Pokemon Sun Review
Overview:
Pokémon, has, and always be the one series I will personally love and adore, even now that adulthood has approached me, and I will say, that Pokémon Sun and Moon were likely some of the most unique Pokémon Games to date, with the wonderful games that were Pokémon Colosseum and XD: Gale of Darkness. The fact that games present new and unique ways to play a well beloved title, as Pokémon is, allowed Sun and Moon, in my eyes, to become a staple game in Nintendo's 20th Anniversary for the franchise.
With this being said however, Pokémon Sun and Moon did have it's fair share of disadvantages and hard-goings making it a somewhat step back for GameFreak in certain aspects. Now, we can move onto the actual review, in which all these topics will be discussed thoroughly.

Graphics:
Beginning with the graphics of this game, I will have to say, I am quite impressed, for the most part. The scenery is very lovely, as would be expected from a region based off of the gorgeous state of Hawaii, and in addition, Nintendo did something that had never been done in a Pokémon game before: they connected each area to each other. For those of you who do not know, a feature was added onto the game known as the Rotom Pokedex, a handy guide that not only tells you about what each Pokémon is, and does, but also provides a Town Map, with markers. As each area is entered or exited, the map just continues with where it left off at each region of the region, allowing for more connectivity. The Rotom Pokedex map also does one more thing however, in the fact that it shows you the land features that are within the region, allowing the player to truly get a picture of the island that he/she may currently be on.
In addition to the Rotom Pokedex, GameFreak also implemented another new 'feature' being that the player can see other portions of the region from other areas. For ... Read the rest of this Review

Pokemon Emerald Review
For reference before one were to read this review: I will be comparing this not only to preceding and proceeding games, and explaining in depth why my scores the way they are. So, if you do not want spoilers, please do not read ahead. Furthermore, this was one of my first Pokémon games, so this review may be biased. You have been warned.

Graphics:
Let us start with this little detail. Emerald is basically the 'sequel' to Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire versions, and having come out right after the first ever remakes (being Fire Red and Leaf Green versions), Pokémon Emerald did have a lot to look up to. However, as this was the third game in the Hoenn series, the graphics were similar, if not the exact same, of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, which in this case, is not bad. At the point of graphical development we were at during the time of Emerald's release, the graphics were quite good, especially the sprites in battle. The colors were vibrant in this game, and the different environments offered have given Graphics the rating of an eight.

Sound:
I could go on for days about the sounds within Pokémon Emerald. Even compared to the succeeding games such as Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, Pokémon Emerald dominates them in this aspect. The songs were engaging, leaving the player something truly memorable to listen to while catching that legendary, or battling that gym leader. This does not mean that Emerald's sounds are without some mistakes. For instance, the rival theme in this region was more annoying than not, and the versus Frontier Brain music was less than desired. For these few mistakes I will be rating sound a nine.

Addictiveness:
Similarly to Sound, I could go on and on about the engagement of this game. Emerald has so much to offer to the player, even in the after game, something that the newest region (Kalos) could not offer to those seeking a decent after game. Once the main game is finis... Read the rest of this Review
Super Mario Bros 3

Super Mario Bros. 3 Review
Let me start this review by saying this: This was my first ever Mario game, when I received this game along with the original Mario, and Pacman arcade with my first ever GBA. Less than a year after, this game was stolen from me, and even today, I regret the decision of bringing it with me.

Graphics: Yes, I rated Graphics an 8. Hate it, like it, I don't care. Some people realize that back in the days, there were not the amazing technological devices we have today to enhance volume, and graphics of software, and games. Back in the olden days, video games were a miracle in itself, and this was one of the better designed games out there. Nintendo has been known for the look of their games, hence, for the little technology we had back to create such marvelous beauties that we have today, I rate Graphics an 8.

Sound: Going back to before, there was little technology back then to help improve the sound quality. For a game as 'old' as Mario, these Graphics were improved quite dramatically throughout the history of the series/franchise. Super Mario Bros. 3 is no exception. Some of the music we hear on this game is still used in some of the newer Mario games (take Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games for instance), and always brings a smile to an old gamer's face when hearing it. I rate Sound a 9.

