Final Fantasy III (english translation)
10-26-13 12:06 AM
Great for it's time
Final Fantasy 3 for the NES was released in japan only in 1990 and  North America did not get a release until 2006. This game is translated into English for those who cannot read Japanese. Although the gameplay is outdated it was a very good game for 1990.

Let's start  with the graphics, which will get a score of 8 out of 10. This is an NES game, so do not expect clean 3d graphics, otherwise you will be disappointed, but for 1990, this was amazing.

Sound will also get a score of 8 out of 10. The music may not sound good now, but there is some catchy music, which will make you hum while it's playing.

Addictiveness gets a 5 out of 10. I was off and on while playing this game. This is because there is a ton of grinding between bosses, and leveling up is really slow, and you will have to level up more when you play the final dungeon.

Story gets an 8 out of 10, because while the story is weak now, Final Fantasy was still new at that time, so the newer story ideas were unheard of.

Depth gets a 7 out of 10, because this is the first Final Fantasy with optional side quests, despite that there is still not much to do.

Difficulty gets a 6 out of 10.The battle system is improved from the first 2 games, allowing auto targeting and multi targeting spells, also the ability to switch jobs is nice too. As long as you grind between every boss fight the game is fairly easy, with the exception of a few bosses. Also, the bosses in the final dungeon requires a lot of luck and the dungeon is really long, and you don't want to die.

Overall the game gets a 7.2 out of 10. The gameplay is not something you would expect from a 2013 game, but it is still a pretty good game
Final Fantasy Tactics

A different Final Fantasy Game
Final Fantasy Tactics an interesting spin off to the Final Fantasy Series. It is very different from any other Final Fantasy game, especially the battle system. In most Final Fantasy games, the battle system is either turn based or uses an ATB bar. In this game you have your party members in an area, and you move each individual party member near one of the enemies, which are usually all spread out. Also, if A party member dies you have 3 turns to revive that party member or end the battle, or else you lose the character permanently, so you need to pay attention.

Graphics will be rated a 9 out of 10. The graphics are pretty good for a PlayStation 1 game. I am used to playing older games so these graphics look really nice.

Sound receives a 6 out of 10. The music is alright, but they are not very catchy to me. I don't hate the music, but the music is just not very interesting.

Addictiveness gets a score of a 4 out of 10. I lost interest in this game, because of the battle system. In the Game Boy Advance version, when you move your characters, you can always undo it; however, in this version, I don't think you can undo it. When you get on a space you will be asked if you want to move there, but you can't move back if you say yes. This was frustrating for me and made me give up.

Story gets a 5 out of 10. The story is not bad, I just did not make it far enough to get more from the story, so I can't give it a precise score.

Depth gets a 7 out of 10. I heard this game is pretty long if you do everything, so if you are a completionist, then you be busy with this game.

Difficulty gets a 7 out of 10. Usually Role Playing Games are not hard, but this one is pretty frustrating. If you don't revive your best knocked out
characters or end the battle within 3 turns then you lose them permanently, which can be pretty frustrating. This is a strategy Role Playing game, so you will hav... Read the rest of this Review
Final Fantasy VIII

It's different but alright
Final Fantasy VIII is much different from any other Final Fantasy Game. The controls are different from Final Fantasy VII. In Final Fantasy VIII The X button is to select a command, instead of the Circle button. The Circle button Opens up the Menu, instead of the Triangle button. The Triangle button is The cancel button instead of the X button. Other than the controls, the game is alright, but pretty challenging. If you are up for the challenge then you should definitely play this.

I am going to give the graphics a 10 out of 10. The game was released in 1999 and it looks really nice. The animations also look nice. over the past year I have only been playing older games, so I can't really complain about the graphics in this game.

The sound will also receive a score of 10 out of 10. The music in this game is very catchy and sometimes I hum to it when I am playing, or even when I am not playing it. There are several soundtracks in this game which I really like.

The Addictiveness gets a 5 out of 10. The new battle system is pretty confusing and might make you give up later on and not want to finish this game. If you understand the battle system then you may want to play it over and over again.

