Super 3D Noah's Ark
09-30-19 06:50 AM
A Dishonest Service

This game is called Super Noah's 3D Ark. The game was published and produced by Christian gaming company Wisdom Tree. The game was released to the Super Nintendo back in 1994.

I'm going to say that finding information about Wisdom Tree is kind of hard to come by. All I know about them is that they were known to release unlicensed games to various home consoles mainly anything by Nintendo. Why they singled out Nintendo mainly is something I will never know.

So here are my thoughts and review on Super 3D Noah's Ark.

Graphics 9: The graphics look good. As they should seeing as the game runs off the old Wolfenstein 3D engine. I found it hard to not just stop and look at the game. Pretty much that's the only positive i have to say about the game.

Sound 4: The sound is bad. I mean really bad. half the time it would cut out on me for no real reason. When the sound did work it was not worth listening to.

Addictive 1: The game is no very addicting at all. Unlike Wolfenstein 3D where i could sit and play for hours Super 3D Noah's Ark i only played 30 minutes before I got bored.

Story 1: The story I guess is you play as Noah going through the ark collecting 2 of every animal. Yes, the story is more or less taken from the Bible. Keep in mind that this game is from Wisdom Tree who were notorious for their Bible related video games. I dunno I found the story boring just like i find reading the Bible from where this story comes from boring to read as well.

Depth 3: The game only has 6 very easy stages to go through. Keep in mind this game is geared towards kids.

Difficulty 2: The game is easy. I mean real easy. I managed to get through the game in an hour. Keep in mind that this game is a direct rip-off of Wolfenstein 3D so they levels and layout are pretty much the same.

Rating 3.3: The game is not f... Read the rest of this Review
Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero

Sub Zero

First off I want to say that I am a big Mortal Kombat fan. I have played through and mastered the the 4 16 bit games. So when I heard that my favorite character Sub Zero got his own spin-off game I was excited. That excitement however, quickly faded.

So what are my thoughts on Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub Zero? Lets fond out as I review the game.

The game was published and developed by Midway for the Play Station 1 and saw release on October 1, 1997.

Graphics 9: I was surprised at well the game looked. Every character is very well detailed and animated well. Yeah you'll go through the same areas a lot but that's to be expected in games like this.

Sound 6: The sound is okay. The sound effects are hit or miss. Like there were times the sound would cut out on me. At those time i thought i had muted the game or my computer with out realizing it. Turns out I did not. Now when the sound does work the music is done really well. Dan Forden (the games composer) did an amazing job. He never really gets a lot of the credit he deserved.

Addictive 2: I am not to likely to play through this game again. If you do play it its a game you go through once and that's it.

Story 4: The story is set prior to the events of the first Mortal Kombat game. It follows Sub Zero as he is hired by Quan Chi who tasks him with stealing a map from a Shaolin Temple. To be honest i lost interest in the story quickly.

Depth 4: The game is not really all that deep. You will be seeing the same areas many times. Also the game take maybe 2 hours to complete.

Difficulty 5: The game is kind of middle of the road in terms of difficulty. Playing the game for the first time for this review I was able to go from beginning to end without much difficulty.

Rating 5: The rating of the game is a 5. I felt that it was a good rating seeing... Read the rest of this Review
Resident Evil: Survivor

Survive or Die!

I'm going to start off saying that I am a huge fan of the Resident Evil series (known as Biohazard in Japan). I can't begin to tell you how many different times I've play through PS1 trilogy of the years. But it is a lot. In fact Resident Evil was the first game I got with my PS1 over 20 years ago. But I'm not here to talk about the lesser know spin-off of the franchise called Resident Evil Survivor.

Resident Evil Survivor was developed by TOSE (yea I've never heard of them either) and published by Capcom. It was released in North America on August 30, 2000. The game is touted as a Light-gun shooter, while that is true for the European and Japanese versions in the North American version it is not. I'll get into why its not for North America a little later on. But for now here are my thoughts on Resident Evil Survivor.

