Welcome to the jungle!
(IMPORTANT: This review concentrates on the PC-version.)
So let's talk some more about the much discussed Far Cry 3. In my experience the game has divided its players into those who absolutely hate it and to those who adore it. Personally I'm somewhere in between there, since I haven't finished the entire game yet. Nevertheless I'm hoping to give some insights to those who are struggling with whether or not to give FC3 a try. I will mainly focus on the main campaign since I haven't played online multiplayer mode yet.
Graphics: 10 Simply. AMAZING. You start the game locked in a cage and when your captor crouches over you, I was personally overwhelmed by the beauty and detail of the characters. When your in-game big brother starts to undo your hands, you feel like touching his face through the screen since it is so realistic. There's not much worse to say about the surroundings, which is a combination of jungle and beaches somewhere in Thailand. I've already taken tons of screenshots and shared them on Steam, since anywhere you look you are definitely struck by the beauty of the tropics.
Sound: 6 Since we are most of the time surrounded by the ruins of ancient monuments, the music has somewhat of an ethnic vibe to it. Drums are definitely a big part of the soundtrack when you're exploring the jungle, to those who appreciate rhythm over melody. Nevertheless I wouldn't call the soundtrack that special, since after you stop playing you can barely remember the Main Theme. Since you're most of the time shooting away or running around, the music stays in the background but never really stands out. The soundtrack also includes some tracks by popular artists such as Skrillex, but since I'm not a big fan of dubstep myself this is quite the meaningless effort in trying to fish for fans of the genre.
Addictiveness: 6 When you're finished with all the necessary tutorials you're introduced to various activities you can do next to fol... Read the rest of this Review

Pokemon Pinball is awesome!
I have so much to say about this game. At first I intended to give Pokemon Pinball a quick try and then move on to other games, yet somehow I've played it every evening for this entire week. Like me, many gamers must think that there's too many franchise related pinball games out there but personally I'm glad that Pokemon Pinball was made. It may not interest those not into the Pokemon franchise, but who knows? Perhaps Pokemon Pinball is just the game that will make you fall in love with the Pokemon world.
Graphics 8 If you like the graphics in the regular Pokemon games released for the Game Boy Color you will probably enjoy the graphics in Pokemon Pinball as well. Gladly the Pokemon aren't copied straight from the roleplaying games but instead have been designed exclusively for Pokemon Pinball. For me that actually meant a lot and many of the familiar Pokemon looked even cuter than in Pokemon Gold and Silver, that were released only five months before Pokemon Pinball.
Sound 9 Many of the tracks in Pokemon Pinball are variations of the original soundtrack of Pokemon games. Variety is always a good thing within a franchise in my opinion and I bet no one would enjoy listening to the original Pokemon Anthem through their entire gaming experience. The downside of listening to 8-bit music for a long time is developing an awful headache but that aside the soundtrack is actually quite pleasant. During the many hours I've played Pokemon Pinball I've become especially fond of the music in the Blue stage.
Addictiveness 10 If you're gonna catch 'em all, you won't let go of this game! I've never been too interested in competing in scores but Pokemon Pinball has made me a high score addict. The number one score in the list of high scores is a point amount of 500,000,000 and I'm sorry to tell that I haven't reached anywhere near that score. My goal is to beat that score in the future but I'm confident to tell that it is going to take plenty ... Read the rest of this Review
