Bomberman 64

Bomberman 64 - First 3-D Game in the Series
If you want to play a fun, calm game with a soothing soundtrack while blowing things up; then this is your game! Bomberman 64 is a first in the series because it's in 3-D. Not only that, it might be the first in the series that has a story to it! And what would a Bomberman game be without a multiplayer battle?

The story starts with a league of space pirates hovering over a world full of people and life. Suddenly, one of the pirates (Artemis) teleports down to the city with a hoard of their minion soldiers;who spread throughout the world. Above, the leader Altair uses a tool called the Omni Cube to drain the life from the world (Blue Harbor) and trap it in a type of vivarium. Afterwards he returns to the ship with his partners Orion, Regulus, and the leader Altair, and they move on to the next world, Planet Bomber. Bomberman sits on a cliff overlooking the city when he sees the fortress hover down to his planet with 4 world they conquered anchored below. Then, blinding lasers blast at a populated area. The people start to run to evade the lasers but some aren't so lucky. Bomberman sees this and is alarmed but is then surprised by a flying white and gold cloaked angel like figure (Sirius) that emerges in front of him. He tells Bomberman that he has a bone to pick with them and will help him along the way. He also says that Bomberman must destroy the 4 anchor and that will destroy a force-field that protects the main fortress. Then he flies away and Bomberman sets off to beat the enemies.

The four world the are anchored to the fortress are called "Green Gardens", "Blue Resort", "Red Mountain", and "White Ice". They all have four stages within, 2 in which are boss battles. The stages each have their own means of completion. After Bomberman beats the final boss for a world, the anchor breaks away and the vivarium disinteg... Read the rest of this Review
Wario Land 3

Wario Land 3 - Nontraditional and Awesome
This has to easily be one of the best games I've ever played on the Gameboy Color. In fact, I have no problem saying that this game is the best in the series and will remain so until they make a new Wario Land with the very same format. We got to see what Wario looked like in color for the first time in this game! And as always, they deliver with a humorous story line.

The game starts with Wario flying through the sky in his own sweet Cessna-style red airplane when all of the sudden the plane malfunctions and he plummets down to the forest below. He leaves the wreckage and continues on land when he discovers a cave. He enters the cave and inside he finds an odd musical box. Whether or not it was from greed or curiosity, Wario picks up the box and suddenly is sucked inside! It turns out there is an extensive world inside the box, and he lands in a cavern from within. Upon entering, a strange and distant voice tells Wario that he is stuck in this world but he can free Wario if Wario collects 5 music boxes that are scattered throughout the world. The voice says that he is imprisoned and the music boxes are the key to his freedom. As a bonus, he tells Wario that he can keep any treasure found along the way. Wario agrees and heads out on his bountiful adventure.

As we all know, the traditional Mario game has you moving forward from one world to the next, 1-1 to 1-2 to 1-3 then 2-1, etc. However, in this game each level has four different color keys and four treasure chests; grey, red, green, and blue. Each key goes with the matching color chest and opening a chest completes the level. The chest hold different treasures that open new levels and power-ups that help you progress through the game. But some chests are unreachable until you gain a certain power-up that would allow you to go deeper into the level to reach them. So in one level, you may immediately be able t... World of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse & Donald Duck

Trapped in a World of Illusion
World of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck is a fascinating game with an iconic Disney cast. The game starts with our heroes practicing for a magic act at a performance theater when Donald trips and discovers a magical box . Mickey suggests not using the box for the act due to a strange glow emitting from within but Donald eagerly jumps in and then... poof! Mickey goes in to inspect when the curtain flutters and Mickey vanishes as well. They hear a voice in the distance tell them that the must defeat him to get back to their world.

The graphics are pretty good with lush backgrounds. Enemies will fade out when attacked and turn into flowers and some smoothly disperse. On one specific level, lightning strikes brilliantly while rain pours down. Another spot in the game has the duo flying through fluffy clouds, in front and behind. Not to mention the wonderful color scheme that has bosses stand out and makes your magic spell shine.

If you play alone with either Mickey or Donald, you'll notice that each character will have they're own parts of levels. For instance, Mickey has a more extensive first level and Donald at one point is at a beach during the second level. But if given the chance, it's much better to play with a friend! The same goes for 2P mode when I say there is different spots to go; as a duo, you both navigate through a mining level with a two-bucket see-saw like mine cart. But no matter what mode or what player you choose, the game story is pretty well connected leading to the same final boss. After beating a level, there's a little cut-scene showing how Mickey and Donald learn a new magic spell that advances them to the next. The transition between levels are sometimes funny when notice; like after swimming in an endless ocean, it turns out you pop out of a fish bowl on to a tube of toothpaste and are in a house!
