Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD

Stranger's Wrath HD
This game was originally released back in 2005 for the original Xbox. I discovered this game in a Game Informer Magazine next by Munch's Oddysee. I didn't like the idea of a new character. I was usually used to Abe instead. I bought the game for $14.99 on the PlayStation Network Store. This game exceeded my expectations. The original game was done by Oddworld Inhabitants. The HD remake was done by Just Add Water. Here is the review.

STORY: 10
On the western side of the planet of Oddworld, Grubbs are saddened by the lack of water drying up their land. They live in the Western side of the continent Mudos. Abe and the Mudokons live in the eastern side. The lack of water was caused by the growing population of Clakkerz (a chicken-type creature). Meanwhile, a bounty hunter by the name of Stranger, must catch bounty's in order to gain moolah (currency of Oddworld). He needs the money to "fix his little problem" Stranger must go to town after town to get as much money as he can.

GRAPHCS: 10
I did a little comparison to the original to the remastered version. The HD version looks a lot better. The theme of the game takes place in the old west-type times. It is mostly a desert in the game. There are some very nice scenery in the lands. The whole land is just perfectly made.

SOUND: 10
The music in the game takes a western genre approach. It is still some great music. The characters all have a Texas accent. Some of the characters swear a lot. The Clukkerz also talk funny. There are a lot of gunshots in the game.

DEPTH: 10
This is now a open world game. You now control stranger and travel to many town's catching bounty's. This game is also a First Person Shooter game. The weapon you get is a crossbow. There are 8 types of Ammo. Stunkz, Chippunks, Bolamites, Zappflies, Fuzzles, Thudslugs, Bombats, and Stingbees are your live ammo. You can upgrade them later in the game. There are three towns in the game. The names of them ar... Read the rest of this Review
Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee HD

Munch's Oddysee HD
I heard about this game back in 2005 in a Game informer Magazine. The pictures in the magazine made the game more interesting. This was released in 2001 in the Original XBox. Back in that time I wanted a PS2. But I missed some pretty amazing games on the XBox. I am so happy that a new game company, Just Add Water was able to release Oddworld Munch's Oddysee remastered in HD. Now it is time to review it. By the way, this was a cheap game on the PlayStation Network Store. It was only $9.99

STORY: 10 [POSSIBLE SPOILERS]
Munch is a gabbit in distress. He has been looking for his a long lost family and friends. One day while whistling (gabbit's call) to find other gabbit's, He heard a whistle back. Much then goes to the surface where he is caught by a trap by the Vykkers. Meanwhile, the All Mighty Raisin tells Abe that he needs to find Munch in order to save his Mudokon Brothers. Much wakes up feeling dizzy to find out that two Vykker interns have brought Him to Vykker's Labs, where two Vykker scientists Humphrey and Irwin place a Sonar on Munch's head. The sonar will capture critters (mostly Fuzzles) who have been caught by a trap. Munch finds a group of fuzzles next to him. The Fuzzles say they want to be free. Munch must save the fuzzles and escape Vykker's labs.

Since I own the HD version, i cant really tell the diffrence between the original version. But I can say that Oddworld Inhabitants wanted to try to make a 3 demenional game this time. The characters in the game looked good in the xbox version, now they look better. I can't really tell level's diffrence to the xbox version. I did notice some texture enchancements in some levels. There is a lot of very nice scenery in all of the levels i like how moving clouds move to the sunlight to make shades. JAW did a really good job remastering it.

Sound: 9
The soundtrack of this game is amazing. The music is ambient mixed with techno. there are a lot of sound effects in ... Read the rest of this Review
Oddworld: Abe\'s Exoddus

Abe's Exoddus
I never knew that there was a sequel to the original oddworld game. I happened to discover this back around 2009 while looking at the PlayStation Network store games. I bought the game and enjoyed it. The game is just like Abe's Oddysee But even better.
Here is the review.

STORY: 10 [MAY HAVE SPOILERS]
Abe has just returned from saving 99 Mudokons from Rupture Farms. Now there is a bigger problem. A new type of production factory has opened up at the sight of Necrum, home of the graves of Passed on Mudokons. SoulStorm Brewery is home of the upcoming tasty brew. Mullock, and his helpful Glukkons, which are founders of Rupture Farms and SoulStorm Brewery, have found more Mudokon slaves to dig up the bones of the dead for the ingredient for their brew. Abe is then visited by the 3 ghostly Mudokon weirdos to tell him about the trouble happening. Now he must find more slaves and stop the production of brew from Soulstorm to end the digging of the dead's leavings.

