Pokemon Mystery Dungeon - Red Rescue Team

A Review of Pokemon Mystery Dundeon: Red Rescue Team
Hello everyone, Ro.kerr here! Yes, my next review is on a Pokémon game (which was inevitable lol). Today, I'll be doing a review of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team, which is quite possibly the best Pokémon spin-off in my honest opinion. Let's not waste anymore time and jump right into this review, starting off with the sound.

-Graphics-
Whenever it comes to making video game graphics for handheld games, Nintendo always ensures that the graphics are, at minimum, excellent, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Red Rescue Team included. Everything ranging from the miniaturization of every move and the animation that goes with it to just simply walking around and observing the idle animations for each character is very detailed. If 2D sprites and "movement" (that's really the only way I can put it) don't bother you when playing in a "3D" over world, then you should be fine with the graphics. (Not that there's anything super complicated about it. Just try the game, you'll see what I mean).

-Sound-
I'll say this about the sound in this game: It does a little bit more than just serve its purpose. Sure, each of the main quest dungeons have one theme (some of which are recycled, but it's not necessarily bad or too repetitive), but there are some situations that the music fits the mood and the current situation much better than other soundtracks. There are even some soundtracks that are exclusive to certain dungeons or events that happen only once, but still make quite an impact when it comes to engrossing the player within the game. Specifically, I like the Magma Cavern Pit music (especially considering the situation for your first visit there, this music suits the environment almost too well) and Sky Tower (This dungeon was referred to as "... a world above ours..." . With that in mind, this soundtrack truly inspired a feeling of awe and wonder). I also forgot to mention that many bosses share the same boss music. Personally, I'm ok... Read the rest of this Review
Mega Man & Bass

A Review of Megaman and Bass
Hello everyone, Ro.kerr here. Today, I'll be reviewing one of my favorite titles for the GBA: Megaman and Bass (not to mention this will also be my first review, so hopefully it's not too painful for you). Without further adieu, let's get started!

-Graphics-
In short, the graphics for Megaman and Bass are superb. The game developers made sure to add details to the environment around the characters, the background, etc. The other thing I really like about the graphics is how well it fits this specific game: they're beautiful and detailed, yet not too much detail is put into the things that don't matter as much. Each of the characters animations are well done and sets each character apart from one another.

-Sound-
The sound for Megaman and Bass is good, but I wouldn't say it's the game's strongest point. If I could categorize the music, I would say that it's traditional to the Megaman Classic series (mainly because, and correct me if I'm wrong, it IS a part of the Megaman Classic series). Each specific area has it's own stage music that's unique enough to help you when you're blasting through hordes of robots. I am slightly disappointed that each of the bosses all share the same music, but it's part of what usually happens in a Megaman game. The one soundtrack that I couldn't get enough of was the battle music against (SPOILER...ish?) King's tank and King's war plane. It was absolute madness fighting these tough enemies with this soundtrack playing, and I LOVED IT.

-Addictiveness-
Megaman and Bass can be very addictive, depending on who is playing. Let me elaborate on this a bit. For some people, losing to the same boss over and over again can be irritating, yet they continue playing until those people defeat that specific boss and feel so much joy after it has been defeated. I would know that feeling since I played through this game about 4 times as Bass and once as Megaman, but I'll go in depth about that in the difficulty. For... Read the rest of this Review
