoom/VizzedRGRPluginService.exe. I needed to verify that I had access to that directory. I don't know what else to do, and I need help. I really can't afford to get a new computer just to play these games. There should be a more simple solution that keeps this from happening and having to constantly go through this again and again.

Can't you just disable Avast while you play and then turn it back on when you're done?

I know it might seem like leaving yourself wide open for attacks, but I would personally just get rid of Avast altogether. Before, I used both Avast antivirus and ZoneAlarm for a firewall and I just got tired of the resources it constantly took up. For the last couple months, I haven't been running anything but Windows Defender and Windows Firewall and I haven't had any issues. As long as you're not visiting any less-than-kosher websites and you're careful where you download from, it's really all you need beside having the free version of MalwareBytes around for scanning once in a while. Everything you need for active protection already comes with Windows and I've been told it's been improved a lot over the years.

It looks like Behavior Shield in Avast is blocking a .exe file path needed to play games. If worse comes to worse I might just have to disable Behavior Shield and see where things go from there. I did add an exclusion to that too, and it works for now.

uninstall avast, all anti-virus are just lame versions of windows defender. you do not need all those fancy stuff that are not going to stop viruses. The only way to never get hacked is by never allowing your computer to connect to the net.