Graphics 5: The graphics are pretty hit or miss. On the one hand the pre-rendered environments are really great too look at. On the other the characters are to pixilated and lack detail.

Sound 9: The sound is amazing. Its what you'd expect from a Resident Evil game. From the zombies shuffling along to the music that plays ominously in the background teasing you that something might jump out at you around the next corner or through the next door.

Addictive 5: The game, while fun, is not very addictive at all. The game does offer branching paths but in the end they all take you to the same areas. Once I played through the game I felt no need to replay it.

Story 6: You play as a guy named Vincent, who after a helicopter crash, wakes up in Raccoon City trying to remember who he is. As you go through the game Vincent starts to have flashbacks of who he really is. For a Resident Evil game its an okay story. I never found the story too interesting.

Depth 5: The tries to have depth by offering branching paths. While that is great and each pa... Read the rest of this Review
Simpsons, The (4 Players World, set 1)

The Simpsons

The Simpsons arcade game remains one of my favorite arcade beat-em-ups of all time. Not only that but the show the game is based on still remains one of my favorites of all time as well. The first time I ever played the game I was 5 years old and saw it in my Local Chuck E. Cheese. Since then it has remained one of my favorite games of all time.

The Simpsons arcade game was developed and published by Konami (you know, before they went downhill) and released to North American arcades March 4, 1991. In Japan the game saw release there on August 11, 1994.

I'm going to say right off that I recommend this game. That said I could just stop the review right now and be done with it. But I wont. So that said lets see why I recommend the game in my review of The Simpsons.

Graphics 10: The graphics are very bright and colorful. The characters are very detailed and the backgrounds look amazing. Not once did I ever get tired of looking at the game as I was playing through it.

Sound 10: What good is a video game without sound? Not a very good one I bet. Luckily this game has amazing sound. The music is fun and catchy to listen to and never gets old. The sound effects from the attacks to the characters voices are also great to listen to.

Addictive 10: Oh boy is this game addicting to play through. I ended up playing through the game 5 times prior to writing my review because I was having so much fun with it. It is one of those arcade games that once you pick up you wont want to stop playing.

Story 9: The story is kind of a down note for me. The story goes the Simpson are walking through Springfield where they bump into Waylon Smithers who ends up kidnapping Maggie after she accidentally mistakes a diamond he had just stolen as her pacifier. They then take off after him in hopes of rescuing Maggie.

Depth 9:The game boasts of 9 different l... Read the rest of this Review
Battletoads

Battletoads

Battletoads is one series that I have fond memories of. Over the years I have played and beaten every version of the games multiple times except for the arcade version.

I had no idea there was even an arcade version of the series until I had gotten my copy of the Rare Replay for my Xbox One and saw it was one of the titles. So imagine my happiness to see the game on this site under the arcade section. I knew I had to play it again for this review. and I am glad I did. it is a fun time.

Battletoads was released to the arcades in 1994. The game was developed by Rare (I miss that company) and published by Electronic Arts (remember when they were good?).

Graphics 9: The game may be 25 years old now but it still looks amazing. The many times I played through the game i never got tired of looking at it. There is virtually no screen tearing at all.

Sound 10: Not only does the game look amazing but it also boasts amazing sound. From the amazing rock music being played throughout the game to the sound effects of the enemies and the attacks. it does not get old to listen to the game as you play.

Addictive 10: The game is extremely fun and addictive to play. prior to my review I ended up playing through the game 3 times once with each toad. I can't recommended this game enough. In fact I'm going to play through the game again after i finish this review.

Story 2: There's not much of a story to the game. You go through 6 different levels till you beat the game and that is it.

Depth 4: There is not a lot of depth to the game. You go through 6 very different levels punching and kicking rodents and mutants till you get to the end of the stage where you fight a boss.

Difficulty 7: Since most people are likely to be playing the game on MAME its kinda hard to judge how difficult the game really is seeing that you just add credits... Read the rest of this Review
