Earthbound a Classic This game is an overall 9, with points taken off for not using the SNES graphics to the full potential, especially with small characters like the ones in this game. The graphics are like high developed NES, with better movement characteristic of the SNES.  But I gave it an 8 because hey, what do you expect for the time this came out. The sound is better than most games, but doesn't touch the Final Fantasy games in epic composition that you remember for life (a bow to Final Fantasy 1 and 7). The addictiveness is a 10, with a 9 for storyline and 10 for depth, because it totally hooks you from the moment you play.  I still remember the warm fuzzy feeling I had starting this game so long ago, and a large part of what makes a game memorable is you become emotionally invested quickly in the characters and their story.  The main character is just an average kid, just like we were (or are!). I had no major problems playing this game, and I would say this game, in comparison with early games like Maniac Mansion, is relatively easier.  I never even considered going online to find out how to beat certain areas of the game, like I often did with Final Fantasy I, A Boy and His Blob, or Maniac Mansion. Overall this game is excellent for all ages, and can be recommended for a child's first RPG experience.
