Pokemon Cloud White

Pokemon Cloud White Review
What is up Vizzed? It's your boy, Joey W here for another review. Today I am reviewing Pokemon Cloud White. Before I start, I wanted to say that I have not beaten this game yet, and I will touch on why I am reviewing it now, later in the review.

Graphics: This game was a hack of Pokemon Fire Red but with better graphics. It included more pokemon outside of generation 3. THe overworld sprites were fantastic. It was a pretty game.

Sound: Probably the greatest flaw in this game is the sound. There is a major glitch that the sound would randomly at times just makes the same noise over and over. It was maddening. I played this game on mute quite often because the sound would honestly make this game near unplayable. It was probably the worst sound coming from any Pokemon game that I have ever heard.

Addictiveness: I think the abrupt review speaks for itself. I ended this game because I was honestly bored out of my mind. This game starts out almost exactly like FireRed. The only differences are that legendary pokemon are hidden around the region, Route 1 contains tons of rare pokemon (Most starters and Gibble and Riolu), and half of the gym leaders and elite four had an irritating name change. The creator should have just left them the same. However, once beating the game, one had to figure out where to go next. There were no clues, or one very subtle one that could be easily missed and most people probably do. After arriving in this new region, the layout was terribly poor. Like random buildings and a town that looks like post-eruption Cinnabar Town. At that point, I lost all interest in the game. I know I'm missing out, and if you're reading this and say "wait, the new region is amazing," let me know. I may come back to this game, but the hack looked to have been rushed or poorly made.

Story: Well, this may be a little unfair, since I haven't beaten the main part of Cloud White, but the story was bland. You must beat Kanto, and after... Read the rest of this Review

Pokemon Snakewood Review
What is up Vizzed? It's Joey W back at it again with another Pokemon review! Today I will be reviewing Pokemon Snakewood, a post apocolyptyc game taking place in Hoenn. Before I get started I want to apologize if this review is not up to par. I typed out an elaborate review and for some reason, it didn't post and I lost it all. So I'm a little distracted! But nonetheless, I hope you still enjoy this review!

So let's start with the graphics. The developers of this game created new Pokemon and developed original sprites for the pokemon. They also created new sprites for just about every major character and zombie including overworld sprites. While there were some glitches, the graphics were pretty cool. So, the game earned a 9.

Sound: There weren't any noticeable changes to the sound. This game received a 7 just because Hoenn has such a wonderful soundtrack.

Addictiveness: I'm not going to lie. This game was challenging. There were many, many parts of this game where I had no clue what was next. I had to look up guides on the interweb just to find out what to do. Besides that, this game was very addictive. There would be times where I could not put the game down, even with all of the challenges. Because of the constant need to look up help, this received a 9.

***SPOILER ALERT***
Story: This section contains spoilers. Enter at your own risk!!!

So, last review, I basically wrote out the entire storyline. This time, I'm going to cut corners. So basically, you wake up from a building collapsing on you. No one is to be found. You find three pokeballs (to choose your starter). You then find the professor being attacked by a zombie. After saving him, he explains that a zombie apocalypse occurred and that your brother (the champion) and his girlfriend (May) disappeared. You set out to find them. On your journey, you save a dragon's daughter, defeat the four horsemen, and basically fight the government. Towards the end, you def... Read the rest of this Review

Pokemon Flora Sky Review
Hello Vizzed, and welcome to another Joey W review!

Today, I am reviewing Pokémon Flora Sky, an Emerald Hack

Graphics: The graphics were mostly improved, buildings, underwater. They were definitely better than Emerald, although there were a few sprite errors. So it was good, but not perfect. I feel and 8 is sufficient.

Sound: The hack did not change any sound. It was a classic, but not improved, so I gave it a 9.

Addictiveness: Here is where I found major problems. Firstly, this hack has so many errors, mostly the dialogue was poorly edited and there were a few glitches. Also, about 60% of the game time was spent looking up where to go next on the internet. The game was linear but there were so many prior steps to enter a new town, that this game was borderline unplayable.

Story: The story was somewhat of a mash between Emerald and somewhat of its own poorly unique story. The only difference was some made up gym leaders and Elite Four and Cynthia as the champion. The story was very poor.

