Blood Bowl 2
10-03-15 12:29 PM
Intresting concept
Blood bowl 2 is a intresting game. It may on the surface look like medieval football but it is far different then that. This and the original is based on a board game from the 80s that had a small cult following. The game plays more like a turn based strategy game where instead of building army's you manage a football team but the focus is more on taking out the other teams players. Instead of quarters you take turns moving players around the field and rolling dice to attack the other team. Also the game takes place in the warhammer universe so expect many races of humans orcs, etc. If I had to compare this game to anything I would call this game fire emblem warhammer mutant leauge head coach football, along with a little Mario Party style randomness sprinkled in to it. Other wise the game is pretty fun as long as your not expecting a fast pased game.

Graphics 7/10- not the prettiest current gen game out there but there's nothing wrong here with the graphics either everything for me ran smooth and the tackle/ko animation s are pretty cool as well

Sound 7/10- again the sound is ok at best the announcers have a lot to say but you will be hearing them repeat themselves a lot during matches. The rest of it consists of fans in stadiums and grunts and groans

Addictiveness 9/10- Agian if you want a game that makes you use your noggin and use strategy to get a touchdown which is very hard to do but very reliving then you will have a hard time putting the controller down I just recently got a ps4 and have been stuck at work most of the time but this is my most played game so far

Story 7/10- I haven't really touched to Mich of story mode it's very rare for a football game to have on but it serves more of a tutorial for new players

Depth 10/10- There's a lot of Depth to this game you have to level up your team unless your in friendly match mode and every move you do could be costly if you spend a lot of time l... Read the rest of this Review
Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection

Great for newcomers for the series
Metal gear legacy collection is a great way for new comers of the series to start off. My only gripe about this package is the way it's set up. The game comes with 2 discs the first disc is basically the same as the he collection and includes metal gear solid 2, 3, and peace walker along with metal gear 1 and 2 (msx version) but you have to go inside metal gear solid 3s menu to access those games. They 2nd disc is only Metal gear solid 4 I believe it's exactly the same as the original ps3 release. My biggest problem with this set up is that Metal Gear solid 1 and VR missions are codes set up threw the psn network for you to download in the psx classics section on the psn so there not even on the disc but there still playable so as long as you don't mind the set being a little disorganized it's not a bad deal. Also this is understandable but most of the spinoff metal gear games are missing to like ghost babel and portable ops so if you were expecting those you might have to wait tell a very unlikely volume 2 to come out. Also in the collection you get 2 graphic digital novels but I have yet to try them out

If you haven't played any or don't know about this series the metal gear games has you sneaking around enemy's instead of being a super soldier killing everything and the story's useually pretty good featuring cold war conspiracy's and nuclear warfare. If you're not much with story based games you may not get the most out of the series

Metal gear- A little but hard to set down and play this one as its an 1980s game that didn't age well still good that it's on here though has lots of elements that made the future games great and this is still a great game. Just don't expect as much story as it's sequels   7.5/10

Metal Gear 2:solid snake- Truely a masterpiece considering its age again a 1980s game but with the exception of the graphics it feels just as good as the newer ones 8/10

Metal gear Solid- one of my al... Read the rest of this Review
Mass Effect Trilogy

One of the best modern games out there with a controversial ending
Mass effect is in my opinion on of  the best video  game  trilogy's out there. On the ps3 version unless  you buy  it digitally this is they only way to play the original game in  the series on the system so if you only have a ps3 this is the version you need to get. There  is so much to be said  about these games but the universe that this game creates will suck you right in like  a good sci fi story should and enough action in  it to keep it fairly balanced while making great use and improving upon the bioware choice system seen in its older games most  comparable to star wars: kotor. Although I  wouldn't normally compare a video game to a tv series/movie but this game  needs  an exception I would  say this is a lot better than most sci-fi movies and should be right up there with star trek and  star wars, but why would I say this? And which game in the series is the best?

