Densetsu no Starfy Why the heck is the title "Starfy"?? In Brawl it is Stafy. Looks like the Vizzed mods messed up...
TG Rally A halfway decent GBA game, but the emulator keeps crashing!!
Galaxian by Jess Ragan Apparently all you do in this game is dodge random falling stuff, 9 levels of difficulty but that's about it.

Super Mario Star Road

"It's a mee-a, Mario!"
Mario is back once again! This time on his latest retro adventure; Super Mario Star Road - made as a sequel to Super Mario 64. As you may already have guessed, this is not a real game released by Nintendo; it is in fact a hack of Super Mario 64 made by Skelux. First revealed back in 2010, this project set out to extend the life of Super Mario 64 and bring fans old and new back to one of the most popular N64 games of all time. Taking inspiration from Mario games throughout the ages, there should be something for everyone here in this incredibly well put together mod of Super Mario 64.

Graphics:
Not too dissimilar from the original SM64 ones, what you see is what you get really. However, I have no reason to mark them down because this is still an old game so for the time it was originally released these graphics would have fitted in quite nicely alongside other titles in the N64 series.

Sound:
In my opinion a little hit and miss in the sound department... some of the levels use really nice remixes of songs from various other Mario games, and it feels kind of funny to feel nostalgia towards modern games within an N64 game rather than the other way around. However there are also areas where the song choice seems a little silly (such as the star celebration music being too long after you finish a level, you rarely get to hear it all the way through unless you sit and wait for a few extra seconds to let it play) and a couple of the levels use songs that just plain annoyed me. But on the whole I still found the music to be fairly enjoyable, so it still gets a 6/10 here.

Addictiveness:
This game has all the glorious charm of its predecessor, Super Mario 64, including the thoroughly addictive nature of the game-play throughout. There is just something about the idea of collecting those cute little stars and rescuing a kingdom from the clutches of a giant spiky tortoise that becomes very compelling and really intrigues the player as to w... Diddy Kong Racing

"Hello there! This is for you"
Well now, where can I begin with what can only be described as the best gaming experience of my childhood? This was a game that was forever living in the shadow of the much loved Mario Kart franchise, so many people may take one sweeping glance and think "oh, it's just another karting game with various items to give you an advantage over other racers" however I can assure you there is much more to this game than meets the eye.

While I admit it may sound like just another cheap Mario Kart knockoff, this could not be further from the truth! To highlight just a few features present in this game that trump other games in its genre; the presence of a story mode is a very welcome addition to the karting mix, and while the story is not all that in-depth, it is still something that sets it aside and really allows this game to shine. It is also important to remember that, as with Mario games, this was originally targeted towards a younger audience so the story had to be fairly easy to follow. Next is the ability to play in one of three unique vehicles; an aeroplane, a hovercraft, or a normal kart. As far as I am aware, Diddy Kong Racing is the only karting game available to this day to have such an option! It isn't just a gimmick either, the vehicle you select (changeable by talking to an NPC in the main hub, but restricted to certain worlds) actively changes the style of play, so it is down to the player to decide which vehicle is best suited for which racetrack in order to get the best time. Yet another feature present in this game is a passwords section, making the races a lot more customisable. If the CPUs are too easy for you, then there is a password to make them harder, so this game can literally provide dozens of hours of extra playtime even after the credits roll.

If you've always been the type of person who avoids karting games due to the rather luck-based nature of the item selection process, then Diddy Kong Racing might just be the game to ... Read the rest of this Review
