I have a question for everyone. What's your most favorite Nintendo series? The only rule is that it must be first party. Mine would be legend of Zelda

F-Zero, without a doubt. I've grown to love the soundtrack each of its games has sported, I'm no big fan of having music while I play but the F-Zero games have always been the clear exception. Its last title, F-Zero GX, felt incredibly good for its time, on a much higher level than it's so called rival Wipeout has ever been. And what to say about F-Zero X, it was incredible to have 30 machines at the same time on the track back in the N64.

Too bad it has been discontinued, even if there are "successors to its will" it's not the same without the music, the locations and, of course, the characters. Such a shame, really, it could be absolutely awesome now that the Switch can compete "hand in hand" with its rival consoles unlike what happened to several of its predecessors.

For me it would be Mega Man. Mega Man is an awesome, iconic, and popular franchise. The NES had some very good Mega Man games. Mega Man 4 is one of my all time favorites followed by 3, 5 and 6 on the NES. The music was groovy and had some of the best soundtracks on the NES. The graphics and controls were just amazing. Overall, things do not get much better than that. I remember playing Mega Man games on the NES when I was a young' n they were just special. I still enjoy those games today as I did when they came out.

Mega Man is Capcom. Its not a Nintendo IP.

Mine would have to be Metroid. There isn't a single bad Metroid game in the whole series.
There is a reason that there are so many Metroidvania games these days. Its basically the perfect open world platformer. :3

For me it would be Mother. It's characters are charming, the gameplay is quaint, and the setting is just lovely. I'd say Nintendo's got a good track record on franchises.

I may surprise a few people on here. . .

I'm going to say Fire Emblem. Why? I've only played three games in the entire series: Awakening, Shadow of Valentia, and Shadow Dragon. I still have to complete Shadow Dragon, but as I took a step into this series, suddenly, everything I complained about lacking in Zelda games became present.

The series (So far) seems to care about it'a own continuity a lot. Some games have over 80 characters with tons of conversations to unlock between them--often filled with humor and development. The main characters in the series aren't super drab like so many VG protagonists. Just look at what Prince Marth went through at the beginning of his life. Check again on Alm and Celica over at Valentia. The main series protaganists are very likeable as characters. The games have many more interesting side character if you crave even more. The technical aspects of the game are deep--both in the lore and the actual gameplay.

For a turn based strategy RPG, it's honestly the most perfect game series I've ever found. Unlike Zelda, it doesn't make one recurring, reincarnated elf kid save a world full of cowards by marching into dungeons--oh no, it's much more epic than that.

Shadow of Valentia has the second best story I've ever experienced in a video game. The only game that has done better would be Knights of the Old Republic II.

I just can't get enough of it. I want to play as many fire emblem games as I can now. I simply love it. Fire Emblem, Shadow of Valentia is the best, best game I've played in a long time.

I really wish I had found this awesome series sooner.

Dark knight of the blackened sun. I am Sword Legion, one of many. My mask is thick, and my armor is strong. All the more necessary in a world such as this. . .

Paper Mario. I'm overlooking the fact that their most recent games haven't been too popular, because the first 3 are absolutely amazing. When I found the 64 version on vizzed, I was shell-shocked lol. I still remember the excitement I got when the opening screen came on and I felt like I was transported back in time. I'm crossing my fingers that the switch one will go back to the formula that worked, instead of trying and failing to be "creative".

My favorite series, without a doubt, would be the Mario series. I'm really just referring to the classic platformer games like: Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Land, Super Mario World, etc. I can't believe there hasn't been anyone else who has brought up this franchise yet. I think it has to be the most popular Nintendo series. It even had several cartoons that came on television back in the day.

For me it will be Pokemon, mainly because it was probably the very first series I had ever played and it's so easy to get into and put dozens of hours in. Dozens of games later, still loving playing them.

I'm taking a step the right and trying something different.  I think the Kirby series is the best Nintendo has to offer.  The games as platformers are immersive and allow for a variety of skills and abilities.  I remember getting excited with Super Mario 3 when I could be a frog, or fly, or get the Tycooni suit.  Kirby, on the other hand, allows for so much more.  It's creative, it's cute, it's fun to the point where you can laugh out loud at some of the action, and it's a nice game.

Graphically, the games are beautiful all the way up to current times.  The music was fun and atmospheric, the challenge wasn't terribly bad but enough to keep one engaged, and the overall experience was simply nice.  And the games were long enough to take time but not overly long or repetitive.

Kirby is the hidden crown jewel offered up by NES.

Personally, by my opinion, it would be Pokemon because the Pokemon series has gained a whole lot of popularity since the beginning 22 years ago. Some might say Mario is the best Nintendo series, which is true because after all, Mario is the face of Nintendo, but by the terms of sales, it would go to Pokemon.

I'm all Pokemon till the day I die.

Well, Kirby is great, due to all the abilities...but then Pokemon is a series that offers something to fans young and old. That's not to say that Mario doesn't do that. Mario has been a staple for me and many gamers for decades. Then again, Zelda is epic, what with the Triforces and the swords and all that.

But if you ask me...there can only be one. METROID. I mean, who hasn't had sweet dreams of Samus Aran and me kissing on Zebes 100%ing a great metroid game like Prime, Fusion, or Super Metroid?

It might be a small series, but Kid Icarus is the best Nintendo series to me.

After finding out about the series with Uprising for the 3DS in 2012, I picked up the other two games on 3DS immediately. I absolutely love the series and the three different variations of the series games. It is just amazing to me how this series came back 25 years later and came back stronger than ever as a 3D platformer and a hidden gem to the 3DS library.

Mario, but only the 3D Mario games. Every 3D Mario game to date has been innovative and absolutely incredible. 2D games have gotten super stale and I kinda thought that Nintendo wasn't going to make 3D games anymore (3D world wasn't that great and came out 5 years ago). Mario Odyssey, though, dayum. This game is legitimately one of the greatest video games I have ever played. Everything is so well-made and fun. And it reminds me that, before this wave of boring-ass "New" Mario games, each and every installment of a 3D Mario game has performed exceptionally well.

First of all, whoever added that sound clip from Dragon Ball Z (I think) that I can't turn off, you make me sad. Secondly, my favorite series is Metroid, and I think it's the best thing Nintendo ever did. Anyone who denies or disagrees with this will be eliminated in the next 24 hours...

*cough cough sarcasm*

EDIT: Please disregard my registration name... that was a phase .

It's tough to pick just one, but I would have to say the Mario series. When it comes to the first three in the Super Mario Bros series, those are classic, with SMB3 being my favorite, and SMB2 being my second favorite. Then you have Super Mario World, which is so damn fun to play, and I love that game. I can play it over and over. Of course I enjoy the Metroid series, Kirby, and a few others as well.

My favorite nintendo series would have to be The Legend of Zelda. I finally finished Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask a few years ago and I loved them!
