Simple question. I'm curious on what everyone's favorite Overwatch heroes are.

My favorite offense and overall hero is Doomfist. His high-risk high-reward playstyle fits me perfectly.

My favorite defense hero is BY FAR Junkrat. All the other defense heroes seem a little dull, but Junkrat's just got this crazy fun playstyle.

My favorite tank is probably Winston. It's so fun to chase offense heroes and healers while they can't do anything to get away from you. Roadhog is pretty fun too because he's low-key an offense hero that never dies.

My favorite support is probably Lucio because he's got pretty solid DPS and his group healing is too OP.

My favorite character is d.va
With the addition of her missiles, she has become useful against (the way too OP) Roadhog again like she used to be. She destroys Winston, well timed def matrix can mitigate a good amount of ult damage vs most chars... so on and so forth.

Second fave is Tracer. She's a bit squishy, but is very useful against tanks and stupid Bastion.

Fave DPS is Mercy.
No one comes close to how much she can heal in a short amount of time and the her new ultimate makes her pretty OP.

Hanzo.

Any other answer is objectively wrong, and here is why, bow and arrows are cool, and it's really fun to watch people get pissed because they got hit by a headshot.

They whine, saying either:

1. That Hanzo is a no skill character.
2. That the Hanzo player is an idiot.

Or whatever, basically people like to s*** on the Hanzo for no real reason.

It's just funny to headshot 3 people in a row, while they continue to b**** that Hanzo sucks. And that's without using the "overpowered" scatter arrow. It's not overpowered, it's one of the few tools a Hanzo has to work with.

He also handles far differently from other characters, because he uses arrows. You have to adjust for the drop of the arrow, timing, and placement of the opposing player, unlike with bullets, which are almost instantaneously at their target

I think the problem people have with Hanzo is that a large number of people that main him (on attack of all things) suck with him and refuse to switch.

Also, scatterarrow is OP.
It crits with a shot at someone's feet and kills even most tanks in 1 shot.

The problem with scatter arrow isn't that it's a one-shot on most characters, but that's it's a one-shot that's so darn easy to hit. Aim at their feet, they're dead. Aim in a small room, they're dead. One time I literally killed the entire enemy team with a scatter arrow in Necropolis. Doomfist's punch requires a wall and good timing, Roadhog's old hook-and-cook oneshot required great aiming and timing. Hanzo's scatter arrow oneshot just requires pressing a button.

THAT BEING SAID, I don't think Hanzo is just a one-trick pony that's really easy to pick up. He's potentially one of the more difficult and technical heroes to play as, but he's also one of the best characters for new players. Because of that, 80% of the Hanzos you see are just low level players that happen to abuse scatter arrow and somehow headshot you 95% of the time.

As for headshots, I'm fine with the fact that his projectile is huge and easier to get headshots with. In fact I think Widowmaker also needs larger projectiles. Snipers don't really have that big of a presence in the competitive meta (except for flow3r's insane Widowmaker). People who whine about Hanzo's projectile size don't realize that it makes 100% perfect since for an arrow to be larger than a bullet, and that without the large projectile size, Hanzo's primary attack would be almost completely useless.

Unless you do competitive. If you do competitive, you should probably not main anyone. Competitive is also trash. Boo boring game. Hooray quick play.

I'd argue, if you are playing against a Hanzo, you need to not play into their skill set. As soon as I see the other team has a Hanzo, I switch my playstyle 100%, to avoid being hit. Hanzo and Widowmaker rarely get me, because I know those playstyles well.

I would argue that it's not that the move is overpowered, but that it takes playing unconventionally to avoid being killed. Not the move, or the player, but simply a lack of preparation seems to take out most people playing against Hanzo, at least from my experience. I can't count the number of times a player has forgotten that I (while playing Hanzo) was nearby, set foot into a choke point with no defensive abilities to keep them safe, and then get wrecked by a flank.

When I picked up the game, I only really played D.Va and Mercy. I play almost exclusively Hanzo these days, though, because his playstyle opens itself most up to having legitimate fun.

Comp seems to be the only way to get serious gameplay tho.... unless you get a thrower.
In QP, if someone is doing awful or pick someone that is completely useless, they just hide behind the all too annoying "Its just quickplay, who cares?" excuse.
I don't wanna lose cuz you refuse to change off your trash pick... IDK if its QP. I get more exp for winning and in turn more boxes... and isn't that what Overwatch is all about? Think of the boxes!!

I don't care much about boxes unless it's an event. Then I just spent 20 bucks and gamble.

I usually get the stuff I want, like I got Zenyatta's Cthulhu skin, which is f***ing baller, even though I rarely play Zenyatta. Might have to try more often though.
