Star Wars - Episode III - Revenge of the Sith 10-17-11 07:22 PM |
NOJ94'S REVIEW This is another game I personally own, game experience online might be slightly different due to the different controls slightly rising the difficulty of game-play. Summary: In case you didn't already figure out, this is a game based the third episode and final story of the Star Wars series. Anakin and Obi-Wan find themselves in middle of war between the Senate and the Separatists. As Anakin and Obi-Wan comes to the rescue of Palpatine, The Chancellor, who has been taken away Anakin and Obi-Wan find their rival Count Dooku. In the middle of the fight between the two heroes and the sith Obi-Wan gets knocked out forcing Anakin to fight for the rescue of The Chancellor himself. Once Anakin finally gets the upper-hand Palpatine wishes for Dooku's death. Anakin follows the orders and finishes him. Anakin's life from hereafter begins to spiral down a dark path. Story: The story is mainly what you see on your DVD. There is a slight variation here and there and occasionally there are parts of the original story that are put into more detail in this game. For example you (as Anakin)actually go into the Jedi Temple and slay all of the young padwans in hiding, which isn't really shown in the movie. The death of the young padwans is probably the saddest and least moral part of the game and I even question whether it should have been in the game. Also, there is a part in the game that is completely an addition to the story: there is a scene in which Anakin goes on top of city's buildings to fight off droids. Graphics:The art is similar to the original Clone Wars show they had on Cartoon Network several years ago. This could be bad for some but this form of heart did not affect my attitude toward this game very much. The graphics weren't bad but they weren't exactly wonderful either. Some enemies/droids looked fairly silly with some of the color selection. Sound:First of all there are no voices. I'm not to terribly surprised seeing ... Read the rest of this Review |
Pokemon Leaf Green 09-08-11 06:05 PM |
NOJ94'S REVIEW A few years ago I lost my beloved Emerald Version to a jerk (sad violin music playing in the background). My brother grew sick of his Firered and decided to give it to me since I lost my Emerald (thanks Alex!). This is a cut and paste review for Firered and Leafgreen because the games are almost completely the same. Story/ Goal: The goal of the game is to basically go on an adventure working your way to being the best is the extremely shorted idea of the game. Now for those who have absolutely no clue what pokemon is this is what it is; A young boy decides to go on an adventure and dreams to be the Pokemon Master but on the way he has to confront obstacles and an evil crime organization named Team Rocket. Pokemon are magical creatures that people catch (using pokeballs) and use in battle. Each Pokemon has their own strengths and weaknesses based on the type they are, it’s almost like a game of rock, paper, scissors. The most common and most obvious example is the water, fire, grass combination, water douses fire, fire burns up grass, and grass drains water. To strengthen your pokemon you need to battle and battle and battle, there is no other way to get them stronger (besides one or two exceptions if you are a technical nerd.) You start off your adventure at the famous scientist’s lab named, Professor Oak in which he will allow you to choose one of three pokemon. When you set out you have two goals: Get all the badges so you can fight the Elite Four and become the champion, and the second goal is to catch all of the pokemon. To reach the top you need to find and capture pokemon, once you’ve done that and have strengthened them to where they can challenge the Gym Leaders you go fight the Leaders. You require all eight of the Gym badges but once you have them all you are give... Read the rest of this Review |

Pokemon Emerald 08-27-11 03:53 PM |
NOJ94'S REVIEW This is a fun game that I own and I decided to review it because I'm very familiar with this game. Summary: Same basic classical Pokémon game ideas; fight bad guys, be a Pokémon master, and of course "gotta catch 'em all!” this is a slightly different story of a kid who lives in a different Pokémon region and with it new Pokémon. Graphics: I'll be honest when I first bought this game I was amazed by how much better it was then the generation before but that is to be demanded in the first place ( If they made a game boy advance game that looked like the game boy color I would have problems). Let me go into detail about it. First of all, the battle scenes… The Pokémon look a lot cleaner and are a lot prettier...yes...even their backside. They attempted to give that white empty space where the Pokémon, stats, and option bar doesn't cover, they did a little better by adding a spot of the surroundings below each Pokémon so if you are at sea you sea water below you or if you are in a cave you see earth below you. Pokémon still don’t move when making an attack, it would be nice to see a fighting Pokémon pull back it’s fist right before it attacks or when a Pokémon is hit it actually responds to the severity of the hit. I’ve noticed a few cool things here and there, like when you walk by a puddle you can actually see your reflection on it which is a nice touch. I noticed that in Lilycove the waves don’t try to climb up the side of the cliff as water should, instead it seems to appear and disappear under them. Also the world of magical creatures seems to also have magic trees that seem to naturally grow in a perfectly straight rows and growing nearly exactly alike. Also, though they did improve about the backless building phenomena it still doesn’t work perfectly; when I walk behind an obviously tall building I st... Read the rest of this Review |
PokeMon Pinball 08-22-11 12:12 PM |
noj94's Review Lately I had a vacation with my family and the it was a 10 hour drive and this is one of the games I rediscovered and now I"m going to tell you what my feelings are for this game. Summary: The point of the game is to succeed in two goals; the obvious one being that you want to get as many points as possible to get the high score, the second being the Pokémon part of Pokémon Pinball in which you..."gotta catch 'em all!". Before the game begins you have a choice between the "Blue Version" pinball machine or the "Red Version" both have strengths and problems so it's really a matter of opinion which one you choose. The choice you make will NOT be a permanent choice so you can try both and decide for yourself. Also, to the best of my findings you can get all of the original Pokémon in both styles of pinball machine unlike the traditional Pokémon games. Once you choose which version you want to play a little screen will randomly go through settings in the original Pokémon games stopping at a place as soon as you send the ball flying. The goal, as I said, is to get the high score and get new Pokémon, to get Pokémon you need to (depending on which version you are playing) need to get the ball into Bellsprout's mouth or into Cloyster's shell that's when it's time to start catching them. Once you do so your next goal is to hit the shellder/ voltorbs 6 times, once you do so, certain Pokémon will appear which is predetermined by the setting you are at. When the Pokémon appears you need to hit it four times with the pinball and then you have the Pokémon. You will never get a chance to catch second or third evolutions in "the wild", if you want to get them you then have to evolve them by throwing the pinball into Slowpoke's mouth or into the hole Ditto is guarding. If you caught multiple Pokémon it will give you a li... Read the rest of this Review |
