Pokemon Blue

Good'ol pokemon blue
Pokemon  blue review. I haven't made a review in a while. I have been running out of games to make reviews of. If you have a game you want me to make a review of leave the title in a post. I decided to play the amazingly high reputation pokemon blue. I played this game and it instantly took me back to when i was in 5th grade 10 years old, playing pokemon yellow. This is a great game and im glad to finally make a review on it. Enjoy!
GRAPPHICS: 8/10

The graphics are alright. My first pokemon game was pokemon yellow so i can appreciate the gen. 1 graphics.

Kinda crapy compared to gen 3 and after, but still pretty good for gameboy. i didn't like some of the animations. Such as squirtle and charmander. I realize it was hard back then with the number of pixels they had to work with but i still think they look kinda deformed and awkward. As for the buildings the graphics were good. They weren't 3D but they really worked. Lets just say the buildings looked like buildings. The figures and characters were also very good. Nintendo really couldn't have done a better job making the figures with the number of pixels they used. When the people move they move their legs move so it doesn't look like they're just floating.

SOUND: 10/10

The sound was a huge success. Amazing, catchy little tunes are everywhere in this game. When you get in a wild battle there is a roar of music winding down to silence. (lol really hard to explain it so i hope i did alright). Nintendo was not held back by the tingy sound restriction. They created music to capture you in the game without fail. I really like the first town music. That tune can really get stuck in my mind. But it never gets old. I also like the music that happens whenever you run into your rival. It's very fitting music that lets you know he has a  his cocky attitude. The Pokecenter music is also a extremely catchy tune, along with the little sounds that ... Read the rest of this Review
Pokemon - Yet Another Fire Red Hack

Yet Another Fire Red Hack (ikr)
Yet Another Fire Red Hack. Great and true title of this hack. There are lots of fire red hacks but this one is one of the better ones. I first played this game because i heard there were a lot of really cool pokemon that aren't in most hacks. So here's my review.

GRAPHICS: 9

The graphics are all good. A couple small errors such as appearing to be walking on a roof. Those are all very common in hacks. There are no errors in color and shapes of pokemon. All buildings are figures are clear and identifiable. The makers did a great job taking a pokemon image from gen 4 and 5 and putting them in a gen 3 hack.

SOUND: 10

Nothing wrong here. The music is the regular old fire red music. The pokemon cries are all the same. No sound glitches are anything like that.

ADDICTIVENESS: 10

When i first played this game i was addicted immediately. The new pokemon i always wanted to use in battle that i never could in any other hack were all here. And all the pokemon that had to be traded to evolve, evolve at level 40. I used a Conkledurr, Darmanitan, Golurk, and Empoleon. I was unbeatable. It was so addicting to wield a powerful team like that, i just couldn't stop.

STORY: 7

The story is the same as the regular fire red story. Your a pokemon trainer that beats all 8 gyms and finally goes to defeat the world champion. All the while battling your rival, who is Professor Oaks grandsun, the whole way.

DEPTH: 6

My main issue with this game is the length. IT WAS SO FRICKEN SHORT. This might have also been a combination of me beating pokemon light platinum over and over, and me using the fast forward button the whole way. But this hack is actually shorter then the regular game. The special islands one, two, and three along with the others are not in this game at all.

DIFFICULTY: 6

This is a fairly easy game. Just like all other pokemon games as ... Read the rest of this Review
Star Wars Episode I - Racer

Great RACING GAME!!
I own this game on my Nintendo 64 at home so that's how i know about this game. It seems not many people know this game is here. Part of the purpose of the review is to encourage people to play this awesome game. So here it goes...

GRAPHICS: 9/10

I have experienced no glitches in this game. The graphics are really good for Nintendo 64. The graphics work well with the intense speed of the game. All the animations are clear and writing is legible. Good Graphics.

SOUND: 10/10

While intense racing it's really nice to here the sounds of your pod racer. When you bump the sides there is a crashing noise and your character riding the pod racer yells. You can taunt the other racer by double tapping the R button. That is cool because the language depends on what character you have, it's different for each. The sounds of the engine running revving is very captivating. The sounds really help make the experience better.

