Bust-A-Move 2: Arcade Edition Music is very glitchy, unfortunately. Strange, since Bust-a-Move 4 works perfectly.
Kirby & the Amazing Mirror It's not too surprising. This is well-known as the most polarizing of the core Kirby games, due to the differences that set it apart. There are plenty of reviewers who have even rated this as a mediocre game, solely because of the music and aesthetic.
Sonic Epoch Well, I touched the game and immediately stopped after Sally was ready to commit suicide just over Sonic. I know the story behind the game and know it was very good for its time, but the characters and story are just so awful...
Klonoa Heroes - Densetsu no Star Medal Oh, and I might also post a weapon types guide once I beat this game a second time, although it won't be too easy since I have to figure out all of their strengths and weaknesses without any pointers. I only know the OP weapon types.
Pokemon Yellow I remember when I was introduced to this game for the first time, a year or so after I started playing Gen 3. I had no idea at the time that there was anything before it!
Bosconian One of the Namco plug-and-plays exposed me to this game (although that version lacked diagonal control), and I'm so glad it did. This is such a fun, intuitive game that I find myself playing time and time again.
Pokemon Versao Master This is some fine quality right here. Sheesh, it reminds me of Kid Kool, although with it being a hack of Psycho Fox, I guess it should be reminding me of that...
Klonoa Heroes - Densetsu no Star Medal This is such a fun little game. Even after I played through its entirety and even reviewed it in full, I find myself doing yet another playthrough of it, although this time actually knowing what to do and what ALL of my controls are.
Yoshi "Pure puzzle panic with Yoshi and friends" ...Which friends? The Mario enemies? T_I
Kirby\'s Adventure 2 To those stuck at 1-1: the platform right beside the wall of bricks is actually a pipe!

Metroid Fusion
01-22-16 10:55 PM
A bright gem worthy of being Super Metroid's sequel
Foreword: I suppose it’s only right if I stuck with reviewing a few more platform/adventure games for now. They're my strong suit, so I should definitely keep writing up reviews on these guys as I continue to try and improve.

Metroid Fusion was the first Metroid game I have ever played, alongside Metroid Prime. While it might be the case that I simply don’t remember it, I never saw the commercials for any of the Metroid games and never asked for them. Nonetheless, I got them, and I don’t regret being introduced to this amazing series.

==Overview==
Metroid Fusion is a game for the Gameboy Advance that was developed and published by none other than Nintendo in late 2002. It is a very polarizing title to Metroid fans for several reasons. For one, this addition to the series is far more story-driven than most of the other titles, causing the gameplay to be more linear, much to the dismay of many seasoned fans of the series. At the same time, unlike a certain other game in the series, they use this linearity well, for reasons I will mention soon enough. But what do I think of the game as a whole?

==Story: 9/10==
I’ve decided to explain this before the other categories since I’m going to be constantly referring to what I talk about in here through the rest of the review.

Metroid Fusion, as was just previously mentioned, is much more story-driven than its previous counterparts, and 100 percent more talkative. This is one of the games in the series that really has dialogue-driven story, and it shows right from the intro, which is admittedly long, boring, and slightly unnecessary. Would it be too much to ask for faster text scrolling? It requires a prompt to continue, anyways. First Super Metroid, and now this game.

Intro aside, the story is something that I can get behind.

It starts off with Samus being asked by the Federation to assist a survey group as they explore the surface of S... Read the rest of this Review
Sparkster

The spinoff to Konami's mascot: Does it soar like the original?
Foreword: After having reviewed Rocket Knight Adventures, it only made sense to go ahead and review Sparkster on the SNES, a game that I didn’t discover until much later (at the time, I thought that he only had one game!), but is still a very enjoyable game nonetheless. This game never even got the popularity or praise that the original game did (nor did Sparkster: Rocket Knight Adventures 2 on the Genesis), but how well does it actually stand?

==Overview==
Sparkster is a spin-off from the hidden Genesis gem, Rocket Knight Adventures, developed and published by Konami in late 1994, only a few months after the official sequel, also titled Sparkster, was released on the Sega Genesis. Despite having the same name, as well as the same boxart, these are two completely different games, with different mechanics and levels. Unlike the other two games, however, the spin-off was released on the Super Nintendo, instead.

This game also stars the oddly lovable opossum knight, Sparkster, only with a much-improved jetpack that will have you flying around in no time, although controls are very slightly more complicated (still more intuitive than Rocket Knight Adventures 2, a game I may review in the future). The mechanic of the game is almost identical to the original Rocket Knight Adventures: hold down the attack button, hold a direction, and let go. However, this time, the jetpack charges faster, and you can recover it using a new move, simply labeled as a roll, which is normally assigned to the L and R triggers, one for each direction. He deals a light attack while using it, too, so you can bulldoze through enemies in the process. But will these new abilities and better jetpack be enough to impress?

==Graphics: 10/10==
Konami just finds ways to make things look beautiful.

