Itachi_4_ever's Last Game Comments | Walt Disney\'s Jungle Book Rhythm n\' Groove | It's a bit sad that this game only has 6 plays. It's a lot of fun if you give it a try. Even my brothers, who were all about shooters and fighting games, liked it. I'll make it my mission to get more users playing this game :D |

Amplitude 08-09-15 03:30 PM |
Guitar Hero without guitars. On crack. That to me describes the Playstation 2 game Amplitude to the T. I love rhythm games, they’re one of my favorite genres so when I saw that game in one of the few stores you can still find ps2 games here, I had to buy it. The cover also spoke to me with names like David Bowie, Pink and Run DMC. I mean, you just can’t go wrong with David Bowie. And, I was not disappointed even though it was far from what I expected. Not to say that was a bad thing. On the contrary. Though I compare it to Guitar Hero in the title, the only thing that really reminded me of that was the way the notes you need to hit scroll down towards you and the colors of certain tracks. Other than that it is vastly different. Both in the style and the gameplay. Overall: 8.6/10 If you like rhythm games I definitely recommend this game. And even if you don’t usually play games like that, you can definitely still have a fun time with it. The essence of the gameplay is like you would expect from a rhythm game; hit the notes in time to the music. But Amplitude adds quite a few unique features to it that makes it stand on its own among all the other rhythm games I’ve ever played. You’re basically building the songs in this game. Each instrument and the voice has its own track and you need to get each instrument going by hitting a chain of notes. When that happens, the instrument/vocals the track stands for will keep going for a while. There are also certain power-ups that you can get if you hit a chain of power-up notes. The different power-ups I’ve encountered are auto-blaster, score doubler, freestyle and slow motion. The autoblaster lets you clear a track the... Read the rest of this Review |
Snorlax's Lunch Time 12-05-14 08:07 PM |
Feeding Snorlax I'm not going to make this very long, because there isn't much to say. The objective of this little game is to feed Snorlax. You need to press the Ctr key when food passes by. The sooner you press, the more points you get. There are three categories: great, good and okay. But if you press while a Pichu is on Snorlax' plate, you lose. There's not much depth to this game. But if you have a minute to spare, I guess you could enjoy yourself with that. It's called Pokémon Mini for a reason. The graphics are pretty much in gameboy or old tamagutchi style. There's no sound. The level of addictiveness isn't high at all, but I can see myself playing this game again. Not a lot, but when I have very little time and want to beat my highscore. The story is merely feeding Snorlax, so that doesn't get much points at all. And depth is like non-existent because it's a mini-game with the emphasis on mini. It's not that difficult, so if you like easy mini-games, go for it, I would say. It's only 5 viz anyway : ) |
Altered Beast 12-05-14 07:49 PM |
Altered Beast Overall 8/10 I had this game when I still had my Sega Genesis (or Sega Mega Drive as it was called here in Europe) and as a child, it was never one of my favorites, but now, I can appreciate it a lot more. I didn't like it back in the days because it was too hard for me to beat. I did play it a lot though, always trying to get past level 3 - where I never managed to beat the boss fight. In this game, you get brought to life to safe Zeus daughter. She's taken by a demon that's apparently called Neff. I used to think it was Hades. That would have made more sense. But overall, it's a fun game, and still a challenge, seeing as even now that I'm 23 I still haven't managed to get to the end yet. (I did get further than I used to though!) The most fun about the game for me is seeing which animals you become to beat the boss. And the attacks that come with it. Graphics 7/10 For its time, the graphics were pretty good, and I never used to notice the little faults in it, but now that I'm older, I notice that the graphics glitch a bit. In the beginning with Zeus' apparition for example, and whenever Neff morphs into bubbles to summon that level's boss. It may seem like nitpicking, but it bothers me a bit. The style also doesn't really speak to me. However, I still rated it a 7 because the beasts and bosses are nicely designed for that time. Sound 7/10 Well... this is a tough one. The voices annoy me. And as a child, I was never able to understand what Neff said when he said "Welcome to your doom." But nevertheless, sentences like those are memorable, as is the background music that has a creepy vibe to it. The "Power Up!" when you catch a special ball seems unnecessary to me, but other than that, I think the sound's okay. Addictiveness 6/10 It's not a long game, so I ... Read the rest of this Review |
Walt Disney\'s Jungle Book Rhythm n\' Groove 12-04-14 06:32 AM |
Jungle Book Rhythm n' Groove Overall 9.5/10 If you like Disney and rhythm games, this is the game for you! Although only two-three songs in the game are the same as in the movie, the other songs are really fun as well, and you can get addicted to them fairly quickly. The main mode is Story mode, and you can choose to play alone or in team. The single mode of this game is excellent if you've got some time to kill and don't know what else to do. It takes a bit longer than half an hour to go through it. It's not too hard, but not to easy either. It all depends on the difficulty level you choose. If you're older than 12, I suggest you start with Normal and just skip easy, because it will be far too easy for anyone who has reasonable reflexes. Graphics 7/10 Honestly, if you're the kind of person that plays games for the graphics, this game isn't for you. You definitely don't play this game for the graphics you're presented with. Although the cut scenes that are shown are a different story. But during the games, the graphics are sadly not so good. Personally it doesn't bother me, because I like the gameplay and songs a lot, but in comparison to a lot of other ps1 games, it's definitely not on par. The cut scenes however are very nice to watch and the game art (loading screens etc) are of that same quality. Which is why I've decided to score this a 7. Sound 10/10 For me the sound deserves full marks without a doubt. The songs are fun and groovy (like the title of the game implies), there's quite a bit of variety to them too and the lyrics are easy to learn. I know all the songs by heart and actually sing along most of the time (except when the difficulty is on Crazy!) The songs are one of the main reasons why I absolutely wanted to own this game again. You'd think that unknown songs would put you down. And I remember that when I was 11 and I first played this game, I was disappointed that it didn't have all the same songs as in the movie, but that disappoi... Read the rest of this Review |
