Ogre Battle 64 - Person of Lordly Caliber

Currently, only one emulator works for this title, and its menu and controls can not be altered. Also the graphics suck on this emulator, so if any others could be used, it would be better.

SMB2 Pokemon Hack
|
Feels like there was so much that could have been done more to this hack, and yet it didn't. Different songs/sounds. Better choices in pokemon. (Chansey doesn't fly, jiggly isn't a fast and strong little guy. Oddish doesn't flutter jump)

Anyone having trouble downloading the game recently?

Pokemon Dark Rising

Whoops, disregard last comment! It was meant for another game.

Pokemon Dark Rising

With some poking around, I realized this game is a hack of an already existing hack; Flora Sky. Not a direct copy, mind, just takes a lot of the original progression and map.

Pokemon Dark Rising

Ugh, a game that makes your character talk... Hate that. Ruins the immersion.

Sonic 1 Megamix (v3.0)
|
Options are right under the "Start Game" and "Continue" part of the menu. Just scroll down and you'll find them. However, I only see Sonic, Mighty, and Shadow as playable, not Knuckles or Tails.

Pokemon Rijon Adventures

Rather lost after beating the seventh gym.

Bucky O\'Hare (ver EAB)

Super Mario Bros 2 - Christmas Edition 01-02-13 06:09 PM

SMB2: Christmas Hack
Super Mario Brothers 2: Christmas Edition is a simple graphic remake of the original game. Keeping in mind that it is just a graphic remake, some scores will be based on the original game as their really is no difference in some categories.
Starting off with the graphics, I give it a 10! Every level is influenced with Christmas cheer, whether it's just some snow in the background or ice on a door, to the little Santa hats on shy guys. Even the whole cast has a Christmas costume on for the game; Mario in a Santa hat, Luigi in a elf costume, Princess in a snow gown, and Toad... I think he is supposed to be some sort of snowman, but I cannot be sure. Also, Birdo gets replaced with a Snowman that spits snowballs instead of eggs, and even when you get to Wart, the bubble-belching toad is also wearing a Santa hat! Perhaps a little more work could have been put into the other bosses-Mouser could have easily had a Santa hat, for instance-but I think there is more than enough work gone into the graphics, I could not penalize it for such small details.
Now the sound. If this were the original game, I would have given this a 7, but I feel that the people who remade this could have added in some Christmas tunes into the game, thus I penalized it and lowered it to a 6. The original tunes are pretty awesome being so catchy, but they also get monotonous enough that you wish something new might pop in. Only dramatic change in music comes when you face off with Wart, which is at the end of the game (the same as it is in the original game).
As for addictiveness, I give the game a 7. With four different characters to choose from, you could find different combinations with them and different levels to play again. Maybe even do a challenge run of only one certain character, or perhaps ban using the Princess to make the game harder. Only reason I do not rate it any higher is because I do not think I would want to play the exact same game again right away. May... Read the rest of this Review

Super Mario Bros 2 - 2nd Run 01-01-13 11:53 PM

SMB2: Second Run - Quite fun!
A very solid remake of Super Mario Brothers 2! If you are a huge fan of the original, but wish there was more to it, this is the game for you!
All the mechanics, characters, and music is the same as the original, just the levels have been altered, rearranged, and messed around with to give you a new experience on an old game. Therefore, a lot of my ratings are the same on how I would rate the original.
Starting with the graphics, I gave it a 9 because all animations, characters, and scenery fits very well together. When I first played the original game, I found all the vibrant colors, different scenery levels, and the characters/enemies to be rather amazing for the Nintendo Entertainment System, so this was no exception when playing this remake. However, it is not exactly PERFECT, as I have seen better graphics on Nintendo, but it is suitable enough for playing on.
The sound I gave an 8 because of how catchy and fun it is! The first level music can get in your head all day if you are not too careful, and the boss music stays dramatic but not too flashy. And when you face Wart, the music is just a perfect amount of excitement and drama. The only problem I have with the sound is that there is not a very large amount of songs in the game, and it can get a bit monotonous. Even if the music was the best thing ever, hearing the same songs over and over can give you a headache. I know that Nintendo games can hold more songs than what was on here, so that deserved a knock or two down from its score.
As for the game's addictiveness, I gave it a 7. The game COULD be played again if you wanted to try a different combination of characters, or perhaps a challenge run, not letting yourself use Princess Peach to make it harder or something... but I do not think it is a game I would replay right away. Personally, I would need some time to pass before I would play it again. Even though it is a fun, new twist on an old game that is quite enjoyable,... Read the rest of this Review
