How could I forget this Game?
After I reviewed Wii Sports Resort, how could I forget to review this game? This game came on pretty much all Wii's that came out and is one of the most sold games in the world because of it.

Graphics: 5 There are simple graphics for the game. The new system of Mii's at the time were very simple (and still are today) of representing a player as an avatar in the game. The stages that the players go into are nicely detailed (although boxing looks like it's just too dark and the audience is a bunch of 2D textures. Baseball isn't much better, with the audience just being a whole textured panel, no joke). The graphics are not too bright and cartoony, but not too dark and depressing either, like it's just in the middle while feeling realistic at the same time. The rating should be a 5.5~ish but Vizzed won't let me do that.

Sound: 7 The music is nice and relaxing when in the menus, and the sound effects (crowd cheering, etc.) makes you hyped and determined to beat your friend in the game. It also is the first game to show how the sound effects can come out of the Wii remote when needed. Not much else to say here other than you can hear no compression in the audio (which is good because the disk has so much space because the game is so small compared to other games on the market/Wii Shop Channel.

Addictiveness: 7 This game is fun for a while, but then gets kind of boring once you see that there's Wii Sports Resort sitting right next to the game cover on your shelf. Don't get me wrong, for the time that it came out it was revolutionary, but I mean, Resort though... It is almost better in every way... Doesn't  matter though, it's still fun to play games like boxing and golf with your friends and get a nice exercize while doing it.

Story: N/A I have no idea what the story is. You're some guy doing sports? On some contract around the world? You make it up I don't know, there's no story given to you ... Read the rest of this Review

One of the best PS1 games of all time
It's been a while since my last review so I thought why not try to do one now?

This has always been one of my favorite games to play because of the sort of realism this game had to it unlike other PlayStation 1 games at the time.

Graphics: 7 The graphics are actually pretty good for a PlayStation 1-era game. The environments seem like they were real places that were ripped out, compressed a lot, then put into the game. The characters also have detail to them and it is not hard to tell who is on your team and who is the enemy.

Sound: 8 The sounds effects are, well, just that. Sounds. Which are made up of gunshots, explosions, etc. The overall environmental sounds however are a different story. They are crucial to the mission and if you hear footsteps coming form down the hall that you're in, it means there will be trouble. It puts that feeling of suspense and realism into the player that makes them more careful when they do the mission to not mess up and have to restart.

Addictiveness: 8 It is a fun game to play, though some later games in the series are more fun and have more things to do. It still is an impressive attempt of a realistic hostage crisis situation, which will be more explained in the next point.

Story: 7 The year is 1999, terrorism rates have risen and an anti-terrorist team known as Rainbow has formed. They go all around the world, freeing hostages, taking out bad people, etc. This is truly an impressive plot for a PlayStation 1 game that had never really been attempted before (except in the PoliceQuest SWAT series, but they were not first person until SWAT 3, which came out the same year as Rainbow Six!). The amount of depth the story goes into will be in my next point...

Depth: 8 This game has a lot of stages and a lot of plot points to memorize in between stages. The stages themselves often have more than one mission to do (capturing multiple hos... Read the rest of this Review

A sequel to a fun timekiller
What a heck of a game that we have here. This game was one of the most fun of the WII games that came out for the console. I played this against my sibling and my friends and I would dominate at things like swordplay.

Graphics: 7 The graphics are simplistic, yet detailed enough to somewhat look realistic. You play with your own mii that you make on the console (or just choose one of the pre-made guest mii's that they have included) and the whole map looks like it would fit the looks of a mii and not have a colorful character in a realistic and dark world.

Sound: 8 It has music that is nice to listen to at times. The music can also match the situation of the game that you are playing. Other thanthat the game has basic sound effects.

Addictiveness: 8 The game is simple and fun enough to play for anyone. It has enough games to keep you occupied for hours with either a computer opponent, or another real person that you could play against like a sibling.