ADDICTIVENESS: 10/10

I really enjoyed playing this game as a young kid. It was my favorite game along with zelda ocarina of time. I was truly addicted. Whats more addicting then racing at 500-700 mph around corners with other racers? When you beat a map you get a new character to race with. Each character's pod racer has different stats with their speed, acceleration and such. You can buy parts from the shop which is surprisingly very addictive.

STORY: 1/10

Unfortunately, i had to rate the story a zero. There really isn't any story. But that can't take away from the overall rating because a racing game really doesn't need a story. Different maps and planets to beat is enough for me.

DEPTH: 4

I really wish there were more maps. There is a lot of maps but even after beating all of them i wanted more. There is a lot of play time involved. I'd say about 7 hours if you are a skilled racer. Not that that's a lot compared to games like zelda.

Pokemon Sapphire

an okay pokemon game
So I know a lot of people are gonna hate me for my opinion of this game. Personally I don't like emerald or sapphire or ruby. They are all just weird to me. I don't get the same vibe while playing these like I get in other pokemon games. Something about this game doesn't get me in the pokemon mood. So here's the review, sorry if my opinion is stupid to you.

GRAPHICS: 10/10

There is no problem here. The graphics are good and clear. The buildings are much better and easier to see then in the previous generations. The animations for the pokemon are also a huge improvement. I was able to clearly make out what all of them were supposed to look like. I had some problems with seeing pokemon animations wrong in the previous generations.

SOUND: 8/10

This might just be me but i personally didn't like the music as much as in the other games. Once again the music failed to capture me and make me want to play more. Otherwise the sounds are all good.

ADDICTIVENESS: 8/10

I know a lot of people absolutely love this game so i can't be sure about my opinion of this. I wasn't very addicted. Nothing really captured me and kept me wanting more. I did like however the pokemon in this game. One of the only reasons I played on was because i knew bagon was somewhere in the game. One of my favorite pokemon that I'm always exited to get is makuhita. It's a fighting type and is always good to have on your team.

STORY: 9/10

The story is average. Pretty simple but so are all the other stories in all the other pokemon games. Your a kid who moves to a new town and saves the professor. In return the professor gives you a choice between three good pokemon. Once you have your pokemon you start your adventure. Run into team aqua and magma stop team aqua from completing their evil plan. then you beat the elite 4 and defeat the champion. The end.

DEPTH: 8/10

This game doesn't really h... Read the rest of this Review
Pokemon Yellow

The old classic
This is was my first pokemon game ever. It was also my first handheld game ever. I bought a gameboy color from a friend and he threw the game in for free. I played this game for hours on end. Stayed up much later then i should of but it was all worth it. Sadly my sister deleted my game and i was so crushed i never played it for a long time. Eventually the addiction for this game wore off so i sold the gameboy to my sister who broke it after a while. So heres my review of the game. Enjoy!

GRAPHICS: 8/10

The graphics are pretty good in this game when it comes to the buildings and terrain. Everything is identifiable and easy to make out what they are. When battling the graphics are a bit different. Some of the pokemon are a little bit hard to make out what they are. For example, when i first saw Tauros i thought he had a head both in the front of his body and in the back. Later when i got to play 3rd gen games i realized he had three tails and not another head.

SOUND: 10/10

The music in this game is really catchy. I will NEVER forget the first town music. The little tingy music was is addictive. I really enjoyed the music when you ride your bike. The sound overall is just really good and catchy.

ADDICTIVENESS: 9/10

The only reason why I give the addictiveness 9 out of 10 is that near the 6th gym you start to lose your enthusiasm. When it gets less obvious where to go and what to do it starts getting less fun. That happened to me when i finished the poison gym and couldn't find surf.

STORY: 9/10

The story is simple short and sweet. You are a pokemon trainer on a mission to catch all the pokemon, beat all the gyms and pokemon the league champion. You don't really have to catch all the pokemon to win. You can just get cool items by doing that. You have a rival who you battle throughout the game and finally defeat at the league championships.