DEPTH: 10
The original release of this game came with two discs. That means the game is bigger and better than ever! Since Abe is now a more experienced Mudokon, he is able to posses other types of enemies. If you posses a Scrab or Paramite, you can tell others to follow you or attack each other. If you are a possesed Glukkon, you can command Sligs to help you or shoot someone. In the original game you can only make 1 Mudokon follow you. In this one, you can make multiple Mudokons follow you. You can also slap other mudokons to make them angry. They can slap you back The quicksave feature of this game is very useful. It allows you to go back to a part where you died. Brew Dispersers and trap souls gives you powerups from invisibility to exploding farts.

GRAPHICS: 10
Like I said, the game almost the same as the original one. The levels has much more scenery to it. Necrum is beautifully made. That is my favorite level. Each level have like a different atmposhpere to them.... Read the rest of this Review
Oddworld: Abe\'s Oddysee

Abe's Oddysee
The Oddworld games are one of my favorite game franchise next to conker. I have happened to own this game maybe around the early 2000's (maybe 2001) . This is an example of a game that gives me the perfect nostalgic feeling. I want to try to review every oddworld game that has been made. Lets get on to the review!

STORY: 10  [NOTE: MAY HAVE SPOILERS]
The story is about this guy named Abe, who is a Mudokon. He has been a slave for Rupture Farms for some time now. Him and his buddies have been chopping up meat of Meeches (which are extinct), Scrabs, and paramites for tasty products. One night, Abe was mopping up the floors when he discovers a new product about to be made called "New 'n' Tasty" soon to hit the shelves. He then realises that the new kind of meat was him and his Mudokon friends. Now he must go deep into Rupture Farms and save them and escape.

SOUND: 10
The game has a tons of sound effects and awesome music.  The music is like jungle ambient mixed with techno. The sound effects have a bunch of explosions, roars and screeching of the Paramites and Scrabs, squeaky talking of Abe and Mudokons, and even the footsteps of Abe are nice.

DEPTH: 10
This game has a whole lot of cool things. The game is supposed to be like a puzzle game. You can talk to other Mudokons. You can tell the Mudokons to follow you. The sayings are on a display menu called Gamespeak. You can chant to posses other enemies. You can throw bombs at the enemies. There are also a lot of tricky and clever secrets in parts of the levels.

ADDICTIVENESS: 10
I could play this game any day! There is really nothing to say about this. It is that fun.

DIFFICULTY: 8
Okay, this game can get really frustrating But that frustration is all worth it. The enemies of this game are Sligs (which are guards of Rupture Farms) That can be seen on any level, Paramites, Scrabs, Slogs (which are dog-like creatures) and Fleeches (which are leeches... Super Pinball - Behind the Mask

Super Pinball: Behind the Mask
This is a very obscure game for SNES. It's yet another game I happened to own while growing up. This is also one of the overlooked games on the SNES game library. I actually have a lot to say about this one. If you are looking for a strange and weird looking game, Super Pinball: Behind the Mask is one of them.

STORY: 5
Pinball machines and games don't  really have a story. The ones you probaly see are based off of popular TV shows, movies, and video games. It's mostly score the most points before you loose your 3 balls. This particular pinball game just so happens to have a story. The 3 tables on the game are all supposed to be part of it. The story is about you are on a conquest to become a pinball wizard. In order to become the pinball wizard, you must escape the 3 forbidden doors that are guarded by the Jolly Joker (Table 1), Blackbeard and Ironmen (table 2) and the Pinball Wizard himself (Table 3). You must defeat them in order to complete your conquest (Reach the required score).

DIFFICULTY: 2
I like how this has an almost perfect ball simulation to this game. This game is pretty easy. The controls on this game are quick and easy to learn. I don't have much to say on this one.

GRAPHICS: 9
this game has some really impressive graphics. I know that it is just a bunch of pictures on the tables and game menu screen. The atmosphere of this game has a quite creepy feel to it. It seems to me that a lot of people who played this game happened to be disturbed by this. I can see the reason why. When I played this at a young age, I never got creeped out. I thought it was cool. The Theme of the tables are a jester theme, a pirate theme, and of course a wizard theme. I Love the artwork on the characters and tables. The characters are really realistic.

SOUND: 10
the sound of this game are phenomenal. There are tons of sound effects on the game. They are the same sound effects on each table. The music on this is incredi... Read the rest of this Review
