Disney\'s Tarzan

Adventure in the jungle
Disney’s Tarzan is exactly what I was expecting of this game. There are a couple of stages and all of them based on the movie: nothing new, nothing really different. A bit disappointing on that point? Yes, but the experience is still satisfying and I’m gonna tell you why.

Graphics - 8.0: The graphics are good. A lot of the Nintendo 64 platform has been successfully explored, like the cameras adjustment to different areas whenever you leave your main 2D track. It’s not stunning but it’s pretty enjoyable. I also didn't come along weird bugs like going through the trees by mistake.

Sound - 9.0: Every stage has a different song of the movie, and I’m a big fan of the songs so I obviously enjoyed the soundtrack of the game. There are a few different songs that were arranged specially for some stages, like the boat one, where no specific sound is played on the movie. All of them have the same jungle and dancing vibe which I like a lot.

Addictiveness - 6.0: I wouldn't’t call this game addictive, since there’s nothing very exciting about it. Unless you’re a huge fan of the movie, you’re gonna get through the stages without caring too much about the plot. You’re probably gonna be focused on getting all the items so your score will be 100% in the end, that’s all the excitement you’re gonna have here.

Story - 6.0: Basically the same of the movie, so gets a low score. Also, it doesn’t explain the story to you. The game assumes you know what happens on the movie, that’s why you bought the game in the first place, right? Well, not necessarily… Anyway, you can count on a poor gallery to tell you a bit about some characters and that’s pretty much it. You unlock some lines and a picture about each stage after you collect all items on them too. You can see those in the options on the main screen so they're basically trying to tell you to watch the movie i... Read the rest of this Review
Lagoon

Nasir's quest
Lagoon is one of my favorite old school games. It's simple, but really intense. Don't judge its poor graphics, because pretty much everything else makes up for it in the game. I'm gonna tell you why.

Graphics - 7.0: The graphics are not so good as you can see. But you have to keep in mind the first lagoon game was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System console, the NES, This is only a Super Nintendo adaptation to that game. And I'm very thankful to that! Even with the poor graphics the game is very lively and the bosses are pretty well designed.

Sound - 10: Lagoon has one of the most amazing soundtracks I've ever listened to. Atland's theme (the first city's) is awesome and I fell in love with it immediately. As I continued playing, more and more catchy songs arrived. I like almost them all! The little sounds effects can be kinda annoying but you won't pay much attention to them as you play.

Addictiveness - 8.0: I found the game pretty addicting as I played. The graphics are not so motivating but the story is reaeelly good. It has this tense atmosphere that keeps you curious. People disappearing and dying because of monsters in the middle earth? That's totally my type of game!

Story - 10.0: The story... Is awesome. You're a wizard's apprentice named Nasir and is sent by your master on a mission to investigate evil throughout the world of Lakeland. As you come across mysteries surrounding the villages' water that suddenly turned out muddy and caused monsters to appear, you start a quest to eliminate the sources of chaos and save the villagers from their terrible fate. During your journey you come across a lot of people that help you and tell you stories of the legend of the Champion of Light, the hero that will save the land (who could it be?). You also meet the princess that was kidnapped and has an important part in the villain's plans (very cliché, but still...). I'm not telling any spoilers but I really enjoy... Pocahontas

Harmony between men and nature
If you play Pocahontas expecting to have a loyal copy of the movie, this game will be a real surprise. As expected from a Disney game, Pocahontas offers more than just a classic game with classic music. You get to know how the female protagonist's life would be at more detail. Without further ado, let's get started with this review!

Graphics - 10.0: I had nothing to complain about the graphics. They're very simple but beautiful and matched the game's reality perfectly. Each stage is unique and colorful. You get to understand everything that's going on around you and enjoy the forest's calm sensation. There are quite a few pieces of graphic that really surprised me in beauty. This game has a nice graphic.

Sound - 10.0: You expect to listen to the songs of the movie when you play the game, right? That's exactly what happens on this one. Almost all songs in the movie are in the game, with a perfect adaptation to the games world. If you don't like the songs in the movie, you'd probably want different songs playing but the music is really beautiful so I enjoyed it quite a bit!