The Story will be scored a 6 out of 10.The story is good, but it does not feel like a normal Final Fantasy Game, But some people like that. It really depends on you, but this is just my opinion, so please respect that.

The Depth of this game deserves a 9 out of 10. This was the longest Final Fantasy game at that time and there is a lot to do. There are several ways to challenge yourself.

I am scoring the difficulty a 7 out of 10. Usually for Role Playing Games I would rate the difficulty a 5 out of 10, but not this one, and the main reason is the enemies get stronger as you level up, so level grinding does not help. Instead of MP, you will have to stockpile magic, which makes the battles more time consuming.... Read the rest of this Review
Dragon Warrior VII

My first Dragon Warrior Game
Dragon Warrior VII is my first Dragon Warrior game, and I am loving it so far. The battle system is awesome and uses a first person turn based battle system. The game is very long and will keep you going. With awesome graphics and music you will not get bored with it. Dragon Warrior VII is a great game and you will not be disappointed.

I am giving the graphics a 10 out of 10.This is because the game was made in 2000 and looked nice for that time period. some may disagree with me and say the graphics are awful, but in 2000 there was not as much technology so it will not be Playstation 3 or Playstation 4 quality, but this is fine for me. I don't complain about the graphics, mainly because all I have been playing in the past year ware games on some of the older systems.

The sound will also be rated a 10 out of 10. The music is very good and catchy. Some soundtracks are unforgettable and may stay in your head for a long time. The music is definitely playstation quality and is very enjoyable and it will not disappoint you.

Addictiveness will be scored with an 8 out of 10. The game and battle system is very fun, it is very hard to stop playing this game. I have not gotten far enough to determine whether or not I want to play this game again, but I think I do.

For the story I will score it as a 7 out of 10. I have not made it far enough to rate the story precisely but I have an idea of what the story is, so I can rate it. Hopefully the story will be good and I have heard it is.

Depth will be rated a 7 out of 10. The game is very long. Some playthroughs on youtube have over 200 videos, so I'm sure I won't beat the game anytime soon. I don't know everything it offers yet, but I am excited.

Difficulty is rated a 5 out of 10. Most Role Playing Games are not hard; however If you rush through them you may find yourself screwed later on and you may have to restart the entire game. As long as you look around for treas... Read the rest of this Review
Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back

Good for those who like challenging games
Crash Bandicoot was my childhood game. I have played and beaten several of the games in the series, but I have not played this until just recently. I saw playthroughs of this game on youtube and the game looked fun and easy enough but when I played it I kept dying and getting game overs a lot that I quit. When I got to level 5, I had so many problems with it and one tine I got the crystal and got close to the end and I got a game over. If you are looking for a challenging game then you should definitely play this game. I am giving the graphics a 10 out of 10, because the game looks really nice especially for 1997. Lately I have been playing older games so these graphics look excellent in comparison and I don't find anything wrong with them. If they remake this game for a newer system I think the graphics will look amazing, but I don't like to complain about graphics in video games. The sound gets a 5 out of 10. Although the music is good, it does not really catch my attention as much as the other crash games in the series. The replay value gets 2 out of 10.The controls and camera angles messed me up a lot and made me really mad. When I got to level 5, I couldn't stand it anymore and now I just don't want to play it anymore. The story gets a 5 out of 10 because the story in most crash game are the same, kill the bad guy, which is cortex, and no this is not a spoiler because his name is in the title. Depth gets a 7 out of 10. Basically you go through sets of 5 levels ending with a boss, but in these levels you can find bonus levels where you can collect wumpa fruit and lives without losing lives when you die. you can also take death routes if you make it there without dying to get items toward 100% completion. No spoilers intended. For difficulty, I gave it a 10 out of 10 because this game is HARD. The camera angles and controls mess me up A LOT. Sometimes I want to jump so I press the jump button and the game does not let me jump. Sometimes the camera angles mes... Read the rest of this Review
