The Tetris Question
Whenever I play any game, a question springs to mind;"Why am I playing this particular game?" Every game is designed to draw the player in somehow. For RPGs, it is a storyline filled with danger, questing, and the history of the world you happen to be in to give you feeling that you are in another world. For platformers, their draw is the difficult navigating of a level with hazards and enemies, all while dangling a prize in front of you, usually some person that is trapped, that you need to rescue. Puzzle games want to make you rack your brain as to how you can get past the obstacle in front of you so that you may learn more about the character you play, and the world around them.

Tertis, however, is a puzzle game, but at the same time, it has absolutely no story. However, it never ends, except when you fail to clear the wall you yourself are building. Even if you dedicate your life to playing Tetris, you will never be able to avoid the game over screen. This is a game that can never be cleared, a game that can easily steal away an hour of your time. This is one of the most addicting games in the world. And I believe that anyone should be able to load up this game, play for half an hour, then decide one of three things: They could say that this game has wasted their time and that it did not satisfy them at all. Others may say that this is a good game for when you are utterly bored and have nothing to do whatsoever. But I firmly believe that most will become addicted, always aiming to do better than they did the last time. Want to prove me wrong? Then enter the perpetual, frozen-in-time world of Tetris.