Addictiveness - 8.0: This is a fun game. There are a few puzzles for you to solve in order to proceed in the stages, all of them surrounding the animals you'll find in the forest on your way. They're not that hard but it's kinda fun to do them. I'd play it again for the graphics and the music, since the story is pretty short and you'll memorize it quickly. I had to play it two times because the screen shots I took in the first time I played weren't saved correctly so I had to take them all over again. But I didn't bother, and thus I believe this game can be played lots of times without getting exhaustive and boring.

Story - 8.0: I gave a higher note for this because it's not just the story you see in the movie. There are a couple of extras in the stages that makes it more enjoyable than the plain movie story line. Helping the animals in the forest really makes so... Read the rest of this Review
Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon S - Kurukkurin

Get the talismans!
Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon S Kurukkurin is a puzzle game. A pretty simple one but still addicting as most puzzle games are. Even though it's a Japanese game, you know need to know the language at all to know what's going on - which is really good.

Graphics - 6.0: The graphics are pretty good, although really plain. There's no differences between the stages at all, no matter who you're up against. It's just the necessary for you to look and don't want to close right away. The special attacks are pretty nice but also not very elaborated.

Sound - 5.0: The music is boring. There's just two songs, one for the stage and one for when one of the characters is almost winning. The sound effects are alright, but some of them really annoy me, like when you accidentally make a wrong move. I like when the characters say they attacks' names but that's pretty much it that amuses me.

Addictiveness - 8.0: As a puzzle game, this one is addicting. Specially if you get fired up when you lose. Because, trust me, you will lose. I'll explain why later, in difficulty. But it's a pretty nice game once you understand how to play it.

Story - none?: There's not exactly a history behind this. As in the anime, the Sailor Moon S season shows the sailors having to collect some "talismans". These are what you must collect to win a round in the game. Uranus' sword, Neptune's mirror and Pluto's brooch. They don't really have a sequence to appear, though. After you select your character and the pc select theirs (in story mode), your sailor will say something like "I'll punish you in the name of /planet/!" and the game is on.

Depth - 5.0: The game is not too big and doesn't offer nothing new. You just have to defeat all the sailors and Tuxedo Kamen (Tuxedo Mask) in the same game in order to beat it. If you don't like the game, you probably won't even think of playing much because nothing new and exciting will come up. Not even an amazing scene. Just the game... Read the rest of this Review
Donald Duck Mahou no Boushi

Donald and the magic hat
What do you expect from a Disney Japanese game? Not much, right? But Donald - Mahou no Boushi or Donald and the Magical Hat is a really surprising game. At first, you're caught in the silliest game ever. The story is about Donald and Daisy, whose birthday is approaching. When the two of them are walking in the street, she suddenly falls in love for a really charming pink hat. Daisy looks at the price but thinks it's too expensive and decides not to buy it. Donald, on the other hand, pays close attention to the price and thinks about getting it for his girlfriend as a birthday present. That's when the game really starts. Donald is given a job list and each job gives you a small amount of money. You're hired to deliver newspapers (some of them in the air and all of this must be done by running from the angry dog), appear in crazy television programs (when I say crazy I mean it! You must jump in a pool with sharks, walk through tightropes and more crazy stuff) , clean windows (while avoiding getting hit by vases and kids playing baseball in the windows of the 7th floor...) and retrieve stolen birds (without waking up the house's dog. This must be done very slowly). The mini games are pretty amusing although you're gonna take some time to figure out what you're supposed to do - since it's in Japanese.
After you've got enough money to buy Daisy's present, Donald goes to buy it but it's surprised by a weird talking hat in his way. The hat says it needs Donald's help and you're then set in a quest to help him. That's when things gets interesting since the game changes from simple mini games to an amazing adventure game, as expected from a Disney game from this time.
The hat tells you locations of the bosses you need to fight in order to enter Pete's castle and break the hat's curse. As you go through the beautiful stages, some of them has special features. Some of them are in the common platform format, some of them are races, some of them turn, twist and break! Th... Read the rest of this Review