Depth: There was a lot to do, however, most of it was boring. So I gave it a conflicting score of 6.

Difficulty: The best part of this game was the difficulty. To be honest, it was probably the most challenging Pokémon game I have ever played. I had to cheat a bit to beat the Elite Four as my best Pokémon was 6-10 levels lower than the Elite Four. I found the difficulty very enjoyable. The level progression was great.

Overall, this game receives a 6. I recommend every Pokémon game I have reviewed (Emerald, FireRed, Light Platinum, Shiny Gold) except this. The story was just too poor and the awful dialogue errors made this game terrible. I will more likely never play this game again. I do give it two positives, the sprites and buildings were improved, and the difficulty is on its own level. However, the errors, terrible storyline, and confusing array make this game borderline unplayable. I ... Read the rest of this Review

Pokemon Shiny Gold Review
What it be, what it do, back at it again with another Pokémon Review!

So, I made a long review about this game prior to this, and unfortunately, it didn't post. So, I have to restart.

Now that the tiny violin is playing, let's begin!

GRAPHICS: The graphics were the same as Pokémon Firered. I gave it an 8 just because it is a classic and because it had no improvements.

SOUND: I gave this a 2 only because the Victory Road soundtrack made my ears bleed, metaphorically of course. I hated it. It was the first time I can remember that I actually muted a Pokémon game. It was horrendous. I don't blame the creator, but I could not bear it. Also, there was another moment (Goldenrod I believe) where the music was poor also. It drove me crazy. It's probably just me though.

ADDICTIVENESS: This game is highly addictive. There were some parts where I was confused on what to do next, and that hurt the addictiveness just a tad, so that is why it received a 9.

STORY: This game had a wonderful story. Who doesn't love the amazing story of the Johto region, and the many rivals this game includes? The classic, defeat team rocket, collect badges, battle rivals, and make friends. However, this story is incomplete, so it received an 8.

DEPTH: This game went deep. There was so much to do including the side quests! I was quite disappointed when I realized this game is incomplete. That is why it received an 8.

DIFFICULTY: This game was too easy. I was knocking out fellow trainers in one shot, with an occasional two hit KO here and there. The only problem was running out of PP. The difficulty was probably the reason they made a harder edition to the game.Other than that, this game was fun!

Now, don't be alarmed with the score of 6.2. This game is better than a 6.2, however, it is incomplete. I give a completed and more challenging game an 8.2. I recommend this game to those who are on the fence.... Read the rest of this Review

Pokemon Light Platinum Review
CAUTION: CONTAINS SPOILERS. VIEW AT YOUR OWN RISK

Hello Vizzed, It's Joey W back at it with another review! This review, as the title suggests, is for Pokémon Light Platinum, which is one of the most famous Pokémon hacks out there. So without further adieu, let's begin!

Graphics: The graphics in this game were superb. It had generation 4 graphics in a generation 3 game. However, there was one major flaw in the graphics design. When imputing the sprites of certain generation 5 Pokémon, there was an error, which distorted or completely removed the sprite of some of the Pokémon. Other than that, you won't see better graphics for Pokémon here on Vizzed.

Sound: This game reused the sound for the Generation 3 Hoenn games, which were classic. As I love the Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald music, I gave it a 9 due to it just being copied.

Addictiveness: It was hard to put this game down, mainly because it is digital so I never picked it up! Joking aside, this game is really addictive. I am very willing to play this game in the future, so I had no choice but to give this a 10.

Story: This game had an excellent story. You start off meeting a league champion and the world champion, who happens to be none other than Ash Ketchum. As you defeat the criminal organization, Team Steam, and conquer the new region of Zhery, you are introduced to the neighboring region of Lauren, which you defeat as well. Upon spending hours of fun defeating two regions, you are finally invited to the World Championship, where you defeat Ash, becoming the World Champion.I don't even think the regular Pokémon games have this much action! So I give this a 10/10 for story.

Depth: Like you can infer from the "story" section, there is so much to do in this game. You will not ever get bored (unless you spend a lot of time acquiring hundreds of free masterballs). This game has hours of fun. However, I gave this game a 9 he... Read the rest of this Review
