Super Mario 64

Super Mario 64: Review my Stars!
Back in the age of the Nintendo 64, Super Mario of the 64 brought out a fun new 3-D style gaming platform where you collect the power of the stars to save Princess Peach. In this version of Mario's epic tale you will adventure to whole new worlds, collect stars and battle bosses. Mario is alone this time but with your skills and his jumping specialty you'll defeat Bowser and save the day!

The Story
Dear Mario... the first of the last words written by Princess Peach in an invitation for Mario to visit the castle and this time it's not for the broken plumbing. You adventure into Princess Peach's Castle and learn that Bowser is waiting at the top of the Castle. Your epic journey begins when you step into the magical paintings in each of the different rooms as you progress your way to Bowser.

+2.5 - I really liked that this adventure was inside Princess Peach's Castle. I thought that this made it unique compared to the past Mario games where all you did was travel the land to search for Bowser's Castle. Too many Mario games do that and it's no longer unique.

+2 - Any adventure with Bowser at the end of the game has to be a great game.

+2 - I liked how you could speak with each of the Toads which added to the story a bit. At the beginning you also had Lakitu and Peach's letter so it was pretty cool.

+1.5 - I liked how the game started you out with Peach's letter. It really pulled you into the game and you immediately became interested.

+1 - I even enjoyed the credits and there was an ending after you defeat Bowser. This is something that I'll always like.

+1 - I liked that the story involved the use of paintings because it was unique and out of the ordinary but I wasn't necessarily thrilled about it either.

Mario Kart 64

Super Mario Kart: Road Rage Review
Super Mario Kart for the Nintendo 64 is among one of the best racing games I ever played. The game is very competitive, enjoyable, exciting and fun to play. This game offers a cool selection of characters of the Mario world and with each character comes race tracks like Bowser's Castle, Mario's Raceway and plenty more. This is a game that anyone of any age can enjoy.

The Story
Unfortunately, there is no story to this game. It's all about the racing.

The Graphics
Back when this game first came out you were always excited to see what could be offered from a new game like this one. You never realize just how much more realistic graphics would become years down the line. As for Mario Kart of the Nintendo 64, they were among the best in graphics for the console. I must say that the only thing I disliked about the graphics was the ship sailing around on Donkey Kong's track did not let you land on it. I tried so hard to land on that ship and when I did, I was absolutely disappointed. Of course, there was no real reason to land on it, but I thought it would be cool.

+2.5 - Most tracks had something to do with one of the characters. I thought this absolutely cool and it made me want to play certain tracks even more than the other ones.

+2.5 - I loved the design for the items. When I saw the Lightning bolt and the Blue Spiked Shell I thought that they were absolutely cool. I was already expecting the Star to be how it was. (I never did play Mario Kart on the older consoles)

+2 - The different tracks were pretty neat. I thought that Bowser's Castle was probably the most creative track in the game. It offered lava and some of Bowser's minions were there. It was just really cool and perfectly designed.

+2 - The concept of the tracks was pretty neat. I liked the scenery of the different tracks and with the way some of the tracks were built was pretty cool. You could even visit Peach's Castle. I know I would also ride o... Read the rest of this Review
Super Mario World 2 - Yoshi\'s Island

Super Review World 2: Yoshi's Island
Yoshi's Island is another great game devised by Nintendo. This time Mario is in diapers as an infant who falls out of the sky and into the land of Yoshi. In this edition of the Mario saga it could be argued that this is Mario's first epic adventure into a world where he must fight Bowser for the first time.

The Story
The game opens up with a nice little tune that eventually leads into the opening scenes of what happens that causes Baby Mario to fall from a stork. You find out that Magikoopa flies into the stork and grabs Baby Luigi but dropped Baby Mario into the land below. When Mario falls, he falls into the hands of Yoshi and so does the map that the stork was using. Sure enough, Yoshi decides to help Baby Mario find Baby Luigi and the stork who are being held in Bowser's Castle. This adventure takes off through many castles in search for Luigi and bring a happy ending to this story.