Graphics 10/10   The graphics in these games  are absolutely stunning. Even though the first game may look a little dated its still a lot better than a lot more recent games. Mass Effect 2 improves the graphics by a lot and  theirs a huge difference graphically. It's easy to tell characters apart  and there animations are very impressive. Mass Effect 3 while maybe not quite a leap from me1 to me2 is still improved  upon some and like  the other 2 games  is on of the better looking games out there. I do have one problem though on ME1 it seems to glitch occasionally not enough to effect gameplay though but it may be a ps3 conversion problem

Sound 9/10
Again the sound is amazing like the rest  of  the game, the techno background music may be an  inquired taste that I'm  not really a huge fan of but in this case it actually fits really well with these  games so I liked it. Not to mention the techno ... Read the rest of this Review
Deadpool

Best worst game ever
*taken from my amazon.com review of Deadpool

If you go into Deadpool expecting this to be the god of war killer or the next arkham city you may be disappointed but if your looking for a silly game that pretty much parody's those I mentioned and a few others then this is the game for you. This is probably the most hilarious (and one of the few funny games) ever since Earthworm Jim on the snes. Unlike that game though I would recommend not playing this in front of your kids if you have them. The game while funny is very crude, violent, and there are sexual jokes but that's just how Deadpool is though as a character. The Voice acting in the game is amazing its probably the closet your gonna get to the real deadpool movie (Bryan Reynolds is not the real deadpool more of a normal character). If you have played Uncharted the voice of Deadpool may sound familiar as hes played by the same guy who voiced Nathan Drake from that game.

As for the gameplay like I said before this isn't the god of war or arkham city killer. It kinda plays like a dumbed down version of god of war with arkham style combos, however with it being dumbed down it kinda feels more like a old school beat em up (double dragon, streets of rage) with the batman dodge mechanic then anything. There are also gun fights in the game as well which feel like a typical 3rd person shooter nothing special other than the crazy one liners but it does its job. As for the length of the game it really depends on what you start on if you start on easy you will probably have the game beat in about 3-5 hours but if you play on the hardest difficulty it will probably double the length. Which I would recommend playing threw the hardest mode first unless you don't play games much as its much more fun and challenging.

Anyway this is a good game that deadpool and new deadpool fans will enjoy as long as your not expecting the Ryan Reynolds barakapool if your hard ... Read the rest of this Review
Spider-Man

On of the more underrated games of all time
Back in the 1990's Spider-man was basically the most popular marvel character out there even people who never picked up a comic book at the time had at least heard of him. So obviously merchandise based on spider-man was inevitable. Kids everywhere including me wanted just about every spider-man action figure out there so when a video game was released I had to get it. Now even as a kid in the year 2000 I didn't expect much out of a game based off of spider-man. My 8 year old self at the time was just learning that most licensed based video games at the time were not very good but since it was spider-man I didn't care. Much to my surprise this game was amazing. If you were a fan of Tony hawks pro skater you will notice some similarity's to the 2 games actually as it was made by the same company who made those games. As a matter of fact spider-man 2000 I believe even runs with the same engine and there are references to pro skater threw out the game as Easter eggs while pro skater 2 actually had spiderman as a unlockable character. Which was fine by me at the time as pro skater was on of my all time favorites as a kid (behind Mario and final fantasy).

So how does the gameplay work? Well its very primitive compared to the more recent Spider-Man games but in some ways that's a good thing. The outside levels play like a 2d platformer game set in a 3d world where you go from point to point with on level being an exception where you chase venom around town, while the indoor levels play like missions where you rescue hostages, fight bosses, etc theirs actually a lot of variety between missions so it never gets boring but if your a fan of Spider-man 2 the movie game you will probably be turned off as theirs no swinging threw an open world new York city. Myself I actually prefer this gameplay as its more intense and is a fairly challenging platformer game if you don't learn how to play unless your on kid mode of coarse. ...
