Super Smash Bros.

Bam! Super Smash Bros. Review by GB (Over 3500 words!)
Is this game grand, or terrible?

That's my job to answer.

Super Smash Bros. The classic fighting Nintendo game that almost every gamer has played in their lives. Released in the April of 1999, this game took the world as a surprise. This was the first of its kind that Nintendo had released. A beat 'em up consisting of different Nintendo franchises had never been thought of ever before by anyone. Not very much companies had thought of a beat 'em up game like this. And that was a good thing. Just in the U.S., it sold 2.93 million copies. In Japan, it sold 1.97 million copies. That, plus other countries, makes it 5 million copies sold world wide.

As you can see, this game was obviously a great success for Nintendo and its business partners. They made more after this classic game. As a review author, it's my job to show off whether or not this game is worth it. Now, I present you, my 3rd review. Specifically for the classic Super Smash Bros.

Graphics - 8
Yes. 8. These graphics, to say the least, are divine for when this game was developed. 1999. Many people think it was in the 2000s when this was released. It wasn't. And this 8 is what I think what the graphics are. I'll elaborate.

First off, to start this review off, are the characters. For 1999, the attempt at 3D characters were simply amazing. Sure, a few graphics weren't drawn to scale as others were, but look at it. Isn't it amazing how they made this? Each of the characters are made up nicely, from Luigi to Jigglypuff. Each individual curve and motion of the character is how it basically be if it were real life. The enemies that aren't characters are also made to perfection. Let's take Master Hand. He ACTUALLY looks like a hand. And a really good one, too. The color shows as if the character was real and wearing a glove. Or the polygon team. They were made to show the overall lines and corners of each character. And boy, did they do a job. Not only were the polygon ... Read the rest of this Review
Pokemon Fire Red

My opinion of Pokemon FireRed!
Pokémon FireRed. The remake to the classic Pokémon Red, which was the best selling RPG, according to the 2009 issue of the Guinness World Record Book. It is also the counterpart of Pokémon LeafGreen, which was based off of the classic Pokémon Green, which I believe was only released in Japan. Regardless, we got Pokémon Blue. LeafGreen is just basically what we would have gotten if Green was released in the U.S.. With this game offering new opportunities and old memories, this game is a perfect example of what Nintendo and Co. can do with old games. And, now, without further ado, please sit back, and enjoy my second review.

Graphics - 10
Yes, graphics is a perfect, solid, 10. Compared to Red, this is a huge bump up. Let me explain.
First, the character sprites. The main character sprites are just, awesome. If you could marry video game sprites, this would be my spouse. You can tell that the main character was meant to be Ash (or, well, Red) with the nice and clean hat and clothing, even in the overworld sprites. It's nice, clean, and colorful all around the overworld sprite. Red is easily distinguishable. His in-battle sprite is no trash bag, either. It's perfect. You can tell it was meant to be Ash (in video game form) with the nicely drawn hat and bag.  And, now, they have a new character option, which is a female! And, though I haven't played with it, I've seen videos which show how nice the overworld and in-battle sprites are. Very clean, and very well done.

The rival wasn't so bad, either. You could tell it was meant to be Gary from the anime, and it wasn't so bad, really. The overworld sprite for Gary was quite clean and easy to notice. There's not much to say about it. It was shown nicely and cleanly. However, the main thing about Gary I want to say is the in-battle sprite. It's not bad, but it isn't perfect. They could have added a little more to him, but, really, it doesn't matter. All it is is yo... Read the rest of this Review
Pokemon Emerald

My opinion on this classic...
Graphics - 10

Much better and cleaner than the last generation. Though, that's to be expected. No one would leave something unclean. Anyways, this is a perfect ten. They're clean, pretty, and even their moves have nice graphics when they use them. Very nice. Although, it would be cool if Pokémon reacted to hits or moves they used, but that's just me. Like, if Psychic type uses something, they put their fingers on their head and concentrate or something. But, again, this is gen 3. No big deal.

Sound - 9

Many pieces of music in this game are memorable. The Pokémon sounds are nice. T'would be cool if Pokémon said their actual names, though. (Ma-nec-triccccc!) The sounds are good, though. They aren't bad at all. The sounds for the moves are amazing. Spark, for example. It actually sounds like an electric shock ("Bzt... bzzt... bzzzt...!) Memorable, good sounds, it deserves a 9.

Addictiveness - 7

I'll be honest with you, it gets irritating if you mess up or don't do what you intended to do. Otherwise, this game is just amazing. You just want to play around, fight almost everyone. Again, it's not fun if someone messes you up. (MAY. NEVER STOP ME FROM GETTING DOUBLE KICK AGAIN.) You can fix it, but there are a lot of cases in which, if you're dedicated, you have to reset your game. (aka. Me.)

Story - 7

Standard Pokémon game: 10 year old with only a Mom goes around, beating people about twice his age and destroying a gang along the way. Except, this time, it's a bit different. Not only does he have Mommy's support, he's got Daddy! And, guess what, he gets to beat 2 gangs! Since it's not really an original set-up, I kind of reduced the score, but due to the added features AND the fact that I'm a sucker for Pokémon games, I gave this a straight-up 7.

Depth - 6

A six. Honestly, after you beat the main game and the Elite Four, the only things left to do is to ca... Read the rest of this Review
