Final Fantasy

The beginning of an endless fantasy
Final Fantasy is one of my favorite games. When I first played it I hated it because it was so hard. I took a second look and decided to take a strategic point of view. I rebooted my adventure with a Warrior, Monk, White Mage, and Black Mage. This time I completed the game, and I was pleased in doing so.

Graphics
This game has really good graphics, but they are generally only showed in the battles. The overworld is very colorful and interesting, but I feel that it sometimes lacks detail and there is A LOT of water. The enemy sprites however, are excellent. They are at top quality and look amazing. The design for the characters is clever and cool looking, and the spells have interesting effects. I rate this an 8.

Sound
Oh, my. This game has some of the best music any game can have. Who can forget the legendary Final Fantasy theme and Matoya's Cave? Being a fantasy game, you would expect fantasy and medieval like music. That is what you get, except you multiply it by 100. This game has beautiful themes like the castle theme, and the battle theme is upbeat and interesting. This deserves a complete 10.

Addictiveness
This game gets really addicting. I must say though, it gets really slow at times, especially in the beginning, as you will grind forever. Especially if you want that Mythril sword :P. The excess of grinding gets boring and the lengthy dungeons with the constant damage being put on your team makes the game tedious at times, but extremely rewarding at the end. There are many difficult enemies(like every boss), so you may be discouraged, but with determination and 3 hours of grinding you can do it! I give this a 7.

Story
Do I even need to say it? This game is the father of all RPGs in terms of story. Final Fantasy is just that, a fantasy, but an AMAZING ONE. I don't want to spoil anything in this game as it needs to be played all the way through to be understood. If you want a game with story, this is the game.... Read the rest of this Review
Shinobi III

A game worthy of being called, "Ninja Tough"
Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master is a smooth fast-paced sidescroller  with a limited story. I can't help but compare this game to Ninja Gaiden, though I'm not saying that one is better than the other.

Graphics:
The game contains excellent graphics quality. I feel that everything involving graphics in this game was exceptional. The characters were detailed and the objects were quite interesting. The boss characters were AMAZING. They were well designed, unique, and above all interesting. I can't really say too much about the bosses because it might spoil the game! The backgrounds were also interesting and lively. I'd give this a 10.

Sound:
Shinobi III contains some pretty good music and sound effects. The music was considerably good. It wasn't boring, but it wasn't very memorable. The sound effects on the other hand were great! I loved the projectile sounds and the damage sounds. The cutting, wall jumping, and damage sounds were high quality and cool. I say this is worth an 8.

Addictiveness:
This game wasn't all too addicting. It is worth playing and a game you would want to beat, but you could easily put down the controller (or leave the computer). The game is fun but lacks ultimate excitement. I do have to admit there are a few parts where you feel that you MUST beat it. I give this a 7.

Story:
After beating the game twice, I realized that there was pretty much no story. There are no cut scenes like in Ninja Gaiden, and no way to really tell what is going on. I did find the story by reading the box, but other than that the story isn't developed. Truthfully, I don't think you play Shinobi for the story line anyway. There is a story, but you don't learn anything new. There is text in the ending, but it doesn't tell you what happened during the game. I feel that this game had a lot of potential for a good story, but sadly did not use it. I say 5.

Depth:
This game does not have much... Read the rest of this Review
Zelda II - The Adventure of Link

27 deaths?!?! I haven't even gone to the 2nd palace...
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link

Graphics: The graphics were very good for its time. The characters were detailed, the coloration was done well and you could tell what things were. The enemies were very detailed and the bosses were unique and interesting. The towns people could have been a bit more different though... I say 9.

Sound: I enjoyed the music. It was catchy, not annoying and was put in appropriate locations. The themes seemed to fit with the area they were put in, like in caves or dungeons or even the over world. I especially liked the dungeon theme. The sound effects were cool and accurate like the boomerangs. Some of the sounds could have been made better like the one that plays when you're attacked in the over world. I rate this an 8.

Addictiveness: The game in itself is pretty hard if you don't know where to go, so you get annoyed. In the end you always want to go back and see what's next. I didn't think it was that addictive to it's a 7.

Story: The game didn't really have much of a story so this part can be left out. But with the prologue and ending, I say 7

Depth: This game took FOREVER for me to beat. There are towns people that tell you what to do, but some are slightly cryptic and don't say much. The game has a huge over world and has many things to find, most being heart containers and magic bottles. Palaces were hard to find and there were many hidden things. I liked this but the expansion of the palaces made the game a bit too hard. I say 9.

Difficulty: I agree with most people saying this game is VERY HARD. Especially on your first try with no walkthrough or anything. The game only get harder as you slowly progress. This is a good factor in games, but sometimes it's overdone. Another thing that made the game hard besides the backtracking and the enemies, its when you lose all your lives, you start in the area at the beginning of the game. This means you have to ... Mega Man Zero

Oooh, cool sword!
The mega man zero series is a big change to the whole mega man series itself. I loved the weapons, the element chips, and cutting bosses to pieces.

The graphics are good. Exceptional even for the GBA era. The sprites were detailed and precise, with the projectiles and effects were just good. This is improved on in later mega man zero games. Many gba games had a low level of graphics at the time, such as some of the star wars games. Mega man zero was an exception. I'd say 9.

The sound was great. I adored the music and the sound effects for explosions and dashing were great. They made the game fell alive. The game contained great music tracks that I couldn't get enough of. A true 10.

The game is VERY addicting. I would play for hours taking on bosses and beating levels. Even taking advantage of save states to beat pretty much every boss since they were impossible. Another 10.

The mega man zero series has a very detailed and dramatic story. Zero 1 is the beginning and shows great depth in zero's personality and growth, which is further expanded in later games. The story doesn't expand too much in this game, so it's a 9.

There is a lot of depth in the game. There are a clot of cyber-elves to collect, and even though some missions are short, there are a good amount of them. There is also great opportunity for collecting. I love the weapons, the ability to chop bosses in half is genius. I'd say 8.

The game difficulty is probably 9 because most bosses have erratic attack patterns and complicated moves. Sometimes they have attacks that span off screen. Levels and enemies are easy, but they're positioned in annoying locations making the game hard to speed (or even advance) through.

This game is great and I hope many people play this game in the future. With great difficulty, depth, graphics, and plain story, this game is superior to many other gba games. In total, this game is 9.2.