Sparkster has such amazing overall aesthetic, it’s hard to think about where to start.

Let’s start with the shading of the game. There was ... Read the rest of this Review

An opossum strapped to a jetpack and heavy armor...what's not to love?
Hey everyone, it’s about time I made a third review, wouldn’t you all say? After a lot of tossing things up in the air, I finally decided to do a review on another hidden gem I uncovered very early in my childhood (thanks a ton, dad), Rocket Knight Adventures.

*ZOOM*

The blue blur speeds into the video game market, taking so many conventions of platforming at the time and turning them on their ear. This is one of the most recognized “fights” in gaming history, when Sega created an anthropomorphic mascot built around speed and maneuverability in order to contest Nintendo’s retro age reign. And they did a mighty good job, too, with the mascot eventually turning into a fad in the early 90’s with other game-making companies at the time. Some were big-time companies looking to cash in on the trend, while others were up-and-coming companies trying to find their first mascot.

Whatever the reason, the video game market in the 90’s certainly didn’t have a lack of animal mascots. Many of the more “famous” mascots today from that era are known for all the wrong reasons, examples being Bubsy the Bobcat, Speedy Gonzalez (one of the most blatant rip-offs), and Awesome Possum, to name a few.

However, once upon a time, Konami was seen as one of the grandmasters of game creation (not to say they’re bad, but they were certainly more of a forefront at the time, if only because of a lack of other notable companies). Much like Rare at the same time, they could nearly do no wrong. And this held true when they finally decided to bring their talent into the realm of animal mascots (it was only a matter of time). Then, in 1993, this new mascot, an opossum knight by the name of Sparkster, finally starred in his first game, Rocket Knight Adventures.

Rocket Knight Adventures is a game for the Sega Genesis, and the first game starring Konami’s very own opossum kn... Read the rest of this Review

Super Mario Bros 3: The Standard all Platform Games Abide by
EDIT: Whoops, for some reason the scores cleared out on the ratings. I've fixed that.

From a completely unknown game, to the game just about everyone knows about, I take my reviewing lens here and focus it on an all-time classic, Super Mario Bros 3.

== Overall ==
Super Mario Bros 3 has been universally acclaimed throughout its 25+ year history at this point, so there's really not too much for me to explain that isn't already known. However, I may as well explain a bit as precaution.

Super Mario Bros 3 is the last of the trilogy of games released on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES for short). It was released in 1989, after being shown in the feature film "The Wizard." Its hype and commercializing were obviously well-justified; even today, this game is seen as the greatest NES game ever made, and is still referenced in many ways. Its formula is also still used as a baseline in most platform games to this day. But what makes it so great?

Note: I will once again avoid going over story in this review, although I will give a score for it, since technically there actually is story in here. There’s really no reason to go over the obvious story that encompasses almost all mainstream Mario games, being the simple “save the princess” cliché that it is, and if you’re looking at this game for story, then, quite frankly, you should look somewhere else.

== Graphics: 10/10 ==

Super Mario Bros 3, right up there with the likes of Kirby's Adventure (a game that came out in 1990), had graphics that further defined the golden years of Nintendo. As far as the NES went, the graphics were the prime of its time. The detail and color of the sprites, the beautiful backgrounds, and the smart overall design less to one of the most beautiful games of its era, and clearly pushed the limits of the NES altogether, while still keeping the game itself from lagging (something that Kirby's Adventure was unable... Klonoa Heroes - Densetsu no Star Medal

Klonoa Heroes: Is this GBA RPG of Namco's animalian mascot worth it?
Wow, I didn't think I'd post my first overall review on a game that can solely be played in a language I don't understand...

Even with the language barrier, though, it's hard for me to ignore this game's bit of charm, but let's see if I can put that into words.

An advance warning: I realize that this review is probably sub-par, so be warned, and please let me know what I can do better for, potentially, a next review.

==Overall==
Klonoa Heroes: Densetsu no Star Medal (translates roughly into Klonoa Heroes: Legendary Star Medal) is a fairly barebones RPG game that was only released in Japan, and therefore, can't be played in English. While there have been some attempts to fan translate the game, the best one I was able to find was still only about 3/4 complete, and contained very broken English (most likely, it was done through direct translations, straight from the original text).

While I do know that for most, a basic RPG can be somewhat of a letdown, especially if you're an exceptional fan of such games. However, to me, this was actually quite the opposite; it was a relief. This seems like a rather neutral point in the vast general public, though: on one hand, RPG fans are used to more lengthy and open-ended RPGs, while on the other hand, most people who may not be fans of the genre will find enjoyment in this game's simplicity.

A quick note before I continue: The story is rather decent to what I have translated (albeit poorly) on hand, but I sadly can't deem a score without knowing the full thing, and many portions seem to be missing from the climax in specific, which is easily the most important thing in the story (with the buildup being a close second). If I don't know that, I don't feel that I can give the story an accurate score. Despite this, I feel that I can judge the other aspects of the game well enough to give a rather accurate overall score.
