Donkey Kong Country

Ground breaking
Donkey Kong country (snes)
Graphics:10
This game was touted for its revolutionary graphics, they push the system to its limits and makes it look so good that no other game on this platform can match it, hell it even beats most N64 Games in terms of eye candy.Just to solidify this look at some N64 or PS1 games and you really see how ahead of its time DKC is. One cool fact is that when Nintendo saw the imense graphics the developer Rare had achieved they initially thought they were tricking them, and when Nintendo realized they were legit they immediently granted rare permission to make a donkey Kong game.

Sound:9
Sound is clear and atmospheric, very much up to the standard that Nintendo sets which many developers fail at.Rare however doesn't which you come to expect from rare as they are truly exceptional (Microsoft buyout? I don't remember such a thing...)
However the songs are not as memorable as other soundtracks but really who plays a game for sound?

Addictiveness:10
DKC is one of those games you get immersed in as 30 minutes turn to 3 hours and 1 hour turns into 1000 years....well ok maybe not that extreme but you get the point. If you doubt that then go on play it, I'll see you 10 hours because it has that effect on casual Kirby players to those 1337 MLG PRO players....

Story:7
The game starts with donkey Kong finding out that someone has stole his bananas and must employ the help of dk junior to rescue his bananas. This is DKC major problem in some peoples eyes but you know what? Its not major at all! Super Mario bros story is rescue the princess from a giant turtle reptile thingy.Which one in the franchise you ask? ALL OF THEM! No joke and its still hailed as a masterpiece of its time and if a bad story turns you off then you will have a hard time liking most retro games.

Conclusion (Thank god...)
Overall DKC is one of the killer apps on the SNES and is treated as such.It has 2 good sequels but if... Read the rest of this Review
