Fire Emblem - Decay of the Fangs

Black Fang's new look

? ?Fire Emblem Blazing Sword's Black Fang has their own story and adventure. Take the side of the Black Fang's assassins and get some perspective.

? ?The game starts as the story of Blazing Sword ends, with the Black Fang's new leader, Chadwick. Chadwick is trying to restore former glory to the Black Fang's charred name. He finds himself at the mercy of the law officials as well as the armies of Elibe and desperately tries to get by and survive with his fellow assassins and family.

? ?This game has the average Fire Emblem style of play, but has innovation through its story. It's story is very different than that of the FE series, as it shows the perspective of the "Evil" side of the story at the mercy of the "Good." Many chapters involve surviving a turn limit, or escaping. The characters and people you recruit range from mentally disturbed children to exiled priests. While the characters are strange, they have a very attractive personality and many are very comedic. When you play as the assassins, you cannot help but feel compassion for their cause. The story does a very good job at making the player get attached to his soldiers and somewhat despise the "Good" as they hunt you down.

? ?The only major flaw in the hack itself is the character sprites. Many character sprites are seemingly pieced together from past FE games, while some are very well done. Map structure in some chapters need improvement, while some are excellent in forcing the player to escape the level quickly or recruit some characters quickly.

? ?While the game has a few noticeable flaws, this game is a must for players who enjoyed Blazing Sword. The perspective of the assassins creates an atmosphere and attractiveness for anyone to be hooked. It is very easy for the player to grow fond of their soldiers and Chadwick. Unfortunately the game is not finished and was a huge letdown for myself. When I hear that this game is extended or finished, I will happily pla... Read the rest of this Review
Pokemon Pikachu Edition (crystal hack)

The new Johto journey, with Pikachu.
Enjoy the Johto and Kanto region's new look with Pokemon's most iconic figure, pikachu.

The most apparent difference between this game and the original Crystal game is the map structure. The regions have a very new and fresh look but have a very difficult and confusing traversing path. You will also start the game by choosing pikachu as your starter pokemon, as does your rival, almost giving more of a competitive vibe. With the change in maps, the routes and caves have a new variety of pokemon to catch and use along your journey.

The level curve has also been significantly been increased than that of the original Crystal, especially in Kanto, adding difficulty to the journey and giving more of a challenge to dedicated players. Even some typing of the pokemon have been changed, such as Charizard and Gyarados. Pikachu can even use Surf! Some pokemon have different evolution requirements too, including pikachu.

This game can be very enjoyable for fans who have delved into the Johto journey previously, but the most glaring flaw of the game is the map structure and layout. The region is very difficult, confusing, and almost impossible to remember. I rarely knew where to go and how to get there and sometimes was stuck. The idea of using a pikachu can be fun, but with poor level layout, it is not the best trade to be had.

I recommend this game to those who are seeking a challenge and also have a love for pikachu. However, if you are someone who greatly enjoys the Johto and Kanto region for what they were and do not wish to train very tediously, you should not play this.