+2.5 -  I really liked the fact that unlike most other Mario games, they actually included a real story with this game and gave reason behind what was going on and led up to the Yoshi helping Baby Mario. I felt that this was both unique and pretty cool.

+2.5 - I really liked the fact that the story was somewhat different than the normal Bowser kidnaps Peach and Mario undergoes a long journey to save her. In this, it ultimately, expands the entire Mario saga with something unique to all other Mario games.

+2 - At the end of the game there's a scene that shows a little more to story like Super Mario World. Aren't happy endings great?

+2 - I liked the fact that your adventure led you throughout many castles and when you ran into the bosses of the world, Magikoopa would swoop in and make the bosses bigger. Also added a bit more to the story because of this.

Super Mario World

Super Review World
Super Mario World is the one game that began my childhood addiction for video games throughout the ages. I remember playing this game at the age 3 and thus started a fascination for Mario that I could not control. Everything became Mario this and Mario that. This even led to me creating my own imaginary Mario Worlds outside of the game. My point is that this is probably the highlight of my youthful gaming experience. With having such a great game at the foundation of my childhood interests, this was truly wonderful.

The StoryMario became an instant classic and with that came the age old story of Bowser repeatedly capturing Princess Peach, holding her hostage and the plumber comes to the rescue to save her. Before long, Mario sets off on a journey that leads him throughout dinosaur land, to save Princess Peach from a top Bowser's Castle. In Mario's adventure he comes across 7 castles and 7 of Bowser's children.

+2.5 - I really like the fact that this game helped create the classic that the Mario games have become. Bowser capturing Princess Peach is the standard for most Mario games.

+2.5 - I really like that you travel from area to area to defeat Bowser's children in each of the castles. At end of each Mario destroys the castle when he sees that Princess Peach is not there.

+1.5 - I like that even the credits add a little bit more to the story.

+1.5 - I also like that Yoshi was somewhat apart of the story and is a big part of the game.

The Graphics
The stage is set in side-scrolling fun using 16-bit sprites. Although the sprites of the SNES were very limited, they still offered enough to make games back in the day feel like something special. Reflecting back we tend to try to compare graphics to today's games and think I can't believe I played that game but for Super Mario World that was never the case.

+2.5 - I really enjoyed the layout of the levels and the desig... Read the rest of this Review
Super Smash Bros.

Super Smash Review
Super Smash Bros is the first Nintendo game that brings together the many different universes of gaming found on the Nintendo 64. This fighting style platform pulls the powerhouses from Nintendo's more popular games into one unique game. I believe this game to be the beautiful birth to a beautiful series of fighting style games that lives on today as Super Smash Bros: Brawl. There's no where else you can put your favorite characters to an all out fight to see who is the most powerful fighter of the Nintendo world.

Graphics: 9
I do think that the graphics of this game took a small step backwards compared to those of Super Mario 64 and Legend of Zelda which part of this game originates from. The reason for this is due to the fact that most the levels are built by blocks and is relatively flat and 2 dimensional. Aside from this I do love that the levels seemed somewhat eye catching. First, your stages are designed with a nice set of texture and second, each stage offers a few different effects that can take place. On the Castle stage, for example, the Tornado may hurl you into the sky which could easily lead to your death. I liked that this helped make the stage feel like there's more than feeling so 2 dimensional.

I also liked the animations by the characters and the items. Some of the items like Poke balls have cool little animations and is appealing to the game play. The home run bat is probably my favorite. Whenever you get the bat ready for the 1 hit KO is just awesome and makes me laugh every time. There is a lot that is offered in terms of graphics and it really helps pull the gamer into the game. Super Smash Bros is one of those games that did a pretty decent job at this even after the little set back. I feel a 9 is a suitable ranking for graphics.