Addictiveness: Man, going back and revisiting this game, I could hardly, if ever put it down. Super Mario Bros. 3 not only has the main story where you have to get the magical staffs back and rescue the princess who never seems to be out of trouble, but there is also a side mini game on the title screen for players to accumulate the highest score they can killing all sorts of enemies. So even after the main story has been completed, there is still a goal: achieve a higher score than last! I rate Addictiveness an 8

Story: I hate to say it, but, here's where the scores lower a bit. . . Everyone knows the classic Mario story: Princess gets... Read the rest of this Review
Pokemon Shiny Gold

Shiny Gold Review
Alright, before I jump into this review, let me start out by saying I am quite rusty, and that the scores I have given are not based off of bias, they are based off of what I truly believe they deserve. This is my sixth game review.

Graphics:
Alright, jumping right into this, the graphics are one of the better aspects of this game. The ones created show a lot of work put into them, and look quite good as well. Though this appears to be a hack of FireRed and LeafGreen, due to their being little to no color in the original gold/silver, so the work that had to go into this for the graphics is amazing. However, there are missing textures for the berries, and a few others scattered around here and there, so, graphics receives an eight from me.

Sound:
Sound is quite a rudimentary thing in the Pokémon games. From the music on the routes, to the sounds of the Pokémon, it doesn't get more basic than that. The sounds of the battles, Pokémon, etc. . . Are all basic FireRed/LeafGreen sprite and battle sounds, so for most Pokémon fans, these should be quite familiar. Sound is a 9.

Addictiveness:
This is a R.O.M hack remaking Pokémon Gold version, so you would expect there to be a lot more than usual. However, there isn't all that much. The original route Pokémon from Fire Red and Leaf Green on the first few routes appear giving the player a feeling of 'great . . . This again . . .', because lets all face it, nobody has time for level four pidgey, rattata, hoothoot, and other basic route Pokémon. As mentioned before, this game took a lot of work to create, and it is even mentioned several times before game play, that the game is in beta. As a game in beta, as well as taking the work put into it, addictiveness is a solid 8.

Story:
I'm going to start out by saying: yes, the story score is a bit low, but for good reason. The story is also quite basic in a Pokémon game: 1: G... Read the rest of this Review
Pokemon Crystal

Pokemon Crystal
Alright. After being away from writing reviews for some time, this is my comeback.

First of all, Pokémon Crystal was a very 'old' version of Pokémon. As it was one of the first ever Pokémon games, my scores are based off the time period and the systems then.

Lets start off with the Graphics. Though the graphics were one of the best with it's time it was not VERY high up. The Pokémon sprites were very well made (thank you Nintendo) as well as the sprites for trainers. Also, one may not realize that Crystal version was one of the first Pokémon games with color and by color I do not mean the little color they added for different cities in Yellow, Red and Blue (for some even Green). When I mention color, I mean full out Technicolor which was impressive considering the time. Overall, graphics is an 8.

Second, we have Sound. The sounds were well executed in this game as you could tell all the sounds from each other (except maybe similar cries like Rhyhorn and Charizard or Omanyte and Machop). Though they were not the actually sounds the Pokémon made, it never is with Pokémon games. Just because they were able to make such an improvement in the sound  quality in this game compared to Red and Blue, I rate sound for Crystal an 8.

Next, is Addictiveness. Like most or all Pokémon games, Crystal was very addictive. Since you are able to actually do more with this game.
When I beat this game, I always restart for the thrill of re-creating the theme of all the different Pokémon from Jhoto and Kanto. Addictiveness is a 9.

The story in this game is longer than most other Pokémon games (even modern ones). Nowadays in Pokémon, you never find that long of a story. For instance, in Pokémon Black or White 2, the story is: 1: Get your starter, 2: Get the badges, 3: Defeat Plasma, 4: Become Champion. Almost nothing comes after that. However, in Pok&#...
