Sims 2, The - Pets

Don't bother
I'm not even going to bother going over everything because I can't. The game has to many glitches. I tried three times to load the game. The first time it wouldn't even load the second time I got to the start menu and the screen cut out and the third time I got to create a Sim but it was flashing. The screen itself was flashing. After a few minutes of fighting to try and build a sim I had gotten a headache and given up. A site admin needs to take a look at this and see what is going on if not remove the game all together. The flashing could give someone a seizure. Do not waste your viz on this. It is impossible to play it.

Great Game
So I love this game. It is not traditional Sims and that just adds to the wonder that is this game. I had this game when I was younger I remember when it first came out. That was 10 years ago and even now I still love it. So let's review what makes this game so much fun.

Graphics 6
Ok for graphics it could be better. Everything is really kind of block like and pixel. You can't really make out the faces of the Sims till you go to the cut aways. However the color scheme is very nice. Well done it gives the feel it was going for which is a city. The tones used make the streets seem dirty and the buildings look run down. Overall it adds to the feeling of the game.

Sound 7
I love the fact that I can turn the music off and still have wonderful sound effects. When I'm in my home I can hear the phone ring and some times it leads to random events or just funny prank calls. This emulator of the game has wonderful sound no cut outs or problems. Even how the game was made is nice. You get real sounding sound effects for different parts of the game.

Addictiveness 9
So I have played this game everyday for the last three days. I am completely addicted. Before I go to work, after work, up late. I can't wait till the next time I play it. Building my skills and completing the task to open new zones. I remember when I was young I would beat the game and do it all over again playing as a different group. And now I still feel that same way. I want to play it over and over again as a member of each of the different groups. While the plot stays the same and choices are pretty straight forward, how you design your urb and your home can always change.

Story 7
So the story is you play as an urb who is a member of one of four groups. You have the Streeties,The Richies, The Nerdies, and The Artisies. The story is the same no matter. Daddy BigBucks wants to take over the city and you have to stop him. Really basic story and after a few p... Read the rest of this Review
Animal Forest (English beta 2-12-10)

It's good not great
I want to score this higher but it has a few flaws and really is not my most favorite game. So let's being this review

Graphics 7
Ok I loved the graphics. They were good for the time period this game was designed in. Animal crossing (the American release) came out around the time Nintendo was going from the 64 to the cube. And this game shows elements of both systems. But that is all I can really say that is good. Here is my problem with the game. THE COLOR SCHEME. The colors are just way to bright. They almost look clownish. At least that is what I think.

Sound 6
Well I have said this in other reviews but I will say it again. I hate game music but I really hate this game music. It is the same annoying song over and over again. Even with the little dog playing his songs, they aren't any better.

Addictiveness 5
Not very. I can't say that this game has a lot to that draws me back. I do like how time moves and if you go away for say a week or two the characters noticed. Also weeds grow to show how much time has passed. More weeds grow when your not playing. However with the game you quickly run out of things to do. On holidays and certain days there is a bit more to do but beside running around and digging up weeds you really don't have much.

Story 4
Ok so the story starts out you are moving out on your own and you have to get a house work to pay for it and then nothing. Really nothing. I remember one game I started. I put the theory to the test that you could never pay off your house and nothing would happen. Turns out it was true. Other then working to get a bigger house there isn't much of a story. Some people have said that there is a way to become mayor. But I've had this game since it came out and nothing. I have paid my house off to max level and still nothing. Among other plot lines you can rebuild the museum but the game doesn't give you much of a reason why you should. Other then keepi... Read the rest of this Review
Yu-Gi-Oh! GX - Duel Academy

I like it
An overall good game. As far as card base games go this one has to my favorite. Both in real life and in video game form. Yu-gi-oh is a simple classic card base game. Let's talk about the video game and why I think the ratings I gave it fit.

Graphics 9
For a gba game this one has some pretty nice art to it. While there is very little animation to the game the art is still nice. Unlike the 8 to 16 bit form that Pokémon and other games take this game uses the same art as seen on the show it is based around. During cutaways you are looking at the same person as you would see on the show. This is a major benefit in my book. I can't stand when a game looks like small pixel blocks yet it is meant to be based on a well drawn show.

Sound 4
To be honest this rating is low because I hate game music. I just end up getting annoyed by the repetitive tones and turn the sound off. This game was no different. After only 10 minutes of listing to the sound track I turned off the sound and put on my own play list. I mean with a game like this were they have the same art they could have used the voice actors. But no. A chance was missed on the part of the game designers for this one. I would be more likely to leave the sound on if it had the voice actors. I'd get the feeling I was part of that world more so if I heard voices rather then background battle music.

Addictiveness 8
I can't stop playing this. I play it at least once a day if not more so. Even after I beat it I will be happy to reply it again with a new deck and see what new choices I can make. I can't find a reason that I wouldn't play this game again. It has been just so much fun. What I really like is how they test you can you can study for the test. I would play this game all over again just to score higher on those first few test.

Story 9
So the story goes that you are a new student at the dual academy and you start out in the red dorm. Your purpo... Read the rest of this Review
Ponymon Dawn (alpha 0.32)

Beautiful
A simple and wonderful hack. I gave this game a 9.5 because it really is a fun piece. While it is not finished it shows off a lot of where it is going. Let's talk about why.

Graphics 6

Graphics got a 6 for one reason. It is the same format as Pokémon and I don't like Pokémon either. I love the game but I hate how it looks. I love a game were I can sink into the world because it is so real. I know handheld game and I can't get that hence the reason I gave it a 6. Nothing wrong with it in fact the pony hacks are perfect. I love my little twilight and rainbow was so cute. I just don't like this format. Personal dislike of the format nothing that I found wrong with the hack.

Sound 5

No problem with that sound. Like all game music after a while it got on my nerves and I turned it off. But like with graphics this is another personal taste. The sound wasn't cutting in or out and didn't freeze or randomly stop. No problems I just wish games with natural sounds instead of background music.

Addictiveness 9

I have played this hack over and over again. Even with it not being finished I still love it. I really do hope that at some point it is finished. I don't think I'd ever stop playing the finished copy. The ponies are so cute and I can so put myself into the game. As far as a pony hack goes this one is top of its game.

Story 8

I love the story for Pokémon even if it is the same story more or less every time and I love this hack. I would love to see how the ponies play out and how the story goes. To catch Luna and train her to take her to the ponymon league would be awesome. I would love to see more of how events play out using ponies. What HMs can go with what ponies. Can the apple bloom pony evolve?  All questions I would love to see answered that would just add to how wonderful of a story and hack this is.

Depth 8

Again I know this is a Pokémon hack... Read the rest of this Review