Story: N/A Well, there's not much here. You are a person who goes to a resort and plays sports and stuff. I don;t know of any  other story to really put here to technically qualify as one unless you literally make up your own backstory for your character.

Depth: 7 There is a lot to do in this game, whether it is fight against A.I. opponents in swordplay, or race against them around the island, It is your choice what to do in this game and you can complete the games in any order you want.

Difficulty: 8 The game starts out quite easy, but the computer opponents can get quite hard later in the game. Especially Swordplay Duel, which in some of the later stages, can get pretty hard. Sometimes the achievements are hard to get too depending on which one you want to get.

OVERALL: 8.6 The game is fun and can be played for 10 minutes or even over 1 hour. It is fun to challenge yourself against your friends... Read the rest of this Review

One of the best indie games I have played in years
I have seen this game in a lot of places. When it came out on the Xbox 360 a couple of years back I thought about getting it, but my stupid self wanted to get other games like the Newly-released (at the time) Minecraft, or Castle Crashers, thinking that those games would be better than a "simple side-scrolling game".

I was wrong.

I got the game about a year or two ago on the PC (on sale I think?) and would like to give my opinion on it.

Graphics: 9 The graphics in this game are very unique, they are 4k resolution sprite sheets that the characters and the landscape uses. Which is good because it gives it more of a "hand drawn" appearance that would make it resemble an anime or webcomic (which I like both of those genres) so it was a good choice, but the bad part comes with the fact that the game is surprisingly CPU-heavy and I didn't figure out why until I started to look at the graphics more closely. Also the characters are detailed and the game also has post-processing and other effects that make the game look better with each setting.

Sound: 9 What is there to say? The music is a beautiful arrangement of action-adventure music made with an orchestra, it sounds great. The music fits well with the scenery and similar to Undertale (another favorite indie game of mine), it doesn't get old and still sounds great every time you listen to it, whether it is in a stage or if you are just listening to the soundtrack online, it is still great music. The sound effects are pretty cool too, that also match in with the environments perfectly.

Addictiveness: 8 It is a fun side-scrolling game that is full of things to do and will keep you occupied on it for many hours. The game is great, although it needs a little more to it, I will explain on the depth.

Story: 10 It is an interesting story about YOU, the protagonist, Dust waking up in a field with a sword named Ahrah that is calling y... Read the rest of this Review

The other port of DOOM everyone forgets about
I want to say something quick to clear things up. I did not own a Sega 32x, I may have owned a Genesis at some point, but with no expansions. I found the emulator later on and decided to try it out.

Graphics: 7 Pretty much the PC version on terms of graphics and not pixellated like the Super Nintendo port. Nothing more to say other than the better performance as it uses the original game engine.

Sound: 5 This is exactly what killed the port, it is the exact opposite of the Super Nintendo port. The sound effects are good but the music is terrible! Who thought it was a good idea to do this to E1M2!?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbroOMBYBYU PC version for comparison: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=re0A23CSvpw

At least E1M1 is okay for the most part other than some minor compression, as it used the Sega Genesis' inferior sound card compared to the Super Nintendo. E1M3 and on sound like trash, turn music off when you play. Or even better, play the PC music for each stage.

Addictiveness: 6 More playable than the Super Nintendo port, I'll give it that. PC version is always better though, so keep that in mind when you play.

Story: 5 Same Mars base and demon problem as seen in the other ports. You are the last marine on the planet, so go put an end to them. Pretty much the same simplistic story that is in any DOOM game (except DOOM 3, that one had a good story if I remember).

Depth: 7 It was pretty big for a game on a 16-with-a-32-bit-expansion console. Not really any other game on the console that was in pseudo 3.D. and had many levels to it. The game was different from others at the time.

Difficulty: 7 Easier to play than the Super Nintendo port, although same as the PC version, so not too difficult.

OVERALL: 6.8 I would have given it a higher rating than the Super Nintendo port, but the music hurts my ears too much... Read the rest of this Review