Sound: 10
The sounds for this game really stand up to the expectations from combining games. First, you have the music and character sounds that come from each of their respective ga... Read the rest of this Review

Super Mario RPG - Legend of the Seven Stars

[OFFICIAL] Fix Super Mario RPG Guide
Introduction
Welcome! If you're here and reading this, it's because you're experiencing problems with Super Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars. I'm dedicating this thread to fix all known problems for the ROM. Posting in the comments or creating several threads over the same issues is counter-productive so I'll be combining everything I find and adding it here. I encourage anyone who has problems to post below and share. This will help a solution sooner.

Known Issues
-Freezing
-Sprites may take awhile to load (Land's End Desert Rooms and Tadpole Pond's Musical Tadpoles Room)
-Frame Rate Drops (Running through rooms with several monsters or during battle)

Freezing Points
-Sometimes when you use the menu (Items or Equipment usually)
-Sometimes when you acquire a star (2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th)
-Moleville Minecart Ride
-Immediately after the fight with Johnny
-Whenever Breaker Beam is used

Freezing Fix Method 1
The first method for fixing the freezing issues uses the Save State [F2] and Load Save State [F4]. Right before you reach any point that freezes you should Save State your place and when the game freezes, you should Load Save State to try again. If you do this a couple times, you might push the game through the freezing and can continue with no problems.

-In the process of making a short video. Will add this tomorrow

Freezing Fix Method 2
This method is a little more efficient and fixes most of the freezing but not all of it. Sometimes you'll have random moments where it'll freeze even if you've done everything right. What you do is activate PAL mode, which drops the max frame rate from 60 per second to 50 per second. There appears to be some instability caused by the 60 frame rate. Switching from 60 to 50 basically plays the Mario RPG like it's the Japanese version speed. That's all it does but it fixes some freezes.

1) Load the game

2) When the game is loaded,... Read the rest of this Guide

Suikoden: Guide of Destiny
WarningThis Game Guide is designed to provide insight into all of the elements that are found throughout this game. There is a pretty intense story line that follows the plot of this game and if you're a player who doesn't want to read spoilers, this guide is not designed for you. Most of, if not all of, the information provided on this page will contain many spoilers. The actual game will begin after the Introduction Section, in which the guide is designed to follow the game all the way until the end. Most spoilers will be listed in the Character parts of the Introduction. The information provided in the character section is found both in the game and from external sources. Some characters have so little information regarding their existence that they're only a name in the game. Other spoilers relate entirely to the True Runes, in which there are so few details about specific Runes that these details were also acquired from an external source. All of the game play is my own work, generated out of memory from having played and finished this game multiple times over the years. These details have been checked for accuracy.

Each section of this guide will contain several parts and a lot of information to read through. The length of the game is actually quite short and can be finished in full within 8 hours if you are very experienced. This might not seem to be the case due to long scenes and talking scenes but that's for the purpose of following along with the story. The entire story may have some minor changes if you were to replay the game differently a second time through. Depending on the results of your game effects it's ending and may change what happens after the game has ended. In order to complete the game 100% you will need to obtain all 108 Stars of Destiny. If you complete the Suikoden game with all 108 Stars of Destiny, you'll be able to load your data for Suikoden 2. Loading data from Suikoden 1 to Suikoden 2 will result in some dialogue cha... Theme Hospital

PS1 Theme Hospital Game Guide
IntroductionTheme Hospital is a casual strategy game revolving around the concept of running your very own hospital. You're required to invest your money in different ways to improve your hospital. While you're investing, so are 3 competitors in the surrounding area of each level. You can hire staff, customize floor plans, purchase hospital expansions, research and more. Your main focus is to help patients become happy and healthy. If you fail to make your patients happy, they'll die and your reputation will suffer. You'll need to balance your budget so that you don't fall too far behind the competition and too far in debt. If you don't think ahead, your hospital and reputation will plummet.

Red highlights each section.
Green highlights sub sections within each section.
Light Blue highlights other details.

Characters - StaffThis part of the guide is designed to explain the different characters who can be employed to your hospital. There are 2 main forms of character in this game; staff and patient. The role of the staff is to attend to the patients visiting your hospital. Each member of your staff has specific jobs they are required to do and can not do the work of the different types of staff. One general rule for hiring staff relates to the amount of money they make. The faster, harder working members of staff are generally paid more. These members of staff have a higher ability bar so they can do much more work in less time than members of staff with lower bars. When hiring staff you can always choose to read the description of that member. If it reads "Fast and Hard-Working" they'll be a good fit. If they read "Rude and Abrasive" then they are slow and take longer.

The other major factor that determines staff's ability to work is their happiness. You can improve any member of the staff with several methods. When designing the different floor plans, you'll want to be sure you give the room plenty of space and add plenty of windo... Read the rest of this Guide

Genghis Khan 2: Tricks, Tips and Tactics
My first Genghis Khan Guide?was created to help players understand the different functions found throughout the game and explained each option in detail. It also explained, in minimal detail, what can be done in terms of game-play and as a player. I've designed this guide to cover the different tricks, tips and tactics I use to play Genghis Khan 2 with some detail as to what each function is and detail as to what I do. I hope that I can help players understand the different elements on a greater level and create a strategic guide to success even if this isn't a walk-through. This guide will cover each element one at a time in a semi-step by step setup to build your nation.

Red indicates each different element.
Light Blue highlights each key factor of each element..
Yellow highlights other things to pay attention to. This color is bleeding through the rest of the thread and causes all non-yellow text to become yellow. Each section has "Tricks Tips and Tactics" labelled on it for specifics.

A New Game
This guide is designed to work as any nation for any of the 4 scenarios you can play. For newer/less experienced players, I recommend you play as Temujin/Genghis Khan as he is the original Khan that conquered most of the known world. I also recommend you begin your game in the Mongol Conquest Scenario. Temujin begins with access to powerful generals which will impact the game quite a bit. Other nations lack powerful generals. All AI will not use their better generals for war so they can not be captured or persuaded to join.

The reason why I recommend you begin with Mongol Conquest is because you get to choose 8 generals and an adviser to take with you to the second scenario. You must unite the Mongolian Steppes before the year 1214 in order to proceed to the second scenario. Tayan Khan would be the easiest to play on the Mongol Conquest because he begins with 2 territories. This might be the ideal choice to start but lack of general... Read the rest of this Guide

Super Smash Bros Guide
Super Smash Bros is the first of a series of games that brings together the universe hidden within Nintendo's world of gaming. Smash Bros combines each of the characters from their epic games in 1 mass fighting style free for all. In this game you can play as several Nintendo characters and compete to be the best fighter. You can unlock new characters and play on 8 classic stages that represent the worlds of each character's respective games.

This game guide will be unlike my others, This won't be a long guide because there isn't much to the game other than playing techniques, moves, stages and a few other key elements. To actually describe what you need to do to perform actions like completing Board the Platform and Target Test would be extremely difficult to do and would require intense detail. In this guide red represents the titles of each part. Light Blue will highlight the different weapon items. Orange will highlight the item containers. Pink will highlight health items. Green will highlight other things.

Items
Items can be found throughout the game. Some of these are weak but other items are powerful and may send your opponent flying. Learning to use your items will help increase your chances of defeating some of your enemies.

Barrel: If you pick this up you can throw it and it will roll on the ground and break open with items in it. Attacking this may lead to an explosion and cost you a life. Be careful where you aim because it may hurt when you're trying to win without dying.

Beam Sword: One of the dangerous items of the game. This is a powerful weapon that can cause a lot of damage to an enemy and stop enemy attacks. Throwing this causes a great deal of damage and repeatedly hitting your enemy when make them vulnerable to a good hit off the stage.

Bomb-omb: Arguably the most dangerous and deadly weapon of the game. This can be thrown and explodes on contact. It deals a considerable amount of damage and toss... Read the rest of this Guide
